Of course those 25 execs wanted to hire her. I bet she really "raised the table" with that performance. Do you think they walked her to the door after the audition was over?

Tammy- that chair sex is hilarious! I don't know how people think of these things. Anyway, I bet Couch is so jealous he's coming apart at the seams.

What I think we can all agree upon is that if there are videos of the 'casting sessions' for The L Word that they need to be out on the internet for all to see.

This story doesn't strike me as the same as the traditional "casting couch", in which sex is exchanged in hope of favoritism. When they cast for a show like this, they're asking for actors who are willing to do sexy stuff on camera. Assuming this is a legitimate field of entertainment (and you may want to take issue with that assumption), then it's reasonable to get into that stuff in the audition. You can't afford to hire a person and start filming only to find, down the road, that he or she refuses to do certain scenes. This is a problem that really does happen, in spite of contractual obligations and promises. I read one director who noted that, after getting burned a couple of times, he now always schedules any nudity to be filmed first. That way, someone who gets cold feet (or cold in some other anatomical location) can be fired without having to re-film everything else. Again, for this type of casting call put out by a professional operation, anyone going into it will know what is being asked of them.

This reminds me of a story, absurd but true, about a renegade production guy associated with one of the major comedy variety shows (I think it was Arsenio, but I'm not sure). Anyway, this guy had a gay fantasy going, and he put out a casting call for large-hipped guys for some non-existent comedy routine. It all seemed to be on the level for the innocent wannabe responders, but the "auditions" became increasingly inappropriate, and it ended up making a big stink, as well it should.

I watched one episode of "Big Love" out of curiosity. I dunno. It didn't strike me as entertainment, unless you consider family squabbles in a really huge family to be entertaining. Who is the target audience? Maybe the ladies?
