Thank you Tammy for your thoughtful words.

Regarding your other issues I say, live and let live and, keep the government out of the bedroom and out doctors' offices where both social liberals and social conservatives want government to encroach. My body is my property not the government's. However these are not the major issues of the presidency today. Neither is race or gender.

On handling America's vitality and strategic place in the world Mitt Romney emerges as the clear leader. The rest can return to the senate where they may or may not even belong.

!!! MITT ROMNEY for president !!!

I suppose you could call me a FredHead for Mitt, since I really wanted Fred to be the nominee. Due to his withdrawal the logical choice is Mitt.

Not only is he pro-business and a proven chief of state, he is for border control, strong defense and realizes our own recourses are the best way to start down the road of energy independence.

McCain wants to tighten controls and raise taxes on business', open borders and lock up ANWR. Sorry Senator, Mitt will get my vote in the Alaska Caucus on Tuesday.

I am also for Romney at this point. I will not vote for McCain. I would rather vote for the real democrat over the 'pretend' conservative. But actually I just won't vote for anyone if McCain wins the primary. I will vote for state reps and such but I will leave the president check boxes blank. I cannot vote for McCain who is as conservative as Hillary and as far right as Obama. I will not vote for him. I voted for Perot twice. I understand that is why the democrats won those elections. If the republicans do not want to lose this one too then they better choose Romney in the Primaries. I would have preferred Fred or Hunter, but I will vote for Romney. I will NOT 'hold my nose' and vote for any idiot the New York Times endorses as the republican candidate. If there is any 'nose holding' to be done it will have to be McCain supporters voting for Romney, or nothing.

I think the man is brilliant, honest, strong, and has more character than I have seen in a politician since Reagan. One of my favorite Romney quotes, was when a reporter said to him "I represent the people..." to which he instantly (and respectfully) replied "no, I represent the people, you represent the media, and are supposed to be unbiased."

Being from Utah, I'm glad I don't have to worry about how people are going to vote here.

I still want to slap him upside the head for not deluging the media for the pro amnesty pig McCain really is, which could of changed the FL outcome.

DARK-HORSE-MI says:

"I have yet to see one Republican candidate endorse Mitt after withdrawal. Duncan Hunter supports Huckabee (I don't get that); Fred Thompson has yet to endorse anyone (even though his views seemed prettly close to Romney's); and Rudy plugs for McCain (I don't get that either)."

Big thumbs WAY WAY up Tammy. I pray that this kind of momentum will work in educating the masses exactly who our candidate this fall should be and that will be reflected next week. I love this post! This is why you are one of my divas!!

Whoops, that was a typo! MI has 30 delegates, not 20. I suppose they could round that up to 1 after Thompson withdrew. But I don't know which state that one delegate for Rudy came from. It's kind of moot, now. I see as of today he has 0.

I'm not sure why Edwards still has 11 delegates since he's also out.

Why on earth is Ron Paul still in the race? He has yet to get even one delegate. Give it up, Ron.

A very eloquent and thoughtful post, Tammy. This is the time for authentic conservatives to really make ourselves heard and seen. As you've noted, we did it with the amnesty fight and we can do it again.

McCain does NOT speak for us.

So, is there a nickname for Rudy voters who support Romney now that Rudy's out? What are we, "RudyRomniacs?"

I have yet to see one Republican candidate endorse Mitt after withdrawal. Duncan Hunter supports Huckabee (I don't get that); Fred Thompson has yet to endorse anyone (even though his views seemed prettly close to Romney's); and Rudy plugs for McCain (I don't get that either). Tammy hit the nail on the head when she said the Rudy fans are going for Romney as a second choice. If we wanted McCain, we would have picked McCain in the first place.

Also, does anyone know what happens with the delegates after candidates drop out? Rudy had one. That could have been from my home state because Rudy had 3% of the vote and MI has only 20 delegates ('cuz MI and FL were naughty and had to be punished). I did the math.

Tammy, great post. I am kind of new here but have been lurking for months and months...

We were originally supporting Rudy Giuliani and now we'll support Romney, of course, with the proviso if McCain is the nominee, he'll have our vote. Reason being is the alternative, not so good even though the other alternative may not be either.

I've just heard time and time again that some people don't like Romney or don't like the fact he's a Mormon (who cares I say) and even some conservative type pundits say if he was the nominee obama or hillary would be a shoe-in.... I just cannot see that myself but was wondering what others who support Romney are thinking about this matter.

My husband is retired military and some people are surprised we don't automatically support McCain. Now if he is the nominee, yes, we'll vote for him howbeit reluctantly...

Yes Tammy. I mailed in my absentee ballot Tuesday morning (Before the debate) because I knew Mitt was my Man!!

I changed my party from DEM to REP in order to vote in the primaries. No regrets.

Being self-employed, I understand Mitt's language on the economy better & better and I am certain he will surround himself with a strong cabinet of advisors for advice on Military foreign affairs. If McShamnesty & Rudy really care about our country, they'll be there for him as well.
