Big Barry is Watching!

When I first saw this mural from inside Barry’s campaign headquarters it seriously irritated me, but I wasn’t sure why; it was a visceral reaction. Well, this email from peep Tom made things clear:

Hi Tammy, look at the size of this photo on the wall at obama headquarters. Reminds me of the leader of a third world country plastered on the wall of a building.

Tom

That’s exactly it. It’s an awfully strange mural for someone who claims it was on his European Celebrity trip did he realize this election wasn’t all about him.

Maynard comments: This political cult worship is a phenomenon of the Left. Can you imagine anyone ever doing this, or creating anything like that ubiquitous “Hope” placard, with a photo of George Bush, or even for a more beloved leader like Ronald Reagan? Our minds just don’t work that way; not with regard to a fellow, fallible human. If we have that sort of reverence (and not all of us do), we’re more inclined to attach it to an ideal such as God rather than to one of our own. (I’m speaking generally of course; it’s not like “conservatives” are immune to the cult phenomenon. But when it happens, it’s less of a political “Dear Leader”-type movement.)

Hillary as Big Brother

By the way, isn’t it ironic to recall that B.O. burst onto the scene with that “Vote Different” video, portraying Hillary as Big Brother? The more things change…

NYT: One of the few times I’ll link to that PoC, only to show you how white, pasty men on both sides of the aisle are made uncomfortable with the idea of Sarah Palin. In this instance, it also shows you why David Brooks is the sort of ‘conservative’ the NY Times can love.

Houston Chronicle: Packing plant likely source of big salmonella outbreak
“Standards lax for Mexican produce heading north”
Noooo! You’re kidding?! Who knew?

Tens of thousands of people, who didn’t plan well enough even though they had a week’s warning about a hurricane, are now sitting around like infants worrying about when Big Daddy Government will give them food and a shower.

Palin bags Bigfoot. Obama gets Streisand. To clear up any confusion, these are two separate events.

Creepy and completely “Big Brother-ish”.

You don’t have something like that (especially if it’s mural size) unless you’re a malignant narcissist.

Yes, Kelly, I was going to write the same thing. It reminds me of the picture in my mind when Orwell describes the massive posters of Big Brother everywhere. Gee, I wonder what this foreshadows? As usual it’s the liberals doing the very facist activities they attribute to conservatives. J

At first glance it reminded me of the photos I have seen of Communist countries with the murals and statues of their dictators.

David Brooks is a RINO
I’m a pasty white guy from Massachusetts Tammy
and we breed RINO’s here.
I think it either has something to do with the water or the Kennedys or both

Lincoln Chafee (R-Rhode Island)is another example of RINO and is as worthless as Brooks.

RINO = Republican in name only

Well, I can certainly see why the Times is losing subscribers if they think that’s legitimate conservative thought. It’s not that questioning Palin’s qualification is wrong it’s that the base assumption that she’s not qualified because she’s from small town USA that’s the problem. Question her qualifications but don’t assume she’s not qualified.

The facts are she’s been a mayor and a governor. That’s actual on the job executive experience. She has a track record we can examine. Can the same be said of Obama? What executive experience does he have? Has he ever run anything? He doesn’t run his campaign that’s done by his campaign manager. So has he run anything? Has the buck ever stopped on Obama’s desk? It has stopped on Palin’s desk. McCain has been a military commander so the buck has stopped on his desk (from both directions). So both McCain and Palin have executive experience and track records that go with doing the job. Where’s Obama’s track record?

As you cited the bungling of the US financial system and the bailouts (Roman Candling – a parachute failing to open), I draw attention to an off-stage shadow: Sharia Financing. (Who has the cash?) And guess who the arbiters in those transsactions will be.
This has roots, by the was in the concern of Frank Gaffney’s “Divest Terror” efforts and his warning to the major banking houses.

This last weekend I posted an example (a bit lengthy) of the influence of white-collar/white-thawb crime mixed with parochial (Boston) corruption; Bank of Kuwait and the Islamic Development Bank have shown quite an influence in underwriting projects in the US. But Sharia financing laws took precedent over our own.
With Sharia Law being given it’s stand over British sovereignty, Islamic schools in the US getting taxpayers dollars, why not the banks?

That mural along with all of the other “Hope” posters of Obama around town remind me of old communist art. Creepy.

He is such a narcissist. While McCain has put Palin’s name on almost all of his campaign merchandise, Obama has left Biden’s name off quite a bit of it. When Biden’s name does show up, it’s usually in a smaller font and a color that doesn’t stand out as much.

8 HALEY September 16, 2008 at 11:50 am

That creepy mural mirrors what he wants to do with this country.

Post mortem Falacci scores. Magna Carta defaults.

10 Paul From Hamburg September 16, 2008 at 12:15 pm

Hmmm. Let’s consider the possible reasons for putting this photo in his campaign headquarters:
1. Obama campaign workers have very short attention spans and they need constant reminders of who they work for.
2. Obama campaign workers have a very poor work ethic and need to feel like they are being watched.
3. Obama wants his workers to be able to easily recognize the new $20 bills that he will issue.
4. The mural makes it easier for the workers to prostrate themselves in the correct direction.
5. Obama has a ego larger than both Clintons and all the Kennedys.

Cast your votes. Don’t vote for #5, that can’t possibly be correct; I only included it as a joke.

Re: Large picture of Obama

It worked for the Ayatollah.

And, yeah, it totally creeps me out.

I mean, it is not to say that conservatives don’t get excited about a candidate (see: Palin). But somehow, I just don’t see their campaign headquarters adorned with such a picture. Does anyone recall Reagan having such a picture?

This, coupled with Chris Matthews tingley leg and “Jesus was a community organizer” comments, really just shows how completely off the wall these people are.

Liking a candidate – sure. Admiring them – sure.

But this is just so much more than that.

Very scary. Very scary indeed.

12 Young American September 16, 2008 at 2:43 pm

I’ll bet Chris Matthews has this nice big image hanging on the
ceiling over his bed. Maybe more than his legs tingle when he gazes upon it .
I hope the teleprompter goes on the fritz during a B.Hussein
robo-speech. He’ll plead laryngitis and that will be the end of that.

13 snowcloud September 16, 2008 at 3:45 pm

That creepy picture of Obama is probably up there to replace the stain on the wall left when they took down the Che Guevara poster.

Oh, the irony.

God, help this country see the light on November 4th.

The happiest news I read all day is that Silvio Berlusconi is standing up to the spread of Islam in Italy! Thank the spirit of Oriana Fallaci who spoke in no uncertain terms of the threat we are facing!

Is it just me or do some of the poses Obama stikes look vaguely like Mussolini?

16 LongviewCyclist September 16, 2008 at 7:19 pm

That pic is creepy as hell. Definitely brings to mind Big Brother.

Boston going Sharia? It’s OK with the Boston political leadership to engage with slave states, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, in planting a mosque right in the middle of the largest black community. And it’s governed under Sharia Finance.

Maybe a flower garden with a pattern of the Confederacy’s flag named for Willilam Clarke Quantrill.
Between the incestuous corruption of Boston’s Political Caliphate and one lie after another (before the courts) this has come to pass.
Watch for precendents, one here, one thee, in varius cities could lead to a compendium for general US Islamic standards above and beyonfd the laws.

Re: Italy’s Right to Curb Islam with Mosque Law. Good for the Italians!!! Encouraging to see the descendants of the Roman Empire showing some backbone. Don’t think this would happen in the U.S. unfortunately.
