&lt;p&gt;With that as background: I really don&#039;t think you are seeing the Moussaoui verdict in the right context.  Yes, he came here with intent to commit 9-11 and he allowed / encouraged others to do it.  For that, he deserves life in prison.  But at the end of the day: He didn&#039;t actually commit 9-11!  Nor did he mastermind it, nor give the orders.  It is wrong to give someone the death penalty for something they DIDN&#039;T do.  Life imprisonment is the appropriate punishment here.  The jury got it right.&lt;/p&gt;
