So, I post this morning on the Edwards scum, I’m out most of the day, and come back to this. Classic. When I made a reference to Edwards’ obsession with Ann in the previous post, I did so because I couldn’t imagine them going after her again when it has become painfully clear how pathetic both he and his wife have become. Well, I was wrong, which does happen, albeit rarely.
Obviously, they must need money. Edwards, in fact, has cleared out his Nevada operation because they’re short on cash. And now he attacks Coulter because he’s void of ideas.
Or, of course, he might hate her simply because she has better hair than he does.
Edwards Calls Coulter ‘She-Devil’
ABC News’ Rick Klein Reports: Former Sen. John Edwards on Friday fired the latest round in his ongoing verbal feud with Ann Coulter, calling her a “she-devil” at a public event before quickly adding that he shouldn’t engage in name-calling…
“We know these people. We know their game plan. They’re going to attack us personally,” Edwards said. “They attacked Elizabeth personally, because she stood up to that she-devil Ann Coulter. … I should not have name-called. But the truth is — forget the names — people like Ann Coulter, they engage in hateful language.”
Priceless. It also must be fascinating, John, when your own blazing hypocrisy stuns even you! Yeah, just a little bit of projection there–pointing the finger at Ann accusing her of exactly what he and his wife have become–bitter, shallow, self-obsessed people, using hate to enrich themselves. Oh, and if you’re on the Edwards mailing list, expect an email within the next 24 hours asking for money. The stakes are higher now, after all, Coulter has been elevated from Irritating Mere Mortal to the so much more powerfully charmed “She-Devil. ” That’s got to be worth another $10-20 grand in cash, dontcha think?
One would think, with a spouse in a fight with terminal cancer, that they would want to spare her or at least their children the spectacle of dragging themselves through the mud in their desperate effort for power.
But no, what he wants apparently is the only thing that matters. This is now a man who thinks we will admire and elect someone who speaks more respectfully of the beast who wants to wipe every Jew off the face of the earth and is funding the murder of our troops, but despises an independent American woman with a sharp opinion.
For the Democrats, though, the Edwardses are indeed important and vauable. They illustrate that the Clintons aren’t the most disgusting people in this race.
In the meantime, Allah at Hot Air has the Silky Pony, once again, engaging in some of that special Silky Projection that he’s so good at.
For those of you who need a prime ron projection, here you have it:
* “Projection is the opposite defense mechanism to identification. We project our own unpleasant feelings onto someone else and blame them for having thoughts that we really have.”
* “A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits.”
* “Attributing one’s own undesirable traits to other people or agencies.”
* “The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest.”
* “People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others.
* “An individual who possesses malicious characteristics, but who is unwilling to perceive himself as an antagonist, convinces himself that his opponent feels and would act the same way.”

One is known by their friends, but in many respects, one is best known by their enemies. Being disparaged by the silky one and his minions is indeed high praise. Besides “that she-devil Ann Coulter” has a sort of ring, don’t you think? I don’t know Ms. Coulter personally, but suspect she’s rolling about the floor, gasping for breath, as she crawls to the computer to incorporate that one into her next column.
Hey, how about “that she-devil Tammy Bruce?” It just doesn’t wear out, does it?
John-Boy is projecting his own denial. He is simply not ready for prime time. If projection is a standard, his specialty is projectile vomiting—at least against Ann whose mind is legally better versed than his. His specialty is chasing ambulances, conning juries, and “studying poverty” by consulting with an offshore sub-prime mortgage hedge fund at the rate of a half-million dollars per year.
Anyone who believes that is studying poverty should vote for Mr. Elizabeth Edwards in the primaries—they deserve a goldilocks in the WH.
Footnote: At least he’s not using his hyper-testosterone wife to sling his nasty messages any more. Maybe she and Melissa Marcotte are planning another angle of attack?
Now, when I read what this man says in print, I can hear his twang in my head. And I am from the South. That is almost enough to run me off the internet for good…gack. I can’t escape him. Good post.
I agree that Edwards is a big phony and just looking to raise money. But at least he has the excuse of being a politician. Coulter is even worse with personal attacks. That conservatives take seriously someone who tosses around terms like “raghead,” and “faggot,” is disheartening. Worse than that, she used to be a decent writer. Now she just embarrasses herself every time she’s on TV. There are myriad ways to criticize Edwards without legitimizing Coulter.
Hey Mike, thanks so much for your insightful thought. How long were you on the toliet thinking that one up? Now crawl back into that hole of misery, hate, anger, hyprocrisy, and desperation that you tolerant liberals live in and call President Bush Hitler until hell freezes over.
Uh, Gettysburg, I wasn’t suggesting that one should call Ann Coulter or Tammy Bruce names, merely that the name John Edwards used was so odd, so silly, so reminiscent of 1950’s movie trailers for bad “wild women” movies that it makes him look, well, odd and silly.
So you see, if I suggested a movie titled “She-Devil From The Conservative Blogs!” starring Tammy Bruce, that would be what we call a “joke.” It’s funny, see? John Edwards isn’t, see?
Knowing Ann, she will undoubtedly take it as an unintended comment from that pansy, who is obviously quaking in fear of her.
That She-Devil, Ann Coulter. Mmmmm yummy!
That should be “unintended compliment”.
I wrote a scathing letter to the Edwards campaign. Ripping him for using Ann as a fund raising tool, along with my opinion of his putting obstetricians in the South out of business just to make his millions; I am a healthcare worker. And you know what? The bums actually wrote back asking me for money….
Then my followup letter was very bad; it was laced with many colorful metaphors….then they wrote and asked for more money.
My final act was to put the Edwards campaign on the same level as the worst of the worst porn….my blocked senders list.
Yes, Tammy, maybe you should incorporate the She-Devil moniker into one of your stingers. J
Why do I get the feeling that James has never actually listened to AnnCoulter, rather that he just has heard the standard leftist distortions of what they want her to have said?
Ann Coulter is legitimate. She has credibility. The fact that James doesn’t like her in no way takes anything away from either her legitimacy or her credibility.
And, oh yes, Ann has a law degree – and she would make a perfect next justice on the US Supreme Court!
I can’t say that I’m much a fan of Ann, nothing personal, I just find that her positions differ from my own a bit too often for me to keep up with her statments and such. That said, Edwards is such a hypocrite, especially after that whole blogging incident, to accuse anyone else of making hateful remarks. And yes, I’m certain Ann really got a good laugh out of the “she devil” comment… I know I did
