Yes, whaddya know–France surrendered.
Chirac to Replace Youth Jobs Law
PARIS Apr 10, 2006 (AP)— President Jacques Chirac, bowing to intense pressure from students and unions, announced plans Monday to replace a contested employment law that set off massive protests and strikes across France.
Of course France wasn’t trying to be mean to the leetle keedies with this jobs law, they were trying to keep their economy from collapsing. But the Spoiled Children and euphemistic “young people from the suburbs,” also known as Rioting Islamists, can’t see beyond their own navel. The Islamists would in fact love a collapse of the system seeing it as their opportunity to take France by riot. After all, if they can control legislation with a temper tantrum, why not?
With this news out of France, Friday’s little noticed equivalent of an EU economic war game makes a lot more sense. While this story couches the EU’s concern of an economic meltdown on a potential hedge fund meltdown or “other financial shock” it’s reasonable to think that the EU realizes they must consider what a French economic collapse would do to the rest of their wobbly alliance.
Be prepared for a crisis, EU regulators are told
FINANCIAL regulators in all EU countries are to be asked today to prepare for the collapse of a big hedge fund or a similar sudden financial shock. EU finance ministers and central bankers, meeting in Vienna, were told that the collapse of a hedge fund could now destabilise European financial systems as well as the financial markets. [...]
The officials complain that many of the EU’s financial regulators have simply failed to take the precautionary measures that were agreed by finance ministers, including Britain’s Gordon Brown, two years ago. They want ministers to call for their national regulators to run detailed simulation exercises to find out what they would need to do if faced with a domino collapse of liquidity or asset values in their markets.

Half a years holliday upon hire, they can’t fire ya. Why do I work in America. Oh yeah, we might not go out of business.
Let the left take over, this is just a prelude to what we will be seeing in the USA in the not too distant future. Only difference will be that it is the illegals and their sympathizers that push our system further out of balance. I’m getting really sick of all of this…
OH MY GOD…FRANCE SURRENDERED!!????!!! I am shocked beyond belief!!
NOT
Its France, you actually expected someone to step up and fight?
I simply don’t know how to react to some of these news stories. They sound, on the face of them, so absurd that I wonder whether I’ve got the full account. Obviously nobody’s going to hire you if they know they can’t fire you. And, once you do get a job, you’ll be afraid ever to leave it, because you may never find another. Although maybe that’s okay, because if the welfare benefits are good enough, who needs a job? Is there a goal in there worthy of violent riots? The French don’t want to fight Saddam or other great evils of the world, but they’ll go to war for this nonsense. I see neither morality nor pragmatism here. I keep looking for the missing bit of information that will make it all make sense, but I’m not finding it.
I have a hard time chuckling at the French while I watch the same thing happening here with the “immigration” mobs marching in OUR streets…
and that picture of Bush “Saving my keister” just keeps looking more and more absurd with each passing day.
The EU crumbling? Ah yes, now that’s a nice thought. Maybe they’ve went so far Left they will just circle round and end up on the Right. It’s either that or third world status.
