Leftist "Peace Activist" Sent to Mental Hospital

Yes, I couldn't resist. But then again, that's my job, isn't it ;)

Finally. I never thought I'd see the day. Interestingly, the only thing that separates this woman from, oh, Cindy Sheehan or Bill Maher, is where one spews the leftist rant and well, that urinating in public part. Of course, this could give one the idea of removing all the porta-potties at whatever campout Sheehan might do next. But that would be wrong.

Suspect in trans-Atlantic flight scare sent to mental hospital

A Vermont woman whose actions aboard a London-to-Washington flight provoked a security scare will be held indefinitely at a residential mental health facility in New Hampshire, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

Catherine Mayo, 59, of Braintree, Vt., has been in federal custody since Aug. 17, when United Flight 923 was diverted to Boston after Mayo urinated on the floor of the cabin and made statements that the pilot and crew believed were references to al-Qaida and the Sept. 11 attacks...

During a break, as her lawyer was explaining the conditions of her detention, Mayo repeatedly interrupted her and said: "I did not commit any criminal act. I am not responsible for the federal government arresting me."

What's really priceless, however, while not covered in this follow-up story, is recounted for us by the Washington Times at the time of the arrest. She's one of those classic, dyed-in-the-wool Bush/America haters suffering from an apparently advanced case of Bush-Derangement-Syndrome. "Just barely lucid" and "serious mental health problems" seem to apply to an awful lot of "peace activists" these days.

Now that this one is in the looney bin, does that mean attendance at Sheehan's "Camp Casey" events will be down? And what will John Murtha do without those supportive emails?? Okay, so I don't know Mayo's email history, but I think it's pretty darn safe to say he's probably on her "hero" list. And, of course, the other major concern is whether the Daily Times of Pakistan will accept America and Bush-bashing columns written in crayon.

Hmmm....
