Here's a Newsflash: when a group of people make themselves heard clearly about being offended by a puppy picture yet not a sound is uttered condemning the regular murder of children by their brethren, that's called "the enemy." (HT Pat S.)

Muslims outraged at police advert featuring cute puppy sitting in policeman's hat

A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.

Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community...The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.

Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards. 'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.' [...]

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: 'Trainee police dog Rebel has proved extremely popular with children and adults since being introduced to the public, aged six weeks old, as Tayside Police's newest canine recruit.

'His incredible world-wide popularity - he has attracted record visitor numbers to our website - led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number. 'We did not seek advice from the force's diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.'

Morons, each and every one of them, on both sides.

If the world was right-side up, instead of the police apologizing for putting a puppy in an ad, the authorities would round up every "offended" individual and order them into regular psychiatric treatment. What's even worse? Supposedly normal people actually apologizing for a puppy pic. Make no mistake though--if you can get supposedly normal people to feel bad about a puppy, you're well on your way to the rest of the backward, sick perversion of Shari'a law.

OMG!! Tammy, this is sooooo scary it's not even funny. A frickin' puppy! AGGGHHHHHH!

There are others words to describe this, but I know I'm not allowed to say them here. So just know that right now I'm using every obscenity known to mankind right now to express my utter contempt and disbelief that this is what is going on in the world today.

The Tories have proposed elected sheriffs for each of the UK's territorial police areas. I think that could go a long way towards getting rid of this sort of spinelessness, maybe not everywhere but probably in most places.

Has anyone thought that maybe, just maybe, this "crazy" Muslims are actually just giving us a line of bovine feces when they complain about stuff like this, to test and see how far we will let them go?

I guess I think that because it sounds so stupid and inane that this would be a legit complaint - a picture of a frickin' dog!

It's worth noting that the Clintons' dog Buddy died under mysterious circumstances, as did his predecessor Zeke. I'm not saying the Clintons were pandering to the Islamist voting block, but I wouldn't put it past them. Other presidential dogs haven't been as hazard-prone (Millie lived to a ripe age), so the double loss is suspicious. To be generous, maybe it wasn't foul play; maybe the Clinton dogs were merely test subjects for socialized medicine.

In this culture, and I'm pretty sure in British culture dogs are not *unclean*. While all Americans do not own, or want to own dogs... lots do. They're our pets, part of our families. And if you remember the coverage after 9-11 search dogs worked under dangerous circumstances to locate survivors and remains in the rubble. There were Muslims in that twisted pile of metal and debris... am I to assume that if a search dog had discovered a Muslim survivor, they would have preferred to remain buried rather than have a dog dig them out? This is America, not Saudi Arabia. Dogs are not *unclean* here. If you live here and you do not share that view, I have a solution... when you see a dog, close your eyes!!!

Actually, I believe at some point we are due for a backlash. It is my experience that you cannot bury truth forever. You can repress it, but you cannot bury it. The truth will out! Although it is often not very pretty after being repressed. It takes too much energy to try and live a lie. This apologizing for something that is not wrong - who can go home and live with that? I can hardly wait till I read where someone says, "Look, if you don't like it - go back to where you came from!" The whole point of good psychotherapy is to be real rather than to be nice. It may take a minute to get there. But it always comes back to that.
