Sorry everyone for the lack of blogging yesterday. My thanks to Maynard post posting excellent commentaries, as usual. The College Republicans at Ohio University invited me to speak and we had a great time last night. Their president, Ashley Herzog, is also a columnist for the campus newspaper. Here's her piece about my visit. I also want to thank all the members of the group and the Young America's Foundation for helping to make my appearance possible. A special tip of the hat to Bill, a Tammy Radio listener and Peep for driving for three hours from Cincinnati to see me. It was great meeting you Bill!

I now have a 1 1/2 hour drive to the airport and then will spend most of the day in the air getting back to Los Angeles. I have received a lot of emails about the California Supreme Court decision re gay marriage. While Mayard has posted on the issue and the his take on judicial overreach, I will chime in with a perspective on the issue as well as soon as I get home. And when I get a moment in a various airport or two, I'll the occasional observance on another issue or two.

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an Open Thread, and have a great Friday.

Since this is an open thread, I'm going to post some info you all need to act on immediately!

I was informed that Sen. Feinstein is attempting to attach an amnesty amendment for illegal farm workers to the Iraq Supplemental Appropriations Bill (I think it is also referred to as Emergency Agricultural Relief Act of 2008 as well). The measure could be brought to the floor as early as TODAY - so - CALL YOUR SENATORS!

You can call 202-224-3121 if you do not know who your senators are. Then, inform others of this bill - another attempt to sneak illegals in through the cloak of night.

Just wanted to thank Tammy for speaking at OHIO University last night. She (you) did a great job. As the sole faculty member in the audience I couldn't help but realize how one-sided much of higher education can be at times. There's a communication theory "Spiral of Silence" which asserts that the dominant views continue because those who try to speak against it are labeled and subsequently silenced for fear of speaking up. The strategy of name-calling (Tammy eloquently addressed last night) can be a silencer for sure, but it also highlights the hypocrisy of what we (in higher education) claim time and time again--that we are open minded, tolerant, and willing to consider diverse viewpoints. For quite a while I have felt that this tolerance comes with the exception of Christians and conservatives. Listening to Tammy provided some affirmation (from the Left) of what I had thought was going on, but that no one has really been willing to admit. Thanks again for making the trip east. Safe travels. BTW--This is my first time ever on a blog. I've been leery of them. Hope this works out.

Happy trails home Tammy , good article written by Ashley. I'd like all these whiney leftists who are imploding over President Bushes remarks in calling talking with terrorists appeasement , to take out their frustrations and rent a big Greyhound bus and get Teddy Kennedy to take them all on a lovely tour of the Cape Cod countryside. And who let Tom Daschle out from under that rock ?

Thanks Tammy! We had a great time with you too. The few liberals who attended commented to me on how eye-opening it was, and the fact that most of their side refused to attend the event only reinforced your points. Thanks again!
