Nope, apparently his supporters insist on a Super Special holiday all his own. Newsflash for Obama Zombies: this nation is not going to be turned into a cult on our watch.

I still can’t watch the news. I tried, but every time his name was mentioned I had to turn it immediately. That’s the extent of my Obama Derangement Syndrome.
I haven’t turned on the tv news since the election, even Fox News. I already know what they’re going to say and I don’t need to hear again how I should bow before The One.
How gracious of our new “ruler†to acknowledge that Bush is still the president until January 20.
I haven’t watched any coverage on TV but whats Fox News Channel for a couple of months now. But I had to turn it off the other night, and left it off. What I saw was sickening.
Obama Cake on Inauguration Day? What happened to Pie?????
I can’t watch Fox News for no more than a second. I’m depending on the conservative talk shows for my news now. That said, Sarah Palin will be on Greta tonight.
You know, we need an organized movement if we are going to put Palin into the presidency 2012. Tammy, you and Dennis Miller should think about starting up a new website called “MillerMedia” as a sort of Republican counterpoint to HuffingtonPost.
Arianna started HuffingtonPost in May of 2005, with her one goal of putting Obama into office. Huffingtonpost has a lot of vile things, and humor, and I hate to say it, but it worked. I’d like to see a similar effort and Dennis Miller is a great guy in terms of providing humor…… and sometimes you have to roll around in the mud, if you’re gonna match wits. Arianna’s recruited a lot of people to write for that site. But there’s really nothing like a HuffingtonPost on the Republican side. Drudge is good, but not exactly the same thing.
I really think this is were we start. Our own sort of HuffingtonPost.
Hey Tammy,
I know how much you were a fan of Megan, and Cindy; but can you imagine what a job that McCain must be that he continues to allow the stories about Sarah Palin to come out in the MSM? He’s been called Yosemite Sam, and he pretty much reminds me of that character, running from one place to another in the last part of the this campaign; just allows her to take the blows on her chin, when it was really Sarah Palin that gave her a better showing than McCain, alone.

Just great. Now the Obamabots need their Obama cake to go along with the Kool-Aid, and a day to bow to their fuhrer. Absolutely sickening.
Apparently, Obama is going to begin his ‘rule’ from day 1 according to his spokeshole (http://media.newsbusters.org/stories/obama-spokesman-says-obama-ready-rule-day-1.html?q=blogs/warner-todd-huston/2008/11/10/obama-spokesman-says-obama-ready-rule-day-1)
You said it, Tammy, & I agree wholeheartedly: “This nation is not going to be turned into a cult on our watch.”
No way in hell will we sit quietly and let this happen.
NO, WE WON’T!
I had a psychic moment about a month before the election, and I called up Time Warner Cable and asked them to suspend my television service. I can get almost everything I really need on the net, and look what I miss: all of the BO endless love-ins! Call me petty, but his face, his name, the bizarre adulation – all make me sick, thus newspaper headlines are still a challenge. However, turning them into cat/dog litter has been somewhat of an antidote. And, one bit of news that surfaced on the net today made me laugh – BO is hiring all Clinton people. Frustrating, but no one believed me when I said BO profiled as a pathological liar!
WTF!? You know, I ran into a few people over the weekend that I know (or now know) are “liberals”. However, it seemed apparent that they were “centrists” really, just leaning to the left a bit. They did not appear to be Obamabots; they did not appear to have drunk from the Kool-Aid. They were not Bush haters. They made no derogatory comments about my husband being Iraq, but only wished him well and a safe return and included a “thanks” for his service. That really warmed my heart.
And I was relieved to see that I wasn’t running into those kinds of zombies. In fact, I expected to walk around town and see people smiling that daft smile of the indoctrinated; I expected to hear something akin to a zombie mantra, like “bless you, comrade” or something.
But I didn’t. I think it’s because of where I live, way north of L.A. in a place where my kids learned to read by reading the “Yes on 8″ signs! (No, I’m not kidding; they repeated it everytime they saw it and then wanted to know what it meant. I declined to respond; they are 4 1/2 and 6).
And I’m still not as worried or angry as some I see post here (that Schneider/Bruce exchange was pretty brutal; the most brutal I have seen since I’ve been coming on here).
But then I see this – an Obama Holiday! – and I just shake my head and then my worry-lines start coming back.
“Office of the President-Elect” – I saw that over the weekend. WTF is that!? I’ve never seen that before. Now this!
I did start to feel some sympathy for him. Now don’t get mad at me for that. It was the thought of having the weight of the world on one’s shoulders, regardless of political affiliation. I was reminded of what my husband, an officer in the U.S. Army, always says: it’s easy to Monday-morning quarterback; it’s easy to judge when your butt is not on the line. But your perspective changes real fast when you are in the hot seat. Difficult decisions have to be made and sometimes you are the only one with all the facts; but the troops have to obey your lawful orders.
I thought about that after learning he had his National Security briefing. I think of that now as he meets face to face with President Bush.
Things during his Presidency can go 1 of 2 ways:
He will learn that information that President Bush had to harbor these 8 years, the information that made him have to do the things he did in order to protect us and he will be humbled by it and move to the center and realize that our American butts are on the line, both security-wise and economically.
Or, he will disregard it and act like we all believed he would act – as The Messiah, The One that could try the same failed things, but somehow be successful. Turn water into wine; feed millions with a few loaves and some fish.
Those are really the only 2 ways I see ahead of us. Will he choose the Golden Path? (see Dune books for reference). Or will he lead us into abject horror and terror?
He has not yet taken office, but we shall see. We shall see.
Cheers.
The guy hasn’t done a thing yet. Getting elected by a small majority of mindless idiots is not good cause for a new Holiday. What are we gonna give him if he shows up for work on time? A Nobel Prize?
Well, ONESHOTWATAW, they gave one to Arafat and to Gore, so anything is possible!
“Will he choose the Golden Path? (see Dune books for reference). Or will he lead us into abject horror and terror?”
Uh, Dune geekery here, but the Golden Path INVOLVED abject horror and terror, and civilization-wide destruction on an incalculably enormous scale. It was the essence of “destroying the village in order to save it.”
Leto made himself humanity’s last and greatest tyrant so that he would first be loved and worshipped, then eventually (after 4000 years) hated and overthrown in a way that would ensure the survival of the species by its dispersion and its final rejection of any unitary authority (the Scattering). God help us all if Obama does anything like that.
On second thought, maybe we should reserve April 15 as Obama Day. I haven’t listened to all of yesterday’s show yet, so perhaps it’s already been suggested.
