Condi Wants to Write Books, When She Should Write Her Resignation

About the mistakes the "United States" has made. She'll do this, of course, when she's "back at Stanford," and out of office. As you can imagine, I have a few comments for Secretary Rice.

The first thing you should write, Secretary Rice, is an apology within your resignation letter. You should then indeed go back to your academy where you can do less harm speaking about theory and ideas. Because when it comes to actually doing something, let alone the right thing, you are a complete and pathetic failure and have helped to put this nation in grave danger.

How dare you.

Rice says U.S. has made mistakes in Iraq

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday she is certain the United States has made mistakes in the Iraq war, but the world will have to wait until she is out of government to learn what she thinks they were..."As to whether the United States has made mistakes: of course, I'm sure we have," Rice told interviewer Saad Sillawi of the Arabic satellite television station Al-Arabiya..."When I'm back at Stanford University," she said, "I can look back and write books about what we might have done differently."

And now a suggestion or two. If you are going to write books about what went wrong, don't you dare hide behind blaming it on the nation as a whole--you blame yourself and your extraordinary abject failure as Secretary of State. Secondly, and even more important, is the demand, yes demand, that instead of contemplating your future as an author of opinion and fiction, why don't you actually do something now, while you're in office, to reverse the disaster caused by your refusal or inability to act against and punish the monsters of the world.

Kim Jong-Il of North Korea fired seven rockets and explodes a nuclear device. His punishment? We won't send that genocidal maniac his scotch or iPods anymore.

Ahmadinejad of Iran threatens, virtually daily, to destroy another country and kill every Jew in the Middle East. Simultaneously, he funds and arms death squads in multiple countries, and finances terrorism worldwide. An Iranian mullah has also issued a new murder contract on an author for "insulting Islam." His punishment? Meetings at the UN which go nowhere and accomplish nothing.

Vladimir Putin has his own nuclear death squads roaming around. One woman journalist critical of Putin is murdered in Moscow, a man is murdered via radiation poisoning in London, and another target on the Putin Death List has also been poisoned, with radiation and will most likely die of cancer sooner than later. In the meantime, at least two dozen locations in London are contaminated with radiation. Those Nuclear Death Squads are still on the loose with a list of targets reportedly much larger than those three brave souls. Punishment? Not even a discussion, a meeting or a statement from you or your office. Instead, this tyrannical murderous regime sits on the UN Security Council as it blocks attempts to sanction Iran, while simultaneously makes deals with that terror state to assist it in its nuclear bomb ambitions.

And when it comes to the war in Iraq, and the War on Terror in general--since you became Secretary of State, genocidal terror regimes have all made progress, have all had success, and all believe the U.S. does not have the capability or the will to stop them. You, Ms. Rice, are the problem. You and your senior advisors, men, like Philip D. Zelikow, (part of her "brain trust,") and who thankfully just resigned, are whom and what you should write about. You and your admiration for James Baker, a man whose 'study group' will recommend we get in bed with our terrorist enemies, are whom and what you should write about.

Your failure, and consequent emboldening of our enemies everywhere, is your subject, Ms. Rice. Not what the "United States" has done wrong.

The problem with Condi is the problem that all Secretary of States have. They come to believe that diplomacy is the solution to all problems as that is the mantra that comes out of the career bureaucrats who run the State Department. When you do get a leader with stones, like John Bolton, he gets savaged and can't even get confirmed. The path of least resistance is diplomacy. The fact that it's the quickest path to destruction is irrelevent. It keeps things a bit more comfortable in the present. It's how these people become conditioned and it's a pitiful thing to witness.

Tammy---I love you. Listen to you every Saturday out here on the "left coast" from 6 to 7. However, I think you're being a bit harsh on Condi. I agree that these are INCREDIBLY consequential times......and I also agree that Ms. Rice bumbled on her comment about writing her opinions in books someday when she's no longer in office. That just sounds WRONG, given the circumstances at hand.

That being said, I'm one of those who believe that there's a lot MORE going on right now under the radar screen than even the ideoligical news media can get their slimey hands on. I understand that Ms. Rice and Mr. Bolton are VERY close political allies (above & beyond the fact that as our U.N. rep, he answers back to her). That by ITSELF makes me feel relatively comfortable.

Give this mess another 6 months, and I think there may well be some significant progress in putting the clamps on some of these putrid thugs. Remember.......if the Barbara Boxer left had THEIR way, Condi Rice would be on trial as a "war criminal" as we speak. When half of the politicians in your own country are publicly UNDERMINING you on a daily basis, it makes it a lot harder to get things done.

Secretary Rice has more brains in one of her toenails than moonbats like Barbara Boxer have in their head. In the end, she will NOT play 'dead' to mad men like Kim Jung-Il or "Ahma-Dingle-Jihad".
