Huckabee: Carter With a Little Clinton Mixed In

Yeah, exactly what we need in the White House, another pandering, manipulative Tax and Spend, undisciplined 'man of faith.' Huckabee represents the worst of Clinton manipulation and spin, along with Carteresque incompetence projecting his own personal lack of discipline as he tries to tax or ban everything that moves.

On this segment from Hannity and Colmes from last night, Huckabee asks if we have no decency bringing up his horrific involvement in paroling murderers and rapists, then tries to wiggle out of his extraordinary role getting one rapist freed who eventually murdered a woman. This is a priceless exchange and exposes the Huckabee for the shallow, self-obsessed MalNar he really is. Just remember Carter when you hear that falsely soft, little Southern delivery because that thing he's holding behind your back is a shiv...

By the way, the Dems understandably want Huckabee to be the Repub nominee. Why? Because if the race were between Huckabee and Clinton, even I would vote for Clinton. That's how bad this freak really is, and they know it.

For those of you unaware of how Huckabee is Carter redeux, take a gander at the Club for Growth's exposure of his depraved support for taxing everything that exists:

Romney, in the meantime, hits Huckabee in a new campaign ad for his untenable position on illegal aliens. It could have been stronger, but the fact is Huckabee has flip-flopped on the issue simple because he knows being honest about his position will hurt him at the polls. No matter what he says now, Huckabee is an Open Border Liberal who happens to be a 'man of faith.' He is Jimmy Carter with some Clinton thrown in.

Haven't we had enough of little known Southern Governors (particularly from Arkansas). The thought of another Jimmy Carter in the White House is chilling. If the yahoos foist Huckabee (even that name is comical) on the GOP then we will deserve the landslide defeat we will get. Rudy, Romney or even McCain would be better candidates.

You are absolutely right about Huckabee being the Democrats dream opponent. His nomination would mean a sure win for Hillary. On the other hand, Guiliani is their worst nightmare. If my mother wasn't worried about her father coming back to haunt her if she voted for a Republican, Rudy would be her guy. She is not a fan of any of the Democrats.

I just hope the evangelical Republicans heed your advice to look past solitary issues and see the big picture. We need to band together to stop the Clinton machine.

When I first listened to Huckabee, I liked him. He was glib, quick and articulate. After hearing him speak more often, I begin to see the signs of slickness. I keep thinking He was the republicans version Of Bill Clinton. And being a paranoid suspicious type person I wonder if he might not be a stalking horse for Hillary..

Huckabee is unbelievably awful: if he were the nominee, I doubt I'd vote for Hillary but there's no way in the world I'd vote for him. Expect an independent candidate to appear if that happens.

The lineup of Republican candidates is a definite letdown for Evangelicals. To non-Christian Republicans,it's easy to say let's vote for Giuiani or Romney....anyone,as long as Hillary doesn't get in the White House. But for Evangelicals,it's not that easy. Many of us believe that there is a real, living God who judges nations according to the actions of it's leaders. Twice we saw President Bush take action against Israel...not military, but political pressure to give up land or to tone down attacks on Palestinians...and disaster always followed.

In August 2001 Bush asked Ariel Sharon to stop attacking Palestinians,to give the peace process a chance....and we also gave money to the PLO(indirectly)...several weeks later we were attacked on 9-11. In late July 2005,Bush pressured Israel to give up parts of the Gaza strip and the world watched as thousands of Jewish settlers were forcibly removed from their homes,by the Israeli military itself. We also saw the Palestinians cheering!

In late August, hurricane Katrina almost wipes out New Orleans.More than two years later it STILL hasn't recovered. As a Christian,I am very worried about who is put in office because their actions could lead to disaster for this land that I love. That's why it isn't as easy for me or other Christians to support just any candidate. I care about America and everyone who lives here. But I will say that I don't like Huckabee, partly because of his effort to give children of immigrants a cheap college education. That will only promote further immigration. I'm telling you,it's gonna be a challenging election for Evangelicals! Thanks for letting me express my opinion Tammy!

... and an independent means Clinton wins. Yep, he's Hillary's dream man for sure. J

Posted by: jeweytunes [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 11, 2007 06:07 PM

I'm really not too sure why people have gotten behind Huckabee. He's liberal on illegal immigration (despite his recent endorsement), foreign policy, and fiscal conservatism. There are a lot of conservatives that need to start paying attention to policy and positions and vote accordingly. Huckabee is not the candidate for me.

Posted by: davenp35 [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 11, 2007 06:23 PM

Huckabee is not my candidate and never was. Conservatives have this belief that he is the most Conservative-but I see this falling fast. He has peaked, he is about to crash. JMHO..
Romney and Huckabee will fight it out in Iowa, we know that..however, Romney has his own problems with the GOP base and it has nothing to do with Mormonism and everything to do with his record in MA.
Huckabee is our Howard Dean and I implore the GOP primary voter to get serious now. The other side is gearing up for a battle royale and frankly I am sick of this party split..Sorry Tammy, but this is getting serious now..
Great post!!

I agree wholeheartedly about your feelings towards Huckabee! And WHY are the "conservative" talk show hosts in talk radio (not you Tammy) talking him up?!

Here's a guy that came out of nowhere and wasn't until now considered a top tier guy. And now he's all over the place. What's WRONG with people? Still I hardly EVER hear the names Hunter or Tancredo even mentioned! Isn't it possible that since Huckabee has gained traction that there might be hope for the real conservative candidates?

