Crying Her Way to the White House

Really, is this what we have to deal with now? The first viable woman presidential candidate, so controlled and machine driven, she has to cry to get us to believe she's a 'real' person. One small step for Hillary, one giant leap for Crybabies.

Clinton reveals turning point in race for White House

Hillary Clinton revealed today the turning point which helped to resurrect her presidential campaign and stall the seemingly unstoppable bandwagon of her rival Barack Obama.

She described the incident in a New Hampshire diner when she almost broke into tears as a "wonderful moment" that allowed voters to "get a sense of why I do what I do". [...]

In a series of interviews on the early morning US news shows, Clinton said she believed her display of emotion had been a factor in the turnaround that reversed a double-digit deficit in opinion polls.

The clip, which was shown repeatedly on television, aired a rare vulnerability.

"I'm really glad I had a chance to say what I believe in my heart," she told CNN. "People realised the reason I do this is I love this country so profoundly. When the cameras turn off and the speeches are done, what have we actually done to improve people's lives."

Well, I hope the 'feminist' left are happy with the tactic. It may work within their self-indulgent, whining ranks, but in the general, feminists like me and other normal people are going to want a president driven by logic, reason, and compassion. No matter how much whining Gloria Steinem does about 'gender' politics, this is about who we can trust and who is going to keep us safe and that ain't Hillary, the woman, who along with her husband, opened the door to September 11th.

I keep waking up wondering what the hell planet I suddenly ended up on. I can't believe this is now the best we have to offer up in this country.

"I'm really glad I had a chance to say what I believe in my heart," she told CNN.

Well, geez, does this mean she hasn't been speaking about what she believes from her heart until her tear-jerker?

Christ, this woman needs hormone therapy.

Could her candidacy be any more of a joke? Her political 'accomplishments' were given to her by her serial-philandering world-class misogynist of a husband as payback for repeatedly saving his sorry rump. And now this glorified coattail-riding doormat wins her first primary w/the oldest female trick in the book: crying. OMG...

Ok, she made some tears that didn't have rust in them or were made of oil, so she did prove she's human.

Now she needs to come up with a way to prove she's a woman. Maybe go on stage next to Rosie O'Donnell. I think I could prove I was a woman that way!

So many people are into responding with emotion first then reason second. It's the other way around! You know that's great that Hillary is capable of crying on screen. Will she be able to persuade Ahmadinejad with those tears? Give me a break!

As it was asked several places in the 'sphere yesterday, "what will it take to rid us of the Clintons?!". Thought we were on our way to freedom after Iowa, then NH hit. Then John McCain springs up out of nowhere like a tree out of the ground in a Walt Disney cartoon, "SPROING!". GAAAAAAAA! I keep hoping cooler heads will prevail as the process wears onward. Americans must return to the days of being able to THINK with our heads/minds instead of our emotions. Emotions seem to be the only currently driving force. Help!

This showing of the ' softer, compassionate ' side of Hillary may have worked this time on the gullible voters but this show of emotions will get old real quick. Osama bin-Laden was seen with tears in his eyes also, but they were tears of joy.

I take a different view on why she cried and agree with Dick Morris's assessment of it in his column from yesterday. He knows these people.

HERE COME THOSE TEARS

The real reason was that her frustration at not being able to control events boiled over and metastasized into tears.
I know because I saw it once before in 1994 after the Democrats lost Congress due, in large part, to her failed health care reform initiative. A few days after the election, she sobbed to me over the phone that she was “bewildered” and that “nothing I do seems to work out.” She confessed to being “totally at a loss” and not to grasp why “nothing is working.”
Hillary is a control freak whose most admirable quality (yes, there are some) is her amazing self-discipline. She wears the right clothing, exercises properly, eats sensibly, stays on script when she answers questions, memorizes the briefing papers, follows the strategy, hits all the right talking points, gets her makeup and hair just right. So why is she losing? The essential equation for her is that if she disciplines herself sufficiently and prepared arduously, she will prevail.

As Tammy always says, read the whole thing.

Folks, folks, these are the times when we need to keep cool heads. What goes up (Mike Huckabuck in Iowa) must come down (Huckabuck coming in third and being smoked by twenty percentage points by Mitt Romney). Hillary and McCain are the same way.

McCain came in first in the 2000 New Hampshire primaries...and George W. Bush still won. His campaign won't gain much from this victory either, maybe just enough of a push to get him to Super Tuesday where he'll get smacked around like Barney Fife at a biker bar.

And Hillary? She's still Hillary, and that makes her vulnerable (and not in a good, electable way). If the past few months are any indication, New Hampshire was a fluke. She will win Michigan, I think, due to a lack of competition, but no amount of tears will change who she is. The only thing she has going for her for now is the delegate count, and that can change quickly after Super Tuesday.

So, buck up, campers! We aren't turning into Bizarro World...yet. :-)

I'll agree with that, TLINDAMAN, I like your take on the subject. Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, the year is still young and much can happen. Just waiting for the left to suffer a good "smack down"...
