Thinking Is Hard!

thinkingishard.jpeg

That's the reason, at least, an illegal alien has given to explain her opposition to her workplace requirement she speak English on the job.

...Expecting a baby in May, Rios expressed concern about speaking out publicly against the policy. However, she said she felt compelled to do so because she believes it is unfair.

"This is my first language -- Spanish -- and it's hard for me sometimes when I'm speaking. I have to stop and think what I'm going to say in English," Rios said. [Yeah, that's called "learning another language."]

She said supervisors have been cracking down and told her she could not say "hola," but "hi."

Hmm, yeah, that "thinking" part when it comes to saying hello. Now that's a back-breaker! I wonder if she's planning on buying extra diapers when she as the baby--you know, some for the infant and some for herself?

See, this is why we need people like this woman. We just don't have enough MalNars in this country, so we need to import them. /sarcasm

Tom Hanks' Jimmy Dugan answering Geena Davis' Dottie Hinson in "A League of Their Own," after she says that baseball is hard: "It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, EVERYONE would do it."

Let's see how long it takes me to get a job in Mexico where I insist on speaking only English.

She seems to be taking this America is a free country thing too far, why should she have to do anything to be here, work here (thats not "free"), she should call a labor attorney and sue (sarcasm).

What's sad is that our country, which the left ironically claims to be so racist and xenophobic, is *too* accommodating to people with this attitude. Next time you're annoyed by the recording on the phone that says "Press 2 for Spanish" (in Spanish of course!), it's because we insist on pampering people like this.

Why, why, why?

She's ILLEGAL,right? WHY is she being interviewed instead of in cuffs?WE don't take our laws seriously, why should anyone else? Our society gets more gutless every day. This insults those who fought and died for our Freedoms.

Sheesh - don't too hard on her. Even legal residents aren't taught to think by our gummint skuuls.

That's why stories such as this one - http://brogdensmuse.menofhonorministry.org/Politics/Afraid!.htm and this one - http://brogdensmuse.menofhonorministry.org/Humor/Teacher_Arrested.htm

show up from time-to-time.

I once worked with a mechanic in a shop in San Pedro. His name was Jose and he was from Acupulco. During the course of my thirty plus years in auto repair, many (if not most) of the techs I worked with here in Los Angeles were Hispanics. I've learned basic Spanish and can understand pretty much everything if it's spoken "dispasio" aka slowly.

This brings me back to my friend Jose. When we conversed, I spoke only Spanish to him and he spoke English only to me. In a very short time he learned to speak English. Spanish is not a difficult language to learn so it stands to reason with a little effort that the same in reverse is true. This woman in the article is either lazy or stupid. Just what the U.S. needs.

Good points. It's also why they don't arrest illegal immigrants who have the cajones to protest by the thousands in the streets. (You know, the ones the Democrats keep telling us are "hiding in the shadows").

By the way, check out a post on my blog (Shameless plug, I know) about a *legal* immigrant I know. She's being forced to leave the country after nine years because she can't renew her visa or get a green card. Think the MSM would ever interview *her*?
