Wait while I shake off the shock.
Palin to be No Show at Obama’s Dinner for McCain
On the night before Barack Obama is sworn in as the nation’s 44th President, his inaugural committee will host a series of dinners honoring public servants it deems champions of bipartisanship. To be feted are Vice President-elect Joe Biden, Colin Powell, and John McCain, whom Obama vanquished last November. At the McCain dinner, the GOP senator, who managed to suppress his bipartisan tendencies during the hard-fought 2008 campaign, will be introduced by one of his closest Senate confidants: Senator Lindsey Graham. But McCain’s No. 1 booster during the last year will not be among those hailing McCain. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, his controversial running-mate, will not attend the dinner, Bill McAllister, a Palin spokesman tells Mother Jones…
Like I said, Liberals. Heck, the only person missing from Obama’s Official Liberal Support Team is President Bush.
Was she even invited? “I don’t know if she was invited,” McCallister says. Don’t know? How could that be? It’s hard to miss an invitation from a presidential inauguration committee. For its part, Obama’s inaugural committee has declined to say whether an invitation was sent to Palin. Repeated phone calls to its press office produced no answer to this simple question.
It’s a very good sign she wasn’t invited, and she should be proud to not be in that room.
I am thrilled our Sarah was not there. I don’t think she would want to be seen with such yellow-bellies anyhow.
Hmmm let’s see. You have Juan McAmnesty, Miss Lindsey Graham (aka Grahamnesty), and Colin Powell – not a single conservative there. What’s a matter, Kathleen Parker was not available?
Why McAmnesty would want to even be in the same room as Colin Powell is beyond me?
Sarah Palin is a shining beacon of freedom in the dark night of socialism that is engulfing our country.
I don’t go to my state communist party dinners, nor do I go to the socialist dinners. Why should we expect Gov. Palin to rub elbows with these socialist then? That makes about as much since as going on oprah winfrey. The only way to get rid of these spineless campswapping R’s is to be vigilant in educating passive conservative R’s and D’s to not vote for these losers next time around and the next time around.
I would think it is a compliment not to be invited to an Obama celebration dinner.
Wow! Putting American hero Senator McCain in the same category as a washed out retired black american soldier and obama’s fabrication-a-minute chiapet Biden is sure a put down for Senator McCain. He should be a no show to give a graphic example of how to suitably respond to an insult.
I actually wrote Governor Palin an e-mail a few weeks ago URGING her to not go on the Oprah Winfrey show, so if she was invited to this thing and decided not to attend, I will tell you why. When you run on a campaign message, you should stick by the campaign message, even after the election is over. If you don’t, then you didn’t mean anything you said during the campaign anyway. That is why I have a very hard time with Hillary Clinton. She abandoned her stand against Barky when she accepted any offer from him. Palin can now be SERIOUSLY viewed as the next Ronald Reagan. I personally think she is even better than Reagan & more on the lines of Teddy Roosevelt the Rough Rider. By Palin not appearing on Oprah speaks volumes to Conservatives! Palin stands by her message of calling Socialism for what it is and isn’t backing down. That deserves a hell of alot of respect and gets my vote next election. By the way Sarah, stay off of SNL next campaign. They are a joke (no pun intended).
Gov. Palin has far more class and integrity than any of those swine scrambling for Obama’s blessings & a chance to eat from the same trough with him. Palin is tough, direct, decent and not in the habit of rubbing noses with the corrupt or those who were responsible for treating her & her family horribly during the campaign. It is indeed a good sign she was not invited.
McCain is doing exactly what we expected: being predictable. Powell is a self-serving half-wit and Lindsey Graham is the personification of flatulence. We shouldn’t be surprised they would salivate at the chance to engage in a cluster-f(rea)k with Barky.
We are going to face some serious tests in the coming days, weeks, months and years. Whenever I see video of Palin, I see a calmness, determination and strength that is completely absent in the high & mighty of DC. She’s definitely a welcome presence in these very uncertain times.
If we want her to stay on the national scene, we’d better be tough and fight for her, too!
Barky wants to bring the repulican left, just a little more left. So he will court the repulican left with an event like this, under the banner of bipartisanship. It’s really a statement of liberal unification. Sarah Palin does not belong in this group at all. The media will continue to “Dan Quale” her. (Liberal version of swift boating.) They’ll drive her out of the circle, and into obscurity, just like they tried to keep Reagan out of the running, because they thought he was too conservative. The republicans are moving back to the comfort of the “country-club” republican era of Nixon, Bush I, Ford, and the like. They were all soft socialists like McCain and Graham.
As the Rebublican party continues to be drawn to the left, the Democrats will make short work of them. A liberal can always out lib a wishy-washy republican.
