For all of your live-blogging needs, Gay Patriot is the place to be. Also looks like Cindy Sheehan will be in the audience. That should be a real hoot. (HT Glenn)
And here is the Fox News advance coverage.
All begins at 6pm PT/9pm ET. I’ll probably chime in here during/after, and certainly look forward to your comments tomorrow on Tammy Radio.
During the speech, this is your thread for Comments. Here’s to the State of the Union. Good luck to President Bush. I just hope he doesn’t make my head explode too much over domestic issues. You’ll be the first to know!

Aside from national security in a military sense, I’m wondering whether/how GWB will discuss two other dangerous dependencies: energy and money. We are spewing dollars into the world and drinking oil like there’s no tomorrow. These are long-term problems, and GWB didn’t create them, and he’s not going to solve them, but good leadership might help push us in a better direction. I can’t claim to know the answers, and anyone who tells you there’s a simple answer is lying. If he talks about opening ANWR for drilling, I’m going to puke: Sure, there’s a nice oilfield there, but not much in the big picture, compared to our deficits and the mid-East reserves. Drilling ANWR won’t be an eco-catastrophe, but neither will it save the nation, and to suggest that it will is just plain stupid. And I’ve got mixed feelings about nuclear energy: Even the biggest nuclear booster has got to be concerned about proliferation and accidents and terrorism and waste that will be hot for tens of thousands of years. GWB has talked about hydrogen in previous speeches, but that’s not a solution; you need an energy source to liberate hydrogen. Hydrogen may make a great chemical energy distribution system in an electric future, but it answers nothing in itself. So what’s the answer? Some geothermal here, some biomass there; it adds up, but these things aren’t solutions in themselves. Solar power is great, but not economical; can it ever be made so? Fusion would be great if we ever get it; cold fusion even more so, but it’s not clear such a process exists. I dunno. Big questions. In the meantime, I just wish GWB would wield his veto pen and stop his mad spending. But I’d be surprised.
So far so good…. Nice to hear a reminder of the progress in Iraq. Bet this has the MSM gnashing its collective teeth. Three cheers for the slap-down on Democrat leadership’s negative attitude. Firm to-the-point message to Hamas but I doubt they’ll listen…
I wonder if he intended to be duplicitous in his use of words: He stressed his intent to reduce US import and dependence on Middle Eastern oil. To be technically accurate, the US gets more oil from the Americas and Nigeria, and relatively less from the Middle East. We’re stuck with the mid-East mess because it’s a global market, and any disruption affects all participants. So the meaningful goal is to reduce dependence upon imported oil in general, not just mid-East oil. Should I listen to what he said or what I hope he meant?
Ban the creation of human-animal hybrids? –Yeah, let’s leave that to Dr Evil in North Korea… ;)
Tim Kane?…the Dems sacrificial lamb? Pretty disgusted with the lack of response from the Dem side of the house. Even if you do not like the man, at least respect the office.
I see that the flower-child-pee-er-on-her-own-son’s-grave actually got tossed before the State of the Union. Good.
Every time she opens her mouth she disrespects the memory of her own son. Well, he died trying to preserve her right to be an idiot.
I imagine if she were in a middle-eastern country speaking againt the rulers of the noation, the stones would have started hitting her in the head quite a while ago.
