Don’t you dare allow the Dems and their footsolders, the Establishment Media, tell you that the election is over when you haven’t even voted yet. You see, that’s how they need it to be–they know they need to make you feel useless to further their effort to suppress the Republicans and moderate vote. And why would they need to do that? Because of stories like this which indicate that perhaps wishing, pretending and polling themselves into office isn’t enough; people actually have to cast ballots and it looks more and more like people are not going to vote for the Dems.
First, in this last week, after the Kerry troop slander, women broke for the Republicans in massive numbers, as are apparently a lot of other folks, and the Dems at the New Republic are, well, taken aback: (HT LGF)
THAT AWFUL PEW POLL
John Judis and I have been e-mailing about the alarming Pew poll that came out today. It reflects the same trends captured by that earlier Washington Post/ABC poll, except that the trends are, gulp, even more pronounced. Worse, the folks at Pew have graciously posted their cross-tabs, which makes it nearly impossible to rationalize the lousy results. As John points out, the fact that Democrats’ 15-point advantage among white women last month has turned into a 2-point disadvantage today is incredibly ominous. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as ominous as the erosion in the Democrats’ advantage among Northeasterners: from 26 points to 9. The Northeast is, of course, a region where Democrats are banking on roughly half a dozen pick-ups. That kind of dropoff isn’t going to get the job done. (One bright spot: the Dems’ advantage in the Midwest held steady.)
While Real Clear Politics has even better news regarding the Senate, which should also be an indication of what Americans are thinking and how they’re approaching the election in general:
Mason-Dixon Senate Polls Good News for GOP
In the key Senate races Mason-Dixon’s new batch of polls released this weekend on balance contain good news for the GOP.
Here is the movement in the Mason-Dixon polls from their previous round of polling in October.
Montana: GOP +3
Missouri: GOP +2
Tennessee: GOP +10
Virginia: Dem +5
Rhode Island: GOP +6
New Jersey: Dem +4
Pennsylvania: Dem +1
Ohio: GOP +2
Washington: Dem +1
Now get out there tomorrow and make your vote the only thing that counts. Not polls. Not the EM Spin Machine. Prove Al Jazeera and CNN wrong. Show the Left Elite that you’re in charge, you support the troops, and frankly, are not going to give victory to a group of people who have regularly condemned, maligned and slandered those brave men and women fighting to defend this nation. They deserve better than that. We all do.

This “reversal of fortune” for the Republicans is no surprise. There have been stories exposing how the media are overweighting the Democrats in their polls (moreso than usual, I would gather, given the media’s ideological bent). Plus, I have the feeling the press and their Democrat buddies have been believing their own hype over the past month. Never a good sign in a political campaign. Just remember “Dewey Defeats Truman.”
There are a number of factors that have made me more confident in the prospect of Republicans holding both houses of Congress, including the fact Howard Dean had to take out a loan for the Democrats’ stretch run. What I’ve seen is the political equivalent of the “perfect storm.” Things aren’t shaping up the way the media and the Democrats say they are, so they’re trying to keep Republican and conservative voters away. I don’t think it will work nearly as well as hoped.
I have some serious problems with the Republicans, and they don’t deserve to win in my opinion. However, the Democrats deserve to lose.
I’m on my way to the polls and am going to vote for candidates that belong to parties that A)Don’t make it a practice to insult our brave men and women in uniform during a time of war, B)Understand that we can’t negotiate with terrorist Islamic pricks…we can only kill them, C) Believe in the free market of both goods and services and IDEAS! Sorry Democratic Party, you lose and contrary to what the press has been telling me as a conservative Christian, I am enthusiastically voting for candidates that stand for what I stand for…
Glad it is almost over but can’t wait to see how it all turns out. I believe informed Republicans and Independents will continue to rally, leaving those on the Left dazed and confused once again.
And now it’s time for a dose of “The Laughing Baby” and onto the polls!
You can tell from my screen name where I live. Although I am a registered Dem (for now), I am really an Independent voter who cast his ballot enthusiastically for Joe Lieberman. When I voted in the primary back in August, Ned (Flanders) Lamont’s goofy poll election volunteer asked me to vote for her guy. At the time I told her that I could never vote for a guy who brought haters like maxine waters and al sharpton into my state. She clearly had no clue who they were back then. Today when I went to vote, I told myself that if Lamont’s person outside the polling place spoke to me again, I was going to blister them and tell them why their guy is such a slug. But when I passed the workers outside the school where I vote, it was the same moonbat from back in August and she didn’t say a word to me. So I respectfully walked past her silently and cast my vote for Joe. I wasn’t looking to cause a confrontation, but would have gladly responded. I think she made the right call by keeping her mouth shut.
Ned Lamont is a divider. Even after the primary was over, he ran TV ads calling Lieberman a “turncoat” for running in spite of his primary loss. Those ads quickly disapeared because while he called Joe a turncoat, he was also calling me a turncoat, which I didn’t appreciate. Lieberman is a man who has proven his ability to work with Republicans, which is very important to me. And the fact that Lamont was dumb enough to run those “turncoat” ads, proves once again that he is nothing but a political hack without a clue.
Lieberman will win BIG and it will be a good day for Connecticut.
Let’s do some scales, shall we?
Truely, Nov. 7 2006 will be remembered as a great day for democracy. Despite the best attempts at fearmongering by this abhorrent administration, the American people did their patriotic duty and voted the bums out.
However, this will also be a good day for true conservatism – the Dems elected yesterday are a right-leaning lot – it seems balancing the budget and cutting pork will be the order of the day. If Pelosi, et al want to stay in power they are going to have to govern from the middle, just as the ation seems to like.
