Mutt McCain and Jeff Graham issue a joint statement supporting Hopey McChange closing Gitmo. What, did they visit Massachusetts or something and now need to issue joint statements? Cozy.
“We support President Obama’s decision to close the prison at Guantanamo, reaffirm America’s adherence to the Geneva Conventions, and begin a process that will, we hope, lead to the resolution of all cases of Guantanamo detainees,†McCain and Graham said in a statement.
An important observation has been made by Moira Bagley of the NewMajority.com about Barack Obama’s Chicago-style political moxy. Obama resigned his senate seat an unprecedented 66 days before his inauguration. Why?? To stop the senate ethics investigation into his house purchase via Tony Rezko. When Barky ceased being a senator the senate ethics committee no longer had jurisdiction and the investigation stopped. The corrupt Chicago political style has invaded the White House. This is just a prelude.
Biden resigned his seat 5 days before, Gore 18 days, Quayle 17 days, . . . .

I am also disappointed that Caroline Kennedy has withdrawn from consideration for Hillary’s senate seat. I hope both the left and the right are happy now. She was getting it from both sides – they beat her down about everything. The way she talked, dressed, walked – the dynasty factor. One article implied she resigned because of financial disclosure requirements – that is truly a joke considering the corruption throughout Washington. Once again the elite pundits win and who will we get now—- Cuomo.
Another sad day – when will it end.
“Yes, but did she arrive via cork-screw landing while being shot at??” – Good one, Tammy!
Tammy, I’ve been aware of your support for Caroline Kennedy as a possible replacement for Hillary Clinton’s vacated senate seat. As a lifelong resident of New York State, I can tell you why I was opposed to it.
A few weeks ago, Caroline Kennedy left her exclusive Manhattan high rise to venture into the Northern and Western regions of our state, for (as she publicly stated) the first time in her life. We in upstate NY are not happy with our
representatives, because we ALWAYS take a back seat to New York City commie-lib interests. I think that a person seeking to represent us as a state, visiting us in upstate NY for the very first time in her life, has absolutely no clue
who we are or what our interests are, and as such is absolutely not qualified to represent us. I didn’t even know she lived in our state until she asked to become our representative. She is an unknown (other than her name) in most of our state. She is so undistinguished as a public figure, I was surprised to learn she lives in this state! And with each new public appearance, support for her among the citizens of our state has eroded. She hasn’t made a good impression.
At least, as a duly elected New York State Attorney General, the also very liberal Andrew Cuomo has spent time in our cities and is familiar with what goes on here. He has faced the citizens of our state and asked for their votes and received them. The citizens of our state have shown their approval of him with their votes.
He has worked for us and he understands us. No liberal is good, but after proving himself as an effective AG, he’d be a more logical choice.
Kennedy, on what seems little more than a whim, asked for the appointment simply because she could, based on her family heritage. And that’s almost exactly the reason she gave for wanting to run. Her withdrawal from consideration is further evidence of this flight of fancy on her part. She wasn’t commited to us. She simply wanted it handed to her as everything else in life has been. The last thing we need is more entitlement oriented flakey “leaders”.
Thank you very much for your extremely interesting radio program, which I enjoy listening too almost daily. And for your incredibly insightful books, all of which I own and have read.
I just got a lovely new shirt in the mail.

BO gets sworn in a second time just to be sure there’s no controversy over the flubbed first swearing in but there were no cameras and therefore no video record to confirm the second swearing in so it….oh hell, never mind. The weirdness factor of this guy!
Now BO becomes the first president in 56 years to snub the American Legions “Salute to Heroes”, started in 1953 and attended by Ike on his first inauguration. Yep. Change is coming.
I still say if you want to make some easy money, bet the farm on “Milk” to win best picture. Since the passage of Prop 8, Liberal Hollywood is in a mood to ram as much gayness down the people’s throats as possible. Expect loooooong tiresome speeches from Sean Penn and the filmmakers.
I agree Camperdude. I haven’t even seen this movie. I’ll wait for it on DVD. Sometimes those who claim to be the anointed spokesperson for the gay community end up being a serious hinderance. Hence why that Prop 8 passed.
As far as Caroline Kennedy is concerned, I have been a staunch opponent of hers from the get go. The absurdity of her thinking that because she is a Kennedy that means she can automatically be selected as a senator. I do not believe governors should be appointed open senate seats. I’m in Illinois and crap that’s going on in our state, Abe Lincoln is probably turning in his grave.
In any event gubernatorial appointments will not change anytime soon. There has to be an amendment of some sort. I won’t hold my breath. I don’t believe at all that Kennedy was treated badly by the press. Considering the cruelty in which Sarah Palin faced from everywhere, as if she was some illiterate hick. Let Mrs. Kennedy return to her island of Manhattan. By the way, if it was a contest between Palin and Kennedy, Palin has my vote hands down. At least she earned her own way.
Mrs. Kennedy’s lack of preparation showed to me she had no clue why she wanted seat. Considering the way she abruptly removed herself from the selection process, I have a feeling there’s more to this. Typical Kennedy!!
As a New Yorker I am overjoyed that Society Caroline will not be my Senator. Her candidacy was a joke sort of a trust fund candidacy. AS for people “ganging up on her” – cry me a river. Go ask Sarah Palin what it is like.
I like the new era of modern politics where lineage and a last name are considered enough qualifications to occupy public office. However, speaking as a former New Yorker, I’d rather they give the senate seat to EDGAR Kennedy.
(Little Rascals and Laurel and Hardy fans are chuckling right now.)
