Your Daily Reagan

Still taking those post name suggestions. In the meantime, here’s today’s Reagan Inspiration. Considering President Bush’s and the senate’s agenda today of trying to revive a bill that close to 80% of the American do not want, it is especially apropos:

“We are a nation that has a government — not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.” —Inaugural address, Jan. 20, 1981

I highly recommend Pat Buchanan’s “The Regime Against the Nation”

I think it’s clear that “We the People” need to do something, and rather quickly.

And I now consider myself to have been a useful idiot.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

–Thomas Jefferson

If the Congress will not show spending restraint, I intend to enforce spending restraint.

–President George Bush, 2001

Any Questions?
