A truly pleasant surprise with the choice of Kirsten Gillibrand to fill Hillary’s senate seat. She is a strong supporter of the second amendment and very strong on securing our borders.
From her official website: Our immigration system is broken and hard-working Americans often bear the brunt of the federal government’s failure to secure our borders and provide adequate protections for the American worker and the shrinking American Middle Class. I believe the first step to fixing our immigration system is to stop the flow of illegal immigration. This can be accomplished by securing the Southern border, enforcing the employment laws on the books and ensuring that our farmers and businesses have the adequate number of legal workers after they have exhausted their search for American workers. I am firmly against providing amnesty to illegal immigrants.
She also voted against the bailout – she seems to be a good choice.
That Guantanamo alumnus even went to the Saudi rehab. Do rehabs work? Ask this guy, Britney, and any number of other celebrities.
Peeps – don’t forget to vote for Tammy at http://www.newstalk1160.com/. Her percentage has dropped from 53% to 47%. She is still in the lead (Crowley 24%, Dobbs 23%).
I’m now convinced that Juan never intended to win in the first place.
I guess it’s too bad for him that Chris Matthews beat him to the punch on being Barkey’s Monica.
McCain back to his “Maverick” ways, this explains the dual waves of revulsion and relief that I felt all day long November 5th.
yes, it’s going to be rough going. but at least I won’t have to tie myself into mental knots defending that treacherous, old fart, asshole McCain for four years.

To paraphrase Henry Kissinger, it’s a shame they (Obama and McCain) both couldn’t lose.
What a disaster McCain and his entire RINO wing of the party has turned out to be. I forget who pointed out that good men are capable of doing just as much damage as evil men if the are misguided enough, but in this case, as far as the Republican party goes, he was right. I wish that man was never nominated.
PALIN2012
Anyone was better then Sweet Caroline.
Ripper : This is why I originally supported Rudy.
His 12 commitments laid out a solid case and agenda for the future of America.
Either he or Romney would’ve easily defeated Barkey.
I’m so glad it’s not a Kennedy or a Cuomo. This event teaches us that we shouldn’t go around with our expectations and standards so low. So much for it being an inevitable leftist, this Gillibrand woman seems pretty cool. Maybe Patterson is smarter than we thought.
Wow! What a big surprise. A released enemy combatant terorist who wants to kill all of us is back to the front lines. Is PBO proud of his executive order now, or is cool hand bari simply clueless and merely doing the bidding of his string pullers? Bet the enemy will like us a lot less than before the PBO XORD – starting when they realize that they will more likely get made into good terrorists meeting with Allah than get captured for a holiday at club gitmo. Ideology vs. reasoned action? Hmmm? Ignorant can be cured; stupid is forever – which way will it break? Let’s pray that we have time to figure it out.
So Mac is back. Oh joy.
I’m impressed with Gov. Patterson’s choice not to choose a Kennedy with no tangible experience for the Senate seat. It must be a big blow to the Royal Kennedy’s inflated sense of entitlement to have the red carpet pulled out from under them.
One of the things I learned during terrorism training when I was in the military was that it is pointless to argue ideology with terrorists. By the time they reach terrorist status their ideologies are permanently set. Their minds are irreversibly unyielding. Brainwashed or not, nothing, not even the incontrovertible truth, will convince them otherwise.
Another interesting thing I learned is that female terrorists are the most dangerous. They will kill without hesitation. Some male terrorists have been moved to let hostages live after hostages have told them some tragic story about their lives. For women terrorists, it won’t work. No one knows why.
Common soldiers can be rehabilitated, terrorists can not.
The left is dangerously ignorant. Islamic extremists hate us unconditionally. The only way to make them safe is to imprison them for life or kill them.
Lamplighter, we can expand your point, “Common soldiers can be rehabilitated, terrorists can not.” Soldiers are trained and well adjusted to society. These people are not. “Crayons not Bombs” doesn’t cut it as these creeps show us.
Since the 60′s ‘Americana’ has been seeking solutions in “Psychology Today”. Writers who canonize the obvious as ‘Revelation’ don’t and won’t get it. They are constitutionally incapable of grasping reality. Good point.
I’m still torn at what is a bigger threat in this country. The towel headed jihadist across the big pond or the brain dead acedemics from anyone of a number of “think” tanks. Today on Fox, Chris Wallace had on a Brian somebody from the Rand corporation making a case for freeing some of the Gitmo detainees. In response to a question Chris posed about the terrorist showing up on the Internet after their “retraining” this dolt comparied it to any commom criminals rate of recidivism. He also spoke of our duty to be on the moral high ground when we battle the terrorist. I was screaming at the set. Only a Lib could equate an armed robber with the mass murder
of thousands by jet aircraft. No problem killing the unborn but waterborading makes us evil. WTF!!
Beam me up Scotty.

I too supported Rudy then Romney. Rudy was my mayor and he did a great job overall. Not sure they would have beaten The One but they would’ve given him a much more difficult race. Too many McCain voters such as myself had to hold our noses when vorting for him.
