Laurean before and after his arrest in Mexico. As a side issue, onsidering the difference in appearance, now you can see why Islamists have such an easy time using the Mexican border.

In Mexico of course, which means he gets his Gets Off Death Row card for free because we allow that depraved and incompetent Mexican narco-government to call the shots. Just one more reasons of thousands to build that physical fence.

Marine Killing Suspect Caught in Mexico

A Marine suspected of killing a pregnant colleague told police he slept in fields and survived by eating fruit that he found during a three-month manhunt that ended with his arrest in western Mexico, authorities said.

Mexican police carrying out an anti-kidnapping operation in the small town of Tacambaro arrested Cpl. Cesar Laurean on Thursday.

He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, who had accused him of rape. Her burned remains were found in January in the backyard of his home near Camp Lejeune.

Bearded, thin and chained at the wrists and ankles, Laurean spoke briefly with The Associated Press while being held at the Michoacan state Attorney General's Office in Morelia, the state capital. He appeared slightly disoriented and stared straight ahead, his eyes occasionally filling up with tears as he answered a reporter's questions in terse phrases...

Laurean, of Las Vegas, was born in Guadalajara, but family members there have said he moved to the U.S. more than 10 years ago...Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson has agreed not to seek execution in order to win the cooperation of Mexico, which refuses to send anyone back to the U.S. unless provided assurance they will not face a death sentence.

Maybe Mexico will just fail to notice that the military has concurrent jurisdiction to prosecute in this case. The story doesn't mention any assurances that the JAG wouldn't seek the death penalty.

I have heard that one reason for the high conversion to Islam in prison is because the Muslim Brothers offer protection from rape that no other group does.

Hopefully, he will be tried separately by the Navy JAG. And, if found guilty, he should get a long drop to the end of the rope.

the bodies pile up and nothing is done about it. it's woman hating on a massive, reprehensible scale from the killing to doing naught about it and no one cares- but the life of a single worthless, murdering, cowardly male scum bag is something international treaties are made of .

in some societies rape let alone murder( and the killing of cats) was punishable by death . this seems perfectly reasonable to me.

vive mexico in the absolut world . but america sucks always to the international community.

Apparently, while he killed his victim, he also killed an unborn child--his child.
Just let the inmates of which ever prison he goes to know about that.
They will do their own death sentence on him-unless he wants to live out life in Solitary Confinement.

Dave J, thank you for taking the time to respond and bringing me up to date re military executions. I did follow the link you provided. Truth be told, I did not know that the US Armed Forces had (ahem) "modernized" their execution method. Uncomfortably too PC for me. The noose fits the crime and criminal better, as would also a single pistol shot through the back of the head.

Re: Photo on the right (with beard after capture)-What is that scumbag grinning about? He murdered (allegedly) an innocent woman and an unborn baby, probably his own! Doesn't that psychotic grin kinda make you wish you could pull the switch on "Old Sparky" yourself? It does me. As a lawyer, I know all about the presumption of innocence and all that but I'm going way out on a limb here and assume he's guilty.
