UPDATE: Yes, you regulars have seen this post before with its original date of Jan 25, but I wanted to move it up as it’s the subject matter of my appearance on the Factor tonight. Scroll down for a further update as well.
All of us at one point or another have realized that a Leftist crowing “I support the troops, but…” is indeed b.s. While I would generally never suggest that a dissenter over American policy doesn’t love this nation, when it comes to the left’s attacks on the WoT and support for the enemy, it’s a whole different ball game.
They hate this country, Western civilization and perhaps even humanity because they hate themselves. This destructive based hate is a keystone to malignant narcissism.
So, when Joel Stein wrote his column, “Warriors and Wusses” in the Los Angeles Times saying he doesn’t support the troop I wasn’t surprised by the sentiment, but was by his honesty. And just because the guy is honest doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be summarily rejected as one of the more depraved Mal Nars–after all, at least the Leftists who lie and say they support the troops have remained somewhat aware of the impact of saying otherwise. This guy, on the other hand, cares so little he doesn’t even bother to give our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, the support they deserve.
After the appropriate fallout, he is now defending his column. (HT Lucianne)
LOS ANGELES, Jan 24 (Reuters) – A Los Angeles Times columnist who infuriated conservatives by writing that he does not support American troops fighting in Iraq — and calling those who do “wusses” — stood by the article on Tuesday.
Joel Stein said he has been “bombarded” by hate mail over the incendiary article — which was headlined “Warriors and Wusses” and held that U.S. soldiers in Iraq were “ignoring their morality” — but does not regret writing it and stands by the premise.
Let’s not forget why we have made a point of supporting our troops–because Leftists during VietNam, people like Kerry and Fonda made a cottage industry of demonizing our sons in the field. Our troops were spat on and reviled when they returned home. It was disgusting then, and to return to that is a revelation that today’s Left is as ugly, despicable and self-obsessed as it always has been.
Because we have become better people, we have decided to not let that leftist depravity rule the day again. And now as the Left gives us Joel Stein (a Jew complaining about our efforts to vanquish the 21st century’s genocidal Jew-haters–talk about self-loathing), and Cindy Sheehan. The difference is our generation isn’t going to take it anymore.

And speaking of moral compasses, don’t be surprised that this leftist moralist loves…pornography.
UPDATE January 30:
Probably the biggest response I got from O’Reilly is when I mentioned two actors I know who have stated to me that they feel as Stein does. The point I was unable to make is in the ensuing arguments, both women acknowledged that they resented Stein’s column because now they had to face that part of themselves. The fact is, both of these women were uncomfortable with that realization about themselves. They had parroted the “We support the troops” line for so long (and learning lines is what actors do best) they had been able to ignore the illogic of their own position. They preferred that, however, as opposed to having to face the truth about themselves.
I’ll state again what I said on O’Reilly, and what my makes my two actor acquaintances so uncomfortable: If you do not have the moral footing to understand the moral victory of liberating Iraq, you do not have the moral or emotional depth to truly be able to support the troops. Once you get to that point, and recognize what it means about you, and you are bothered by that, perhaps there is hope.
Stein was supposed to be on O’Reilly tonight, but he backed out. His original statement after his column was arrogant and reinforced his position. Could it be that Stein is looking in the mirror and doesn’t like what he sees? Let’s hope so.

I can return the favor: I don’t believe in idiocy, so therefore I don’t believe in Joel Stein OR the LA Times. And I see no reason to explain or defend that position.
Speaking as a veteran, that had to be one of the most offensive liberal masturbatory pieces I’ve ever read….and that’s sayin’ a lot for the LameAss Times.
It’s no wonder their ad revenue & circulations are swirling the bowl.
Liberalism truly is a horrific disease. Thank gawd I was finally inoculated.
Hmmm….that’s funnny….this article didn’t mention anything about insufferable traffic…
Dennis Prager, syndicated radio talk show host based in L.A., was commenting yesterday on Stein’s article. If you listen to Dennis’ program you know that one of his guiding principles is: clarity is more important than agreement, i.e., it is not important that we agree; what is important is that people make their positions absolutely clear to avoid any misunderstanding of what they mean.
Dennis has long critiqued the liberal line “We’re against the war, but we support the troops” as not only illogical but insincere. If you believe the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal, that the president lied to the American people to support this war, that we are murdering thousands of innocent women and children, and that Saddam has no terrorist ties to 9/11, then you cannot support the soldiers who are fighting this illegal and immoral war. To say you’re against the war but support the troops is the ultimate in hypocrisy and insincerity.
Therefore, Dennis was complimentary to Mr. Stein yesterday (in this one and only respect) when he said, “Finally, an honest liberal.” A liberal finally has the guts to come forward and say what they mean: that they don’t really support the troops and that the troops have been duped into fighting this terrible mistake.
So let us join with Dennis and say “Thank you, Mr. Stein, for finally making clear what we have suspected all along. Liberals not only do not believe in the Iraq war, but they also do not respect the sacrifices of our troops to keep us free from another attack.”
We don’t use the word “silly” much anymore. And we should, it is the best word to describe many of the acts and beliefs of the left.
And “silly” describes Joel Stein perfectly. He is yet another child in an adult’s body trying to explain away his own lack of relevancy to much of anything.
I haven’t read the column by him yet because the LA Slimes wants way too much personal information to look at their biased rag. It should be available elsewhere in a couple of days.

Thanks much Talkin Horse, that is gonna be a real useful site!
Well, he did get attention and that’s probably what he was after. I had never heard of him before this. I doubt he has ever lived in another country (Not a vacation resort!)for any length of time.A couple of years in Cuba or France would open his eyes. Imagine the families of loved ones who where killed over in Iraq have to hear this ungrateful spoiled bastard.
“They’re telling me to leave the country, which sounded good at first because I thought they meant a vacation. But they didn’t mean a vacation,” he said. The columnist said he suspected the reaction was largely fueled by the Web sites, adding: “My guess is that it will die down pretty quickly.”
If you to the South, they have not forgotten the Civil War, and they will not admit losing it.
The Marines in Iraq have to put up with Kevin Sites. Remember, the camera guy freelancer who videotaped a Marine shooting an “Unarmed Civilian”, in reality, a wounded Jihadist, during the fight for Fallujah? The film was on Al-Jazeera hours befoe the alphabet networks here got it.
I will not forget this parasite. He better hope I never meet him. You can bet a valuable part of your anatomy that the Marines have not forgotten what Sites did.
Man, so much of what this arrogant, ungrateful brat said is rotten, how do you narrow it down? As a military wife, one big irritant is when guys like this have the b*lls to try to tell us what the troops need, think or feel. With so much of that bombarding us daily from the main stream media, most of us live feeling very separate from the rest of the U.S. I read boards like this because it reminds me that plenty of folks outside the military community are great, supportive people.
