And America doesn’t need them either. President Bush keeps talking about needing to “bring people out from the shadows.” As a matter of fact, that is now the undeniable spin line from Bush and the open borders crowd. But what people would that be? People in the shadow of their Mexican flag as they run through the streets half naked?
The only “people in the shadows” I’ve noticed are American patriots who are accused of racism and xenophobia by the president because they’re trying to keep this nation safe by securing our borders and refusing to reward criminal behavior.

I thought the majority of the Mexican people come here because Mexico sucks? These people can march all day in the US and guess what, Mexico will still suck! If they have any real “pride†in Mexico they would march on Mexico City and demand reform.

Here Here Chase. In Mexico they don’t have a voice but here in the US we allow everyone to be heard legal or not. Grrr Grrr I still say we should check their papers and then show them the door. Mexico doesn’t care if the country sucks because the money earned here goes right back to them. What is the incentive to change. They just sit back and watch US dollars come to them.
How about we trade L.A. for Baja California? And will the last Gringo leaving L.A. bring the flag.

How can you have any pride in Mexico? Conquored by Spain. Multiple “Revolucions” that always had their “Savior” ending up as greedy tyrant.
For 30 years, I was a law enforcement officer in Southern California. I had hundreds of negative experiences with Illegals, and zero positive ones.
The Illegals have nothing but contempt for US law enforcement, because they know you literally can not touch them. If you do, their junnkyard dog Hispanic attorney will sue for Civil Rights Violations. In thier home county, Law enforcement can kill them and not be in danger of reprisal. The Illegals respect SUPERIOR BRIUTE FORCE, not niceness, and not negotiation.

I am fairly certain from my California history that Mexico issued land grants for most of the Southwest which means they sold it. All the mexican flag wavers that want to reclaim SoCal as part of Mexico…. you sold it.. go home.
It almost looks like Bush, like his dad, is doing everything he can to destroy the Republican party. His 1984 “War is Peace” lies about an amnesty bill not being what it clearly is gives people the impression that all Republicans are nothing but liars. Of course the MSM/DNC has had his lies front page the last 2 weeks. This is going to hurt most GOPers big time!
Well put, Rod. I, as a Hispanic, do not see why the GOP is equating capitulating to illegal aliens as alienating LEGAL Hispanics (read Voters). Should the GOP ask around, they would find that the majority of legal Hispanics DETEST illegal aliens.
Also, to say that this land was “stolen” from them is a non-issue. If California, NM, and Texas belonged to Mexico, the US would still have illegal aliens crossing into Idaho, Nevada, and Oklahoma. The illegal alien issue is less about geography and more about a failed and currupt Mexican government that is content with exporting its throbbing masses, along with their multile social problems, into the US.
I’m in L.A. and had the misfortune to be stuck on the freeway and forced to watch some of oppressed illegal aliens waving the Mexican flag and flipping off the people in the cars. Secure our borders first, amnesty never. I won’t consider any guest worker program until the massive flow of illegal immigration has been stopped.
The majority of us can tell the difference between gangbangers and people who are here to work. We also recognize that the sanctuary laws and nonenforcement of American laws protect BOTH the gangbanger and the worker.
And frankly, we are just tired of the Michael Moore version of illegal immigration wherein every illegal alien is simply here to fly kites and are victimized by the extremist, racist Americans. If there is a debate over illegal immigration then it must include the murderers, the drug dealers, the gangbangers, the clown-houses, the closing of emergency rooms, overcrowded schools, the billions of tax dollars and services consumed by illegal aliens, etc.

I think the people in the shadows are the ones in our society leeching off the welfare state. GW likes to say no Americans will take those jobs that illegals do, but that is because they make more on welfare than they would working those jobs. However, if our borders were sealed AND we could eliminate or reduce the welfare state, labor would be in demand and through the miracle of supply and demand economics, the wages of those jobs would naturally increase.
My problem is with those that come here illegally, get free health care, free education, and break laws at their whim, then turn around and say how bad America is. I don’t think any of our border security would stop someone from going SOUTH. Feel free, and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
Speaking of Gangbangers, look at the tats on flag boys chest. They look like prison tats..not even good enough to call them street tattoos…
Tammy, Imagine 25 million illegals being granted amnesty and then being able to bring their families here. Let’s say that they have three or four family members. That’s 100 million new residents from mostly one country and culture. How can we absorb that without loosing something? What would become of America? It would cease to exist.
I wish people would drop the border security and terrorsim argument and just say without reservation that the big threat is not from terrorists but from hoards of illegals overwhelming or nation and turning it into Mexico.
This is one of the reasons I’m leaving California. I will miss it, but I want to live in America.
I have decided that the next time I see some idiot in his Volvo picking up or droping off illegals at the U-haul center in Pasadena, I’m going to pull up beside him and give him a ration of s**t. “Sell out!” “Selling out your country for cheap labor!”
Patrick I am leaving CA as well. The movers are coming this week. I am a second generation native and it hurts to leave but the immigration issues and quality of life issues have taken its toll. Where are you heading? I am going to TN.
Dedough, I’m going to move to North Carolina if the job works out. I’ve just applied. My brother and his wife are contemplating TN. My father has been itching to get out for a along time. He’s convinced that if a few of my 12 siblings bail, my mom will give in and follow.
Patrick good luck to you. I don’t have a job yet either but there are so many companies from CA relocating to the south that you won’t have any trouble. Just the fact that so many companies are leaving CA …… what does that tell us about our current state of affairs… hmmm!
