McCain Begins Pathetic Pander for Illegal Alien Vote

sombrerobeach.jpg

McCain, once again, is more concerned with the votes of Foreign Nationals and their supporters than he is with Independent Conservatives. Yes, there may be 20 million illegals, but at least not all of them will be voting in November, especially with the USSC upholding the constitutionality of voter ID laws. We ICONS, however, will be voting and we also happen to be American citizens. It still amazes me that he feels we will at some point just automatically fall in line.

He's wrong. When wishing everyone a happy Cinco de Mayo yesterday, he announced a Spanish website for his campaign (and we all know that American citizens don't know how to speak English, nor should we encourage them to), and his intention to speak at La Raza's (The Race) conference in July.

McCain reaches out to Latinos for votes

He acknowledged that his party's image has taken a beating among Latinos as a result of the "tenor" of the illegal-immigration debate during the primaries. McCain said he couldn't gauge the political impact of Arpaio's roundups of illegal immigrants and other criminals in largely Hispanic neighborhoods. But he ultimately blamed U.S. government inaction for forcing local officials to enforce the law...McCain never fully abandoned his support for other reforms, saying that the government needs to demonstrate that it can fix the border mess before it can expect the American public to consider allowing in temporary workers and implementing other proposals that are seen as benefits for immigrants.

"I believe that the majority of Hispanics share our view that the border must be secured, and the border must be secured first," McCain said. "But they also want us to have an attitude, which I think most Americans do, that these are God's children and they must be taken care of, or the issue must be addressed, in a humane and compassionate fashion. And I will continue to carry that message with the priority that we must secure our borders first." [...]

Elias Bermudez, founder of the Phoenix-based advocacy group Immigrants Without Borders, is a McCain supporter who believes that, as president, McCain and his Democratic allies on Capitol Hill could deliver landmark immigration-reform legislation within the first 100 days of his administration.

As I've said, McCain can screw this up, and to remind people like us of his obsession with establishing a new slave class, at the expense of the Rule of Law and this nations' sovereignty, is the beginning of that screw-up.

When will McCain ever "reach across the aisle" to conservatives like me?

Posted by: John H Schneider II [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 6, 2008 02:00 PM

Just when I was beginning to think that "Big Mac" cared about Independent Conservatives like me, he gave us the "back" yet once again by dumping on President Bush and Republicans in NC. Looks like Obama is John's man and to hell with Republicans!

Now he's courting La Raza, a hate group of the most loathsome kind, the kind who hate America. McCain is either a traitor or he has a malignant brain tumor. What a selfish, self centered pompous ass!

Oh well, I can always sit around clinging to my guns, my God and my antipathy! I think I'll sit this one out like millions of other Americans who won’t compromise their values to settle for McCain. Icons have no dog in the fight this year.

As they say in the USMC brothers and sisters, pray for peace but prepare for war.

RECALL MCCAIN NOW!!!

Posted by: Hangfire [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 6, 2008 11:26 PM

John,
McCain will reach across the aisle to conservatives 10 minutes after Obama does.

Posted by: St. Thor [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 7, 2008 06:25 AM

What a pandering nincompoop. McCain's office needs to be flooded with calls and emails saying: "Don't you DARE(!) speak at La Raza."
I won't sit this one out, but unless McCain starts groveling at the feet of the true conservative base, I definitely won't cast a vote for him. I WILL vote to get the Congress back. The last Republican held Congress was pretty pathetic, but this current Dem controlled one is a disaster.

[...these are God's children and they must be taken care of]

It's a wonder McCain didn't include Jesus in his ad depicting notables with whom he has so much in common. I think he has delusions of grandeur. This is what troubles me about him. I'm greatly concerned about giving him the enormous power of the presidency. I know all politicians are egotists but I get a real foreboding sense there's something disturbingly abnormal about McCain's egotism.

I'm not so sure he's the least of the worst. I hear the alarms about what we're sure to get from Obama. Is that sufficient to justify voting for McCain? Barring a miracle, the Democrats will have a landslide victory in the Congressional races. Forget about tax cuts. Forget about conservative justices.

The Supreme Court is a big issue. Certainly whatever judicial nominees McCain could manage to get past the Democrats would be far less radical than an Obama nominee. This is the only thing McCain has going for him as far as I'm concerned. I'm weighing that against my worry that the man will go power mad.

Obama is seen by others to be a messiah. McCain sees himself as a messiah.

SLAVE CLASS? How's THAT? We'll be paying for them. More healthcare, education, welfare, etc. The leftists will be digging ever further into our pockets to provide for yet another group of percieved "underdogs" on OUR DIME.

Who do you think the REAL slaves are gonna be?!
ANSWER: US!

Posted by: girlsgotrhythm [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 7, 2008 08:06 AM

McCain: "Yeah, that's right. I'VE GOT the nomination. SCREW you conservatives. HAHAHAHAHAA!!!"

Posted by: Brooke [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 7, 2008 09:15 AM

Unless Hillary pulls something brilliant, it's going to come down to Obama and McCain.

Who to vote for? The devil we know, or a Trojan horse?

It's a crap decision to make, I know. But sitting it out isn't going to help anything, is it?

John and Barry are both hyperProgressive, far left, liberals. There are basically only 2 significant differences between them: A. the letter behind their names and B their color.

On the Amnesty issue John is far more "Progressive" or extreme left than Barry. On other Nany State issues Barry tends to be more Progressive than John. But the net difference between them is to quote a former govenor and light weight boxer ".. not worth a nickel" (spoken in '64 when you could get something for a nickel).
Given the # of times John has betrayed the GOP the last 15 years the only reason to vote for him over Barry is skin color. Which to me is a very poor reason; but 90% of black voters will vote for Bary because of his color , so it is what it is - the real world.

Oh, Rod. There *are* more differences...

Tammy, I'm imploring you (can I still use that word?) to help publicize some immigration statistics that the American public needs to know. Apparently, many folks are under the impression that we are not generous to the poor people of Mexico, when in fact we are more generous to them in our immigration policies than to countries ten times as populous. These are stats gathered from the Dept. of Homeland Security. The top ten countries from whom we accepted immigrants from 2000-2007:

Mexico - 1,352,084
India - 476,376
China - 455,405
Philippines - 434,965
Russia - 390,493
Vietnam - 231,412
El Salvador - 212,958
Dominican Republic - 210,310
Canada and Newfoundland - 191,475
Cuba - 185,574

Note the gap between Mexico and India. Note the combined totals of India, China, and the Phillippines compared to the singular total for Mexico. Let's get these figures out there. Let's circulate them often. When La Raza whines to high heaven, let's talk numbers. Let's shut off the boo-hoo spigot.