Huckabee IS an open borders guy and I will NEVER vote for him. However, have you heard that even the Minutemen are now supporting him? And I think I also heard this morning that Roy Beck from NumbersUSA is also getting behind Huckabee!! Can you believe THAT?

Someone please tell me....WHERE ARE THE CONSERVATIVES???

Its amazing how the American people have been taken in by smooth talking, lying, dissembling, snake oil salesmen in the last 30 years: Carter, Clinton, Bush 1, Bush 3, and now, if the MSM gets its way, Huckster Huckabee. The only honest man elected President in the past 30 years is Ronald Reagan.

Posted by: St. Thor [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 12, 2007 06:48 AM

For once, Tammy, you made my jaw drop. This occurred after hearing you say you would vote for Clinton over Huckabee. Both are bad news, but even Huckabee cannot be worse than Clinton.

Though both are tax-and-spend liberals, open border whacks and hate having their feet held to the fire, Clinton is capable of taking even more from us than Huckabee would be able to take back as an Evangelical president (though I agree he would still do damage). If Clinton gets her socialized medicine underway (and she will), we are going to see a spike in government take-over even Huckabee cannot master from a far-right position. She has an entire far-left machine behind her which is far more powerful than Huckabee and those supporting him.

Unfortunately, I have family who are excited about Huckabee right now. It was rather difficult hearing their reasons for supporting him as much as it is difficult for me to believe you would also vote for Clinton if it came down to one or two issues. And you know something? I don't think you would do that because when it comes down to the wire, you're an American first. I am, too.

If it comes down to a Clinton & Huckabee vote, I will have to drink lots the night before, maybe smoke crack on the way (I'm sure I can get some from someone Bush pardoned...) and carry a flask into the voting booth, hold my nose, and vote against Clinton.

Now that I have that off my mind, I'll still buy you a martini someday, dammit! ;)

It is unfortunate that the Republican Party has been taken over by the Evangelicals. The simplistic narrow mindedness, that is their trait in so many areas,(the earlier respondent's reference to Katrina, is a prime example), has now spilled over into the Political Arena. They seem to be holding the Republican Party hostage.
It is a proven fact that a candidate that runs on an agenda that appeals to the extreme wing of either party has no chance of winning.
This is why we see Hillary trying to pass herself off as a "middle of the road" candidate.

The Last Debate: Immigration
Giuliani-"Sanctuary city, I didn't run a sanctuary city. I just let illegal people stay there as long as they didn't make me look bad."
Romney- "I can't be responsible for who I invite to my home."
Huckabubba- "I only gave free college tuition to the one that we had exploited for their entire lives."
McCain "Amnesty? Now nobody said anything about amnesty."
Old Fred- "zzzzzz..Uh, What was the question?"
Pllleeeese!!! Girlsgotrythem asked where are the conservatives. Here I am, baby. And I'm voting conservative if it hairlips every listener Hannity's got!
I'm taking my pen with me when I go to vote in the generals and if Tancredo & Hunter aren't on the ballot, I'm putting them on it myself.
Tom Tancredo & Duncan Hunter have over 90% approval ratings with the ACU. And I refuse to vote for a liberal no matter what party they're in.

Sorry so long winded, but I am so disgusted with the party I helped build and the way it has been highjacked by the Bushintons & the Clintushes I could just puke! Bad & worse. Weak or weaker, NAFTA or CAFTA, sell us down the river or sell us down the river faster.AAAAHHHHGGGGG!!!!! ICAN"T STAND ANYMORE!

I had really liked Huckabee for his support of the fairtax. And some of his positions but as he has come into more light I am not liking what I see. I'm LDS and his little back handed comment thats coming out in New York times magazine. As a baptist preacher I think he knows a bit about Mormons. It's the competition for god's sake. Thats like saying he doesn't know much about radical Islam as a politician.

Also the pardon of the rapist sits very wrong with me. Compassion is great how about compassion for the victims families? Jesus can save the rapists soul but while he's here on earth let him serve out his time in prison.

Hi Tammy. I’m sorry but I have to add myself to those concerned about your insistence that you will vote for Hil before you’ll vote for Huck. I just heard your segment about how Hillary is a problem but can be controlled, etc. No she cannot, at least not sufficiently nor quickly enough to prevent critical damage. Too much has been knocked out of the country’s most basic foundation by the liberal agendas. Too much has been taken away. I believe in America and that we are strong, but simply consider how close we came to swallowing the amnesty debacle – that would have struck a horrific blow. We just don’t have the luxury of taking many more blows. Hillary and the Left are salivating in anticipation of doing just that. You talk often of the Clinton machine and extraordinary power they wield, illustrating that they are very much in control.

Okay, so we’re faced with “out-of-principle-NOT-voting-for-Hillary” versus “out-of-principle-NOT-voting-for-Huckabee.” As much as I would dread voting for Huck, I see no contest with the sheer PRINCIPLE of NOT voting a Clinton back into the White House. I disagree that Huck is ultimately a bigger danger. He may be an extremist bigot, etc, but Presidential powers ain’t always what they used to be in terms of broad social influence. Huckabee cannot single-handedly swing the whole social structure back from the extreme hold the liberals currently have on it. (I’d frankly be thankful for anyone to drag it back toward the center, in the correct ways.) But the liberals CAN finish tearing down what little we have left in the areas of American identity and moral infrastructure, etc.

But here’s the deal – we are putting the cart before the horse in the Republican race. Our job is to get our asses out and vote in the PRIMARIES and stop this before it gets to having to face such a gut-wrenching choice. We have the power now, so let’s exercise our principles proactively. JMHO. J
