Finally some word of investigations surrounding the absurdity of the globe-trotting bio-hazard. Apparently Daddy-in-Law was more involved in tracking down his new son-in-law than previously revealed and the CDC wants to know exactly how involved Robert Cooksey was.
This should be interesting.
TB patient’s relative to be investigated
A federal microbiologist, the father-in-law of the man quarantined with a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis, will be investigated to see how he was involved in the case, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Saturday…
Speaker was in Europe when he learned tests showed he had not just TB, but an extremely drug-resistant strain known as XDR. Federal health officials said Friday that Cooksey had helped to find Speaker and diagnose his condition. They would not give any more information about the investigation.

From what I have read and heard in the news about TB’s father-in-law, I think that he should not be working at the CDC. He knew that Speaker had TB, was aware that it was XDR by the time Speaker was told not to travel back from Italy, and was not, from what I have gathered, adamant about Speaker not returning by way of a commercial flight. In the least, one would think that he would have attempted to at least protect his daughter. If he doesn’t even care about protecting those who he loves from such a terrible disease, he seems like a risk by being around all sorts of horrible diseases at the CDC.
Am I the only person who thinks this ‘coincidence’(such a rare resistant strain being contracted by a CDC researchers son in law) sounds a bit like a possible crime?
