Rasmussen: Just 26% Have Confidence That Lawmakers Know What They’re Doing in Economic Crisis
An unusual VP debate — it actually matters
Sweet God No! Sarah Palin doesn’t live as a pauper on the street!
Note on this from peep Rusty:
Todd Palin’s plane is a 1958 Piper PA-18. It’s 50 years old for pi** sake.
WaPo
WikipediaYes, their house is ‘custom built’. It was designed and constructed by Todd Palin.

Everybody run!!!!! A WSJ columnist managed to put hysteria into print and thinks the best way to deal with the current economic mess is to stop spending and therefore create a depression. Here’s a newsflash for all the hysterics out there: not buying a $4 latte isn’t going to help you pay your rent. While not buying a $4 latter will in fact cause people to lose their jobs making it impossible for those people to not pay their rent. Oh, and read the comment attached to the article. At least the WSJ readers know what they’re doing.
CBS: Biden Focuses on Debate Prep, Mishears Question on Rejection of Bailout Bill Ya gotta love it–when a Republican says something the press doesn’t like it’s a “gaffe.” When a Democrat says something stupid, the press makes sure you know they “misheard.” Sheesh.

I think Palin will wipe the floor with Biden.
She’ll endear herself to America while he sticks his foot in his mouth.
I hope to God you are right, Dogoncrack!
I don’t understand why the polls are swinging heavily in Obama’s direction. He doesn’t exude confidence only a good line of BS. I pray the country will wake up and realize what a fraud he is.
Why does the MSM provoke class warfare by (gasp!) showing that Gov. Palin actually has made something of her life by having a decent house to live in? Shouldn’t they be proud instead of envious? Doesn’t the MSM realize that middle class Americans average home value is in the hundred thousands, not the hundreds? Everyone is not poor and everyone shouldn’t have to be poor in order to run for vice president. Where were they when Kerry was running? He was far from poor. But since that’s all they can pick on, that is what they will do.
The anti McCain/Palin Media Push has started and
it probably has some bearing on the poll numbers.
It’s time for Sarah to put the hammer down.
Get tough, fair but Firm
lead and not led – take no prisoners
The same for McCain.
The economy stupid.
Bill Clinton is a jerk, but, he was right on that
one. As Pelosi knows all too well, drag this out, and blame it on Bush, and McCain, and the media will tow the line for her party. Working for them very well right now.
Palin has stumbled. Sorry, I know the media is
out to get her, and parsing her every breath and
word. Unfairly, yes. Obama says 57 states, no bother. Biden, FDR prez in 1929, no big deal.
Palin can’t discuss the Supreme Court like Scalia, she’s a dope.
But, she has to do better in 30 days than she
has so far. One great night, and 3 weeks of McCain
over management. Why not be on Rush, Laura, Sean, Tammy, to get some tough questions, and be
set at ease w/your own voice and stands.
McCain has run a bad campaign for 3 weeks. He
did ok in the debate. He didn’t knock Obama down, and he had chances to do it.
Right now, sadly, I can’t help but see a runaway
win for Obama, based on what McCain and Palin are
doing, and not doing. It ain’t all the liberal
media doing this, the GOP and McCain have to take
some blame for missing the boat, and those easy,
easy targets.
Palin, do us proud! Please! Pretty please!
Practice the name of the Georgian president too.
You know Gwen is going to ask some obscure questions. So, Sarah (like Couric, why say Governor), how do you feel about the price of wheat in Uruguay, and the role of the Treasury in Somalia?
She could ask, how about that massacre in Tijuana this week….nah…..
Oddly enough, we may elect a President with more ties to the financial crisis, than Bush had to
Enron, and we’ll be cheered for doing it! I love
how Europe says, see they’ve progressed. When was
the last time France or Germany or England elected
a person of color for any top spot? Never…….
I agree – the media has been absolutely horrible to McCain and Palin (especially Palin). Obama is their god. It’s unfortunate. We can only hope that America will see through their deceitful nature.
Regarding the VP debate – I think that the Republicans know exactly how to play Palin. I think they’ve been keeping her from the media on purpose, driving them nuts, confusing them on what Palin knows and what she supposedly doesn’t know. I think she’s been instructed not to answer certain questions in the few interviews she has had…all in the name of turning her loose in the debate. When they turn her loose, they want her to hit Biden like a truck.
Here’s to Palin on Thursday night!
I hope they allow her to be herself. I’d rather she make a few blunders while being personable, rather than give canned responses.
Did you know that the Huffington Post is debating whether or not her lip liner is tattoo?

