Rice in Surprise Visit to Beirut

Now in the Middle East, Secretary Rice made an unannounced trip to Beirut and has met with their prime minister. And while the MSM continues to paint the ongoing violence as some sort of "failure" of the president's Middle East policy and the WoT, a funny thing happened on the way to killing Hezbollah and smashing that puppet of Syria and Iran--Syria is now reportedly offering to reveal where al-Qaida is in Lebanon.

Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that we're winning the WoT, and that Israel is winning and poised to topple not only Hez but the Syrian tyranny as well?

In the meantime, Spain is working with Syria's terrorist government, offering a more public package to "broker peace," which includes Syria's demand of a return of the Golan Heights and a prisoner exchange. Of course they want "peace." When you're losing it's remarkable how appealing a cease-fire can be. And never forget--our soldiers in Iraq still fight uniformed Syrian army at the Iraq/Syria border. That nation is a terrorist menace and must be destroyed if there is ever to be a lasting peace in the Middle East. Let's hope Secretary Rice and the president are willing to make that happen,

Rice Meets with Lebanon PM in Beirut

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made an unannounced visit to Beirut on Monday in a show of support for that country's weakened democracy, which is struggling to contain the fighting between the Hezbollah militia and Israel.

Rice met with Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, who greeted her with a kiss on both cheeks. Rice told him, "Thank you for your courage and steadfastness."

A weakened democracy in Lebanon, eh? In light of the bombs that have gone off there long before Israel had to defend itself, and in light of all the armed, massive hizbullah parades that have been going on for many years, and in light of the Lebanese government's inability to disarm hizbullah, mandated by the UN, I would suggest there was never a stronghold of democracy in Lebanon period. It is all a facade and charade of placating terrorists and their supporting regimes instead of doing what Israel is doing. Namely, confronting them with blunt force trauma, the only thing they are capable of respecting.

My personal prediction is that Condi Rice will be THE key to establishing the cornerstone for lasting peace in the ME and for uniting nations in the war against terrorism.

She has the personal and diplomatic skills to do what no one before her has done.

The pathetic MSM's coverage of this war is really appalling. The played up the evacuation of Americans from Lebanon as much as possible in hopes they could get Bush on that (that didn't work), so then they tried to count civilian casualties in Lebanon and compare them to the those in Israel. That didn't work because the Hezbollah rockets/missiles keep flying into Israel by the hundreds, duh. Then they trotted out Kofi A. who turned everyones stomach and that didn't work. What's next, Jimmy Carter?

The political left has picked the wrong time to place politics over the welfare of the country. if they could bring themselves to behave as "fellow citizens concerned for our future" instead of bashing EVERYTHING 100% of the time we could eat the islamofascists for lunch and be far more succesful against this scourge. we tried it their way in the past and it didn't work. are you listening madame albright?

WE understand the lessons of history. Like it or not, this really is WW-3. We can fight it or roll over like much of europe. I vote for the former

This morning I had the pleasure of seeing Tammy on Fox News discussing this very topic with some knucklehead whose name I didn't even hear because I was absolutely astounded that he was so negative about Rice's visit...his main point being that the 'press' was not alerted that she was stopping in Beirut...why does the press think they should be the first to know about something so top secret? why on earth would we give them this type of information first? so they can give the enemy a 'heads-up' to be fair? This is WAR!! and my final question is, do they have any idea what would really happen to this world if the terrorist took out any of our top people like Condi? and actually my final final is, Tammy, you were right on as usual, you seem to never get enough time on the air...

Has anyone noticed how quiet the left has been about the escalating war between Israel and Lebanon? I checked all their sites: Michael Moore, Al Franken, Cindy Sheehan, Ted Kennedy, and even Barbra Streisand. Nothing. Just the uncomfortable creaking of chair backs and seat cushions. The war is in its 12th day - that's 12 days they've had to think up something. Doesn't the left have any ideas on how to address this situation? Oh wait, I know, instead they're sitting back waiting to bash Bush on what he does or does not do. It’s all they know how to do.
The only person to step forward has been John Kerry with his unprovably absurd and laughable assertion that if he were president the war would not have happened. His cock-sure solution to the current conflict and it’s very real potential to become an all-out middle east war is: It never would have happened under him in the first place, next topic please.

Yes, we all believe Kerry would have single handedly sprung a special-operations maneuver on the Israel/Lebanon border and himself wrestled down the very terrorists who set out to kidnap the Israeli soldiers, snuffing out the incident that started this whole thing in the first place.
In one breath Kerry states that the situation could have been handled diplomatically (i.e., without fighting Hezbollah): "The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East." And in the next breath he states that we must destroy Hezbollah: "This is about American security and Bush has failed. He has made it so much worse because of his lack of reality in going into Iraq.…We have to destroy Hezbollah."

How do you destroy Hezbollah diplomatically?? Double-speak invokes respect and trust in liberals, but quite the opposite in me.
