James Madison warned us early. Reagan warned us recently. Time is running out.
Madison 18th century:
Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation.
Reagan 20th century:
History will record with the greatest astonishment those who have the most to lose did the least to prevent it’s happening.
Obama 21st century:
We are going to remake this country block by block, neighborhood by neighborhood, county by county, state by state.
(H/T Texas Rainmaker.)
Of course he ( Obama ) is ignoring the fact that he did not win a landslide. He’s so caught up in his obviously pre-determined agenda and newfound authority that he’s forgotten that We The People will only stand for so much of this BS.
DeMint had a great but easily missed comment the other day on why Obama was so surprised that he didn’t get bipartisan support for the bill… because he simply had spent the majority of his time in the Senate running for the White House.
Reminds me of George Pataki’s first year in office as Governor of New York. As a state worker, I quickly became aware of the fact that we were a ship without a rudder. He didn’t have a clue how to run a large government. Just looking back at how Pelosi and Reid wrenched this thing away from him, and then from each other, makes me feel a little better.
2010 is not too far away, but far enough to remind people that too much government is not the change they really wanted.
It’s such a pity that the cost of ammunition is rising when the economy is hurting… must. stockpile. more.
Fox……one word: RELOAD
I saw a rediculous piece on AOL about the best ten and worst ten presidents. It was really a laugh. With a few notable exceptions they obviously ranked them in order of how much they pulled the country toward socialism. Wilson and FDR were highly ranked, and oddly enough both men were in love with Benito Mussolinni, and felt that progressivism (as is now more known as liberalism)was where the world should be headed. Obama has answered any doubters as to how he will govern. He will do whatever he thinks necessary push the country toward his view of utopian socialism. All utopian socialist movements have ended up killing a lot of folks that refuse to drink the Koolade.
