Janet Napolitano always did have her priorities straight…
I think Obama was correct in selecting Napolitano as the Homeland Security Chief. The best way to scare off any illegals entering the country is to have Napolitano as a scarecrow at the border – having her right there would scare the living daylights out of anybody trying to enter. And secondly, having her out as Arizona’s governor has given us Jan Brewer – and that’s a good thing.
Well, now that we know Jan The Man is protecting our border to the south by her presence alone, we can now focus on the numerous threats from Canada. That must have been why the border priorities have shifted, eh?
Artgal……SPOT ON!
Napolitano as a scarecrow….I hadn’t thought of that. Jan rocks! 1st day on the job….How to cut something like 600m from the budget!
The article points out Citi is buying one $50 million dollar jet. But, they are selling two older planes at a listing price of $27 million each. If they get listing price, they will end up with a profit of $4 million plus less fuel, crew and maintenance needed on 1 new jet as compared to two old jets. How is this using the bailout money?? Sounds like they are trying to reduce costs.
I run a girl’s AAU basketball program, 11U to 17U. There can be no excuse for that at all. I have seen coaches run the score up many times, and it is always reprehensible. If a team is up by 20 points at any time in the game, all pressing should stop, all transition should stop, a half-court offense should be implemented, and only bench players should play. It is inconceivable that they were not playing starters and not pressing if they won 100 to 0.
It is a great opportunity to improve your weaker players to do this, but it is also terrible for any program to have other people think of you this way. Not a very good thing to teach your players either.
Guy should have been fired. Just because they were winless themselves for so many year, he should have known better than anyone.
It’s a sign of the times. CitiBank gets a new jet. Janet wants to guard our northern boarders when her own back yard is swamped from our neighboring thugarama, Mexico. ACCORN get’s a boost. Congressman Barney shills for a friendly minority(?) bank.
And just as we’re learning that the ‘Betty Ford Jihadists’ have given up the ‘Crayons for Bombs’ program, and they show up as AlQaeda Brass, GITMO is ordered to phased down.
Snakes on a Plane: I could not care less what stupid things the corporations are doing with the TARP money. It’s no different from the stupid things they did with their own money.
Last I checked the world only made another revolution around the sun; not the other way around. This changes nothing. All this does is detract from the source problem of Government giving them money in the first place.

Girl’s basketball: This is good news? You can blame the coach all you want, but. Unless he was throwing those three-pointers while simultainiously cheering from the stands then he wasn’t the only bad example.
I bet the girls felt horrible for making all those points. They must have been crying and sulking after winning so badly…Or…

Can I ask a serious question? When did I take the Blue Pill?
I now know exactley why Democrats are now leading the country. At some point in the last few days “conservatives” (a.k.a. republicans) have finally cornered the market in the whining trade.
Tammy, how have any of the posts after the election been helpful? What exactly do you want to do?
I understand that you make a living off of talking about what the government should be doing. You make it a point to illuminate and complain about what the opposition is doing to undermine us. Yet, you fall short of making any physical effort to fix this…
How, exactley, are you not a Republican?

-If any of the above seems cranky and rude it probably is. I apologize for that. But, lately I’ve been having a hard time telling which side of the fence we’re on.
Tammy, I make a special apology to you for the last comment. But I think enough Conservatives have talked about doing the right thing.
The whole idealology of the Right has suddenly went into by-stander mode. We’re all waiting for someone to do something. We all think there’s someone better for the job and that they’ll stand up in the next few seconds. But it’s not going to happen…
You have the ability to lead, Tammy. You may not be the best person for the job but you don’t need to be, either.
Then again… maybe someone will do something… any second now…
Cinderellaman, I disagree with you. My understanding is that the coach tried everything to hold his team back. The girls on the other team had “learning disabilities”. If so, then why were they playing against a team that didn’t? Do we let the Special Olympic kids play against regular kids? Why not?
They lost. They need to learn disappointment and improve their game. Instead, we get the Handicapper General that Maynard has pointed out in his post. We punish success and reward incompetence and then we wonder why the world is the way it is. Why parents are calling up their children’s employers (adult children by the way; out of college) regarding poor performance reviews. Why parents call the universities to help their children with admin problems.
This is ridiculous. I don’t mind blow-out rules, I guess, but it sounds like the coach did everything he could to keep the score down. I guess his team is just too good no matter what.
What is so dang wrong with that? When are our children going to learn about losing and disappointment?
Are we going to live in that Kurt Vonnegut world? Is that what we really want?
I don’t think so.
This is shameful. Very shameful.
