Remembering: Your 9/11 Resources

bushandchild.jpg

Take some time today to reflect on, pay tribute to, remember and pray for the victims of that horrible day.

First, Lorie Byrd at Wizbang has an excellent roundup of blog opinion, links and history. This should be your first stop.

CNN's Memorial List of 9/11 Victims with portraits and comments.

The Port Authority Police Memorial

Cantor Fitzgerald Families Memorial

Arlington Cemetary, a place for heroes, including many 9/11 victims and those who have died fighting our enemies, including in this 21st century war.

Department of Defense Memorial Page

USA Today: Flight 93 Victims

USA Today: Names of Victims on the Airplanes

Michelle Malkin has the voice of Kevin Cosgrove. His call to 911 from the South Tower has become famous for illustrating th ehumanity lost. it; snot easy to listen to, but we can honor him and all th evictims by sharing their pain, in whatever small way we can.

I remember this photo of President Bush. It was during a 2004 campaign stop in Lebanon, Ohio, near where I live. My memory of this moment is that President Bush was introduced to this young lady, who lost her Mother in the WTC attack. The President shook her hand, said what you probably say when you are brushing past thousands of people a day campaigning, and then walked on. He stopped after a few paces, turned back and gave her this big hug.

We were so fortunate to have this man in office when the Islamic savages attacked us. He is a great man and I am so proud of how he handled that day.

The look on President Bush's face in the photo above says it all to me. Where his predecessor loved to brag about how he "feels your pain," the look on President Bush's face showed how he "shares our pain."

GWB is surely flawed in certain ways, but the man is 100% genuine and he represents much of what I stand for.

I am grateful that he is our president and there is no doubt in my mind that he is on the side of the angels.

Seeing this picture, and watching him today at the three memorials for the lost was a stark reminder of why I admire and trust him. Sure, I have my differences with him on issues; however, his compassion, character and determination to rid this world as best he can from terror is outstanding. He is a man of great principle and kindness, honest emotion (unlike Clinton), and heart. I can not imagine the weight upon him today, you could see it on his face and on Laura's as well. I am proud he is my President. He slips off the beaten path once and awhile, but he I know will stay true to his core.

Another remarkable project for September Eleventh was the 2,996 project. Bloggers - large and small - took a name and paid tribute to them. The list of the projects can be found here: http://www.dcroe.com/2996/?page_id=2

I was proud to participate and paid tribute to Major Dwayne Williams who was murdered at the Pentagon.
