FBI, Congress Solve Every Problem Known To Man

Which explains their continued obsession with Roger Clemens and steroid use. What are the chances when they're done with this they'll investigate drug use by politicians?

FBI Opens Investigation of Roger Clemens

The FBI has opened an investigation into whether baseball great Roger Clemens lied to Congress when he denied taking steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs.

Law enforcement officials say the inquiry will focus on whether Clemens or his former personal trainer Brian McNamee (MAC-nah-mee) lied when they testified under oath about the use of steroids.

In testimony Feb 13 , Clemens told Congress he never used either drug. McNamee testified that he injected the seven-time Cy Young Award winner with steroids and human growth hormone at least 16 times from 1998 to 2001.

The FBI inquiry was prompted by a request Thursday from the House Oversight Committee, which singled out statements by Clemens as possibly false.

I've never understood the federal government's involvement with baseball. On the bright side, however, the more time they waste on Clemons, the less time they'll have to waste on legislation that intrudes on the lives of the rest of us.

I think the FBI should open an investigation into whether Congress has lied to us.

Seems the problem with Muslim terrorists has gone away. Or is GWB working to get Obama elected? How very dumb!?#$%@#!

In ancient Greece there was a practice known as ostracism. If you received the most votes, you were ostracized and had to leave the city for 10 years. I think we should do something like that with politicians. Every election we could cast a vote for who in the federal government we want to ostracize. They would then have to permanently step down and their office filled by special election.

Can anyone say, "Grandstanding"?

The FBI couldn't connect the dots when those islamic terrorists savages were planning their destruction on New York and DC. But somehow they're going to investigate Clemens, a soon to be retired baseball player?!?!?!??? Who cares!!!

Speaking as a baseball fan, many of us see this as a phenominal waste of money and time. No amount of head-hunting or persecuting of steroid users is going to change what has already happened. Put asterisks next to the 1998 season, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens and let's move the hell on. This is ridiculous.

Of course, we wouldn't be in this mess if Bud Selig was even REMOTELY competent to serve as commissioner...but this is what you get when you give the job to a former used-car salesman: bread and circuses.

The punch line to all of this - naturally - is that while all these holier-than-thou congressmen go after the players that used (and/or allegedly used) steroids and HGH and waste millions of tax dollars in the process, one of the main suppliers, ex-Met clubhouse attendant Kirk Radoimski, sits at home on five years probation, getting the last laugh on everybody.

And there STILL hasn't been any sweeping drug testing reform in the MLB...
