Ethiopia, a largely Christian nation, has launched air strikes against the Islamist terrorists who have been terrorizing Somalia, and declared a jihad against Ethiopia. Keep in mind, Somalia is lost today because Bill Clinton did not have the courage in 1993 to stay and destroy the Islamist warlords, then funded by Osama bin Laden. It was that retreat, after the infamous ‘Black Hawk Down’ tragedy, when OBL labeled America a “paper tiger,” and encouraged him to attack America on our home soil.

Ethiopia sent fighter jets into Somalia and bombed several towns Sunday in a dramatic attack on Somalia’s powerful Islamic movement, which has been battling this country’s government for control and has declared a holy war on Ethiopia…Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi went on television to announce his country was at war with the Islamic movement that wants to rule by the Quran. Sunday marked the first time Ethiopia acknowledged its troops were fighting in support of Somalia’s government, even though witnesses had been reporting their presence for weeks.
“Our defense force has been forced to enter a war to defend (against) the attacks from extremists and anti-Ethiopian forces and to protect the sovereignty of the land,†Meles said a few hours after his military attacked the Islamic militia with fighter jets and artillery.
On this Christmas day, send your prayers to the Christians of Ethiopia who are now alone in the Horn of Africa fighting the enemy of all civilization.

The terrorists are moving to control the horn of Africa, which would become another launching point as Afghanistan was. Guerillas are moving into Somalia in hopes of consolidating and expanding their stronghold. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the West not allow this to happen, or we’ll be back to pre-9/11 vulnerability. However, the US military is stretched thin at the moment, working to tame Afghanistan and Iraq, and to stand ready for trouble with Iran. So we’ve got a big problem in Africa that must be dealt with, but it’s not clear how we’re going to do it.
By the way, if you look at a map, you’ll see that this region is close to Saudi Arabia, which is another reason it’s strategically important.

What can we do to help? Isn’t it time private citizens interested in contributing to the defense of civilization be able to donate funds to militias or governments fighting the islamic radicals? Is it considered unChristian to fight back the oppresive forces of the mullahs?
