DOJ Sorta Admits the Enemy May Have Traits

madviking.jpg

And it isn't the Invisible, Nondescript, Possibly a Poodle But Maybe a Sasquatch Wrapped in An Enigma that we've been on the lookout for. For seven years. Who knows, the enemy just may be, hypothetically, Muslim Arab males, between the ages of 18-25. Gee, do ya think that may make people who fit the profile get more vocal and active condemning acts of terrorism?

But here's my question: so who now will pay attention to those horrific rampaging pinkish Vikings?

AP IMPACT: Race profiling eyed for terror probes

WASHINGTON - The Justice Department is considering letting the FBI investigate Americans without any evidence of wrongdoing, relying instead on a terrorist profile that could single out Muslims, Arabs or other racial and ethnic groups...

Law enforcement officials say the proposed policy would help them do exactly what Congress demanded after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks: root out terrorists before they strike.

Although President Bush has disavowed targeting suspects based on their race or ethnicity, the new rules would allow the FBI to consider those factors among a number of traits that could trigger a national security investigation.

Currently, FBI agents need specific reasons — like evidence or allegations that a law probably has been violated — to investigate U.S. citizens and legal residents. The new policy, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press, would let agents open preliminary terrorism investigations after mining public records and intelligence to build a profile of traits that, taken together, were deemed suspicious.

Among the factors that could make someone subject of an investigation is travel to regions of the world known for terrorist activity, access to weapons or military training, along with the person's race or ethnicity.

Genius! And great timing in your effort to grow a set, Bush. It's just been almost 7 years since September 11th, and you've got less than 7 months left to surrender to tyrants around the world. Great idea to go out with talk about doing the right thing here at home. For a few months. While the borders remain wide open and the ports have no security whatsoever. And it will take longer than the time you have left to get anything of substance underway. Great job, Bushie.

Oh, while you're awake Georgie, how about trying to catch bin Laden before you drive off to the ranch? That would be nice, you know, now that the Norks have the bomb and the biggest Jew-hating terrorist sponsoring nation in the world is close to getting theirs. But then again, we could just continue with the Bush/Rice agenda of the last few years and instead of stopping bin Laden, let's just make sure he gets the bomb, too! Trifecta!

I can hear the ACLU screaming from here! And that breeze you felt ... that's their Happy Band of Lively Lawyers heading off to catch a flight to D.C. Wouldn't it be awful if one of them ended up in the "cavity search" line at the airport.

The biggest failure in the War on Terror so far has been Bush's efforts to reach out to the American left. It's also the biggest failure of his presidency. This idea will be dropped too.
