Gaza Not Enough; Hamas Demands Return of Seville

I couldn't believe this, even in this day and age when we should believe just about everything, but here it is. Courtesy of Charles at Little Green Footballs, Islamist terrorists now want the Spanish city of Seville returned to Islam:

Hamas demands return of Seville in internet children's magazine

The children's website Al Fateh, property of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, demands in its most recent issue the return of the Spanish city of Seville to the "lost paradise" of Al Andalus, as the Muslim part of Spain was called during its existence between 711 and 1492. The web magazine, whose name means "conqueror," says it is for "the young builders of the future." ...

"The lost paradise of Al Andalus," explicitly mentioned in the text, is a common meme in the Muslim world. It has led to concrete fatwas declared in order to recover territories conquered by Christian "infidels," such as that of three years ago by the Islamist sheik Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, which explicitly says that "Islam will return to Europe as the conqueror." Al-Qaradhawi is the leader of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, the president of the International Association of Muslim Scholars, and the spiritual leader of many other Islamist organizations around the world.

Lovely. I wonder if Spain is confused by the fact that their abandoning the people of Iraq has done absolutely nothing to protect them from the Islamist ghouls.

Perhaps they have a bit more respect for the Winston Churchill adage:

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last.

Not only Spain. The Caliphate of 750 encompased parts of North Africa, Greece, Italy, the entire Sinai and a whole buncha 'Stans.

The "Peace in our Time!" strategy for dealing with tyrants has never worked. Why would anyone think that something in human nature changed in the 21st century and now appeasment of mass murders will work?

Rod - I just wonder if people realize that "El Cid" is the sobriquet given to Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar by the Moors. El Cid Compeador fought as a mercenary for both Moor and Christian after the Reconquista.

The first place I heard of this in the media was, believe it or not, on "The Daily Show." The special story of the day was on the what the terrorists who bombed Madrid were after, and the answer was, Spain. They actually went through the whole history of the thing, and called the Spanish a bunch of woosies for backing down. Common sense can be found almost anywhere if you look hard enough.

The Spanish made a deal with the devil, and he will be back within five years to collect his due, in full.
