Now Hillary Steps Into It

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Woman Who Would be President, launched a vigorous defense of her husband after he had his Fox News Sunday meltdown. The problem is, while people like her could fabricate history years ago, it's not so easy anymore. Now with the internet, which provides virtually immediate access to documents, she should realize that making it up as you go along just won't cut it. Consider this great analysis by Thomas Joscelyn at the Weekly Standard:

Warning Signs: Hillary Clinton attempts to rewrite history.

YESTERDAY, in the wake of President Clinton's interview on Fox News, Senator Hillary Clinton defended her husband's counterterrorism track record. Reacting to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's assertion that the Bush administration "was at least as aggressive" in the eight months preceding September 11, 2001 as the Clinton administration was in the years prior, the former first lady remarked:

"I'm certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled 'Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States' he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team."

Apparently referring to the August 6, 2001 presidential daily briefing, which was entitled "bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US," Senator Clinton suggested that her husband did not receive the same type of warnings that President Bush did.

In fact, President Clinton signed a similar classified document--which contained an explicit warning from the U.S. Intelligence Community that bin Laden intended to strike inside the United States, more than two years prior to leaving office. And the U.S. intelligence community collected numerous pieces of intelligence concerning bin Laden's determination to strike inside the United States during President Clinton's tenure.

Oops, Hillary, your philandering husband has made you look like a flaming idiot once again. And has anyone noticed, for a man who supposedly "meant" to have a meltdown on national television, there's an awful lot of defense and damage-control going on?

"...President Clinton signed a similar classified document--which contained an explicit warning from the U.S. Intelligence Community that bin Laden intended to strike inside the United States, more than two years prior to leaving office."

Ahem -- correct that to "over FOUR years prior to leaving office." Michael Reagan wrote at FrontPageMagazine.com on April 19, 2004:
"Unlike the August 6 document which had no information about hijacking jets to crash into U.S. Targets, the 1996 PDB gave specifics about al Qaeda plans to carry out exactly that kind of attack." and refers to an Allan Favish article at FPMag on October 14, 2003 that initially discussed it!

The MSM, which styles itself as the public's watchdog, bears as much blame as Hillary does. Had the MSM lived up to its high-sounding claims - "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable", to use the self-righteous phrase the MSM believes describes their role - I doubt that Hillary would have even tried to pull a stunt like this. She made her attempt to falsify history because she know that the MSM will let her get away with it.

Personally, I hope she keeps up the defense...she is just bringing back to the public eye what a liar she truly is and how manipulative she can be...

Did you notice that Bill used some of the same type language that Hillary had used about the vast rightwing conspiracy. They want us to know that they did an excellent job against terrorism during the 90s and any criticism of that fact is evidence of a vast right wing conspiracy of which Fox News is a conspirator. These people are spooky and nuts. Why do they want to get back in the White House? Could it be to steal the rest of the silverware and molest more young interns? One thing I have learned about Slick Willey is when he starts wagging that God awful, ugly finger of his, you know the lies are spewing out of his mouth faster than an Indy race car. And you might guess that Hillary would come out and defend this guy, again. May God deliver us from this duo ever sneaking back into the White House and stinking the place up.

Have you seen the *great photoshop combining the facial features of Hillary and Bill?
The Baron, a good photoshopper himself, was most admiring. *This* is one skillful image:
Billary

Meanwhile,
Larry Kudlow dismisses Hillary as a presidential contender

Why in heaven's name does she want to go there? I thought they stole everything worth having the last time around.

If it weren't for the country's welfare -- domestic and foreign -- 'twould be an interesting reign, though. I can imagine the First Guy serving as her Press Secretary, too. He'd need a few interns to do his 'research' however, so that's probably out. There aren't many places she could safely stash him...perhaps tie him to a chair in the family quarters?

Bill and Hillary are prime examples of why the Democrats ought to adopt the following campaign slogan: "Unbridled Narcissism!"

I guess I shouldn't try to psychoanalyze too much, but the narcissism of so many of these Leftists is amazing!
