The Mudville Gazette has the news of exactly how Islamist terrorists (aka “insurgents”) killed 30 year-old Iraqi journalist Atwar Bahjat. Originally, her murder was reported as one that seemed swift, with her being shot to death. Not so. The savagery of our enemy rages on, exemplified by what they did to Atwar. Both Little Green Footballs and Mudville are now reporting that the identity of the victim who endured this Islamic torture murder in Iraq may not be Atwar but that of a Nepalese man. The Times of London, which broke the story, has yet to comment. Here is the update from Mudville:
Update 8 May 1550 UTC:: Questions have been raised concerning the identity of the victim in the video described in this story. According to this wikipedia entry photos of Atwar Bahjat’s body prove she was not decapitated. The photos linked from the entry, while gruesome, are not conclusive.
What’s known at this time: Atwar Bahjat was kidnapped and murdered while covering the Samarra bombing. The author of the London Times’ story has been with the paper for some time, and is self-identified as “a friend of Bahjat who had worked with her on a variety of tough assignments”. According to that Times story, the paper received a video of an execution that concludes with a close-up of the victim’s face. The author has seen the video. The video is “cell phone” quality. The author says the victim is Atwar Bahjat.
More (8 May 1930 UTC) Update: The Jawa report says the Times has been hoaxed. From the evidence, if this is the same video the Times has the reporter must have very poor eyesight, or memory. The victim is a dark haired man who looks nothing like Atwar Bahjat.
It should be noted the Times has not yet commented on the situation.
And it should be obvious that none of this diminishes the horror of either event – the killing of this man or the murder of Atwar Bahjat.
Mudville is right on all points. The murder of Atwar, as well as every other victim of Islamic savages, is horrific. While her murder gained more attention because of her role as an Iraqi journalist, if this turns out to be the recording of the Napalese man, it highlights the barbarity of our enemy in general. God bless both of them, and all the poor souls who have personally faced the increasing Arab Islamist depravity.

Horrific. I could feel the blood draining from my head as I read the description of Atwar Bahjat’s brutal torture and execution. Then I got really angry: not just at the animals that did it but at the sanitized reports of her death by mainstream media outlets. So many Americans only get their news from these media outlets who sanitize and spin everything because the truth might traumatize delicate little minds. I say let us be traumatized. People need to know who and what we are really facing: hate-filled torturer/murderers who want to slaughter everyone who doesn’t think or live like they do.
I am not afraid to die but I am terrified of being tortured to death like Atwar Bahjat and so many other people who have found themselves at the mercy of these beasts. I think if more people recognized the reality of what we are facing, they would quit whining and second guessing, and they would support our president and our troops in the war on terror. Let’s take it to them because we sure don’t want them to bring it to us.
I read that story yesterday and was numbed. Yet, another clear example of why not only terrorism but Islam itself needs to be fought. These individuals are monsters that make Manson, Bundy and Pickton look tame in comparison. Islam as a religion needs to ride these atrocities into the garbage dump of history and fade into dust.
Sometimes monsters don’t get it until they realize that their viciousness can be applied to them also.
Putting a swine like any reasonably well known (in the Muslim world) Isalmofacist up and spreadeagled on an X frame, covering his head with pig skin, but with airholes for his nostrils, then drilling out his knees and elbows, cutting him down so he has to crawl around in the dirt, and then, if it seems reasonable to end his suffering, shooting him in the head, all on camera, might have a salutory effect on these bastards.
This very sad and shocking article serves to remind us all that we are not fighting a conventional enemy or “insurgents” . The enemy are violent, foul heartless savages that do not compromise, have no desire to co-exist in peace with any people who will not bow to their beliefs and whose ultimate goal is to conquer and destroy. When will this reality be understood by the leftists that they want total annihilation of all who will not follow their wickedness ? They have already brought the battle to our homeland and killed thousands of Americans. We have got to destroy them by any means necessary. If we do not, they will be back and mabye not thousands but millions will perish. Wake up you sugar coating MSM and lefties and smell the blood.
Like a Phoenix from the ashes, out of the fire of the Muslim world comes a clarion call of reason.

When I read this article late Sunday nite, I was numb…I was speechless…I don’t really remember hearing much about it on the news…I must agree with JPAC…bring the reality on home, the American public should see it (except for Nancy Pelosi, of course, who got physically ill when she saw the pictures of how the soldiers put the dog collars on the insurgents in Abu Ghar)…anyone who thinks that this CANNOT happen here has their head in the sand…why is it so difficult for anyone to see what is going on there…why we are fighting to rid the world of these savages…besides the pig, what is the weakness of these pukes? what is going to bring them to their knees? I have an article about what General Pershing did to the Muslim terriorists in the Phillippines just before World War One…unfortunately, his solution would not cut in todays world of human rights…what this world has yet to realize is that these ‘insurgents’ aren’t human.
I am sick to my stomach. Those people are minions of satan. And we better get damn serious about killing them.
That’s a great point you made Marie about what makes the Left sick versus what makes us sick. They never seem to make comments about how sick they are over the beheadings and murders in Iraq.