I have heard rumblings about this earlier. Please why can’t people see this man for who and what he really is???
Perhaps I missed it in that article about the Palin’s wealth…did they say how much the Palins give to charity? Without knowing, I would guess it’s a solid 10%, but I sure would like to see some reference to it. But of course, that might make Biden look cheap by comparison.
I agree, Judy – I don’t get why people can’t see Obama for what he really is either. Even in the debate last Friday, his true colors showed SO well in each and every way. And some people still do not see it. They’re blind to his corruption and lies. I guess that’s why we call them Obamatrons…that’s exactly what they are. Programmed robots who will never see the truth.
I’m about to check out your link now…
Palin makes you feel like she could be your neighbor.
That’s why she’ll win this election for the Republicans.
I do hope, as Haley pointed out, that the plan has been to keep Palin at bay until the debate. I truly hope this is an October surprise. I want Palin to take that size 6 pump and kick Biden’s smug a** once and for all. Then, onward to November to send Adolf Obama right back to the comfort of the Chicago socialists. They voted him into the senate – they can effing have him!
I love Chicago and miss living there, but since becoming a city under one-party control (and pretty much the state of Illinois for that matter), one only has to look at the west & southside of Chi-town to see what will become of America if this twit gets in.

OOPS, my level of patience is showing…sorry all
Artgal, “Adolf Obama” – ha! Funny! Good one.
Right on, Tammy, with the post about Republicans “gaffe” and Democrats “misheard” – very true. Again, I smell corruption with the Democrats. They’re probably paying the media.
It would be nice to think that they are just reigning in Palin before the “big night”. But I have a sinking feeling that is not the case. Nothing against Palin, BTW. I still like her very much, and I think she’s smart, etc. But I don’t know if she’s really prepared. On domestic issues, yes. On foreign policy, not so much, even if she shares my general world view on how to handle things. It’s not really me she has to convince – it’s the undecided independents.
I need to hear more than a repeat of her Convention speech when she’s on the stump. I need her to be prepared for the curve balls that the liberal media throw at her. I don’t know who’s educating her in the McCain camp, but they aren’t doing that great of a job. She needs more specifics on her experience for one thing.
As a moderate, I don’t necessarily mind “bipartisanship” when it’s called for. But McCain needs to take the gloves off. Not be nasty or anything, but be more firm, be more willing to knock Obama down like he didn’t do during the debate. I want to be able to say “Sucking chest wound!” and I’m not seeing it.
Between Obama’s empty suit and Biden’s gaffe’s and despite the media practically groveling at their feet, McCain/Palin should be able to make mince meat out of them. What is going on?
Although I’m unsure of what’s going to happen with the economy right now, and even though McCain is for the Bailout, I still have more confidence in him in general than I do Obama and we need more Americans to think that way, as well.
McCain/Palin needs to get on the ball already! Almost a month to go! I absolutely dread the thought of this bailout getting passed (especially with more liberal stuff put into it) and then having Obama win in November. I just see a long road of nothing but socialism after that, because no matter what Republican may get in after Obama, it’s hard to get rid of big gov’t and we’ll be stuck with it and I won’t recognize this country anymore.
La la la la la, we can’t hear you! House limits constituent e-mails to prevent crash .
This was brilliant:

Palin has so much potential, but she shouldn’t be hiding. She needs to take what she told Hugh, and take to the streets and go door-to-door with that. Both McCain and Palin need to go back to grass-roots, and take that message above directly to the people….on a daily basis….even Sundays ! If they pound the pavement…each and every day, and let the public debate with them, and with a video camera, and then upload the results each day…. there could be a chance.
There needs to be a consistent daily contact and debate directly with the public. The problem is it hasn’t been consistend. Palin’s appearances have been piecemeal and filtered. If she takes the same things that she said on Hugh’s radio show, and takes that directly to the public, on a much more frequent basis, daily……then for the media to attack.
Palin also needs to head to Saturday Night Live and go head-to-head with Tina Fey. And if SNL won’t have her, then Palin can do her own commentary on their weekly sketches. Palin says she is willing to walk through the fire and take the shots….but how about shooting back with some shots of her own, each and every time the attacks come up, and on a daily basis.
They both need to fire back, and way more frequently !
uh oh – the hit is in… as if we didn’t already know that.
