Rove Resigning as of August 31

Paul Gigot at the WSJ has the details. It seems, however, that Rove has been 'gone' from the White House for quite some time. President Bush's chief political strategist is indeed leaving as of August 31st. Rove is described by the president as the architect of his two White House victories, but it's become clear in the last couple of years, as the president's policy and approval ratings have become simply ridiculous.

I've been asking the hypothetical question on Tammy Radio for over a year, "Where's Karl Rove?" as we've seen the president flounder in so many ways.

This will also be the topic of my appearance on Fox News this morning. I'll have more soon...

Now that I'm in the car on the way to Fox, I just want to add another observation, which I hope I'm able to make on the air as well. Part of Gigot's article deals with Rove's 'myth,' or more accurately, the deluded obsession the left has had on Rove. They've placed on him all manner of control. The left thinks everyone from bloggers to all radio talk shows take orders from Rove. Scott over at Powerline has a good example of how deep the left's paranoid suspicion goes.

This indicates more than just the left being paranoid MalNars, it also illustrates how out of touch the Left Elite really are. As long as they dismiss the true grassroots revolutionary aspect of what's happening with us Commoners, they will continue to make decisions that will, in the end, destroy them. Now the question is: With Rove gone, who will the Left blame for our opinions and actions? Perhaps thy will follow the Right's lead, and start blaming The People directly for daring to reject the continuing failure of the Elite both domestically and abroad.

I think the Left's bigger worry should be who they'll blame starting Jan 2009.

One of my only regrets from the '04 GOP Convention was not running into Rowe...I was hoping to finally meet an "evil genius" in person.

The more I think about it, the more I am suspicious that Rowe's recent distance from the White House was HIS doing, not the other way around. Perhaps Karl is just as displeased with W as most of the folks that voted for him are.

Missed the FOX appearance this morning (the new CEO is in the house so I was busy tidying up the joint)...but is it really SAFE to be blogging while you're driving?? ;-)

Tammy,

I think what it is, is that the MalNars always need an "enemy" to blame for their failings and to fight against. There is something in the nature of MalNar leftist thinking that needs to make themselves a victim. So Soviet Russia was always claiming in their early days too be under attack by "internationalist capitalist forces" and then later shifted to blaming the "internationalist Zionist forces". And once you start to understand the Nazis as just another MalNar leftist outfit, you can see why they needed the Jews to blame, too. They couldn't exist on their own, they needed to invent something to be against.

Same with the democrats, they need a villain, so Karl Rove has been their choice. Not to mention, they have been putting out a tremendous volume of propaganda over the years about how stupid G.W. Bush is, so they had to have an evil mastermind in the background.

Same with Hillary Clinton, she blithely put the concept of "the vast right wing conspiracy" out there years ago, and just recently said "If anybody tells you there is no vast right wing conspiracy, tell them that New Hampshire has proven it in court. We have the facts, and we're going to make that a crime." The scary part is that I think she actually believes it. She and the democrats desperately need someone to blame for their failures, and they cannot admit, even to themselves, what incompetent boobs they really are.

I don't look at Rove the way the left does, but am just as happy to see him go as they are. He should've left years ago.

I think he's the one that sold us the big lie--that Bush was more like Reagan than his own father--and now the truth has come to light. I also believe Rove to be a big pusher of open borders. He was quoted in a NRO article saying he didn't want HIS son picking vegetables.

Everything became clear when I found out Rove is an atheist while reading a Chris Hitchens article where he referred to Rove telling someone he "was not fortunate enough to be a man of faith."

Why would Bush, who proclaims to be a man of such great faith, have as his number one advisor a man who doesn't even believe there is a God?
There is a verse in the Book of James, chapter one that says "a doubleminded man is unstable in all his ways."
I think that can be applied to administrations too.

Finally, if Bush is such a great man of faith, why does he feel it's his job to try and fix the world. At some point, you just have to leave some things to God. (thus, the FAITH in Him) Man's solutions are usually the wrong solutions.

The leftists have certainly looked at talk radio & bloggers as being under the spell of Rove, The Lone Entity. The left project in this manner because it is they who take marching orders from a lone entity themselves - these days, it's from Soros.

Creating enemies where none are warranted is the hallmark of The Left, so it will be interesting to see who the recipient of such vitriol will be next.

Rove has been suspiciously silent/out of the picture for a long time. There is something at work here and you made a great observation about the Rice/Baker connection this a.m. on Fox.

I think it's fitting to note that whatever suits Bush's interests at any given moment is all that matters to the president. Once the Dems gained control last November, he was quick to dismiss Rumsfeld. He's already had Rove for his campaigns, so what use is Rove to him now? Damage control?

It may be worth also pointing out that once Bush won in '04, he abandoned us, too.

Hi Tink,

Listen, with all due respect, Rove's religion (or lack thereof) should not be a determining factor on whether or not he should have served so closely to Bush. In fact, we should be concerned with a president who wants ONLY people of his faith next to him. Should there be a litmus test for every person working beside the president or seeking a particular post?

Rove served his purpose and knew how to do his job. That's what he was hired to do.

On another note: Rove may have sold us the idea of W being more like Reagan than his own father, but W did nothing to deny it. So which man is more true?

I know the article you are referring to where Rove allegedly reveals his atheism. It was brought up a few months ago on a Bill Maher segment, too. Frankly, I do not know the truth of the article but I do know this: it says something quite good about Rove that he would go to great lengths to be friends with and promote a man of faith and never mention his own publicly.

Not that this is that relevant, but I’m a stickler for accuracy. In his “farewell address” to the President yesterday, Rove said that he would be joining the ranks of those the President meets on the road: those who say they pray for him. Then he said he would continue to ask for the blessings of the Almighty on the President and his family. That does not sound like the statement of an atheist or nonreligious person.

Secondly, for those who don’t think Karl Rove had a role in promoting amnesty, watch this disgusting speech of his at Hillsdale College’s Churchill Dinner, which Laura Ingraham attended and reported. The illegal alien sob stories are especially touching.
I have to say I’m also glad to see him go, if nothing but to watch the liberals mourn their favorite villainous mastermind.
