Cuomo appeared on CNN this morning to discuss the comparison of Obama to Lincoln. Cuomo matter-of-factly listed their similarities: incredible intelligence, gifted eloquence, common sense and pragmatism. Where the two differ is that Obama faces a far more difficult task than Lincoln. Lincoln’s task was simply to hold the country together whereas the entire world depends on Obama.

If Lincoln made a mistake then the Union might have fractured. If Obama makes a mistake on the economy, the whole world will suffer.

The suffering of one particular country is of great concern to Mario—China. And for good reason.

China will suffer. When they suffer they stop giving us money.

Lincoln, says Cuomo, would be in favor of big government given today’s problems and totally at odds with today’s Republicans.

Coming on Lincoln’s birthday, the whole stunning interview amounts to blasphemy.

Cuomo has it upside down and backwards. The world will suffer if Obama succeeds in destroying America.

Every day, lately, I am finding the world gone nuts. From local stuff to international, the lack of logic is beginning to make me wonder if there is a hidden virus affecting all of mankind’s process of thinking…or lack of thereof….

But being bombarded with media, in this modern world, escape from the madness seems harder to do.

The Obama/Lincoln connection is just another form of brainwash…Have a good day Tammy and staff, and carry on.

Grandiose=Obama. It is sacrilege this ongoing demonstration by Obama to link himself to Lincoln. This Emperor’s New Clothes fable continues to unfold in real time before us! Obama’s intelligence is that of a con man, who knows how to size up a mark and run a game; this “gifted eloquence” — someone should make these true believers sit and listen to Winston Churchill speeches day and night to get a better idea of the words “gifted” and “eloquence.” Pragmatism. Huh? Another kool idea victim!

Leave it to the democrats to accept a subservient role to China. They wont be satisfied until we are a third world country.

The way things are going, it may not take them 4 years to get us there.

Did he actually say this with a STRAIGHT FACE?!?!?!

I posted something akin to the following on townhall –

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT ALL OF THIS?

It’s nice to chat and rant and call our reps, but they are still going ahead with it. In California, we are totally going BOHICA – doubled car tax, 2% SURCHARGE on income tax, sales tax going up, gas tax going up 12 cents.

Whether it be within a State or just in reference to the Federal gov’t, our Executive, Legislature and Judiciary have turned against us. Yes, yes, we as a collective (or more pointedly, those that voted these idiots in) are to blame for voting this idiots in and not getting rid of them.

But what do we do now – enjoy the burning and offer to hold the fiddle while they take another drink of wine?

I quoted the Declaration of Independence in that post on townhall – it is our right to throw off this tyranny. And I’m not even advocating violence. Simple civil disobedience ought to do it if enough of us join in, including telling the State of CA (who has started sending out IOUs instead of disability checks) to stick it as far as the taxes go. Demonstrations like we used to have during the 60s. Sit-ins, whatever. If the hippies could do it, why can’t we?

Make them listen to us. Because the phone calls aren’t working. The e-mails aren’t working. Our blogging isn’t working.

We are heading down a dark and dangerous path from which we may never recover even if we can vote the bums out in 2010 and 2012 and whenever else they are up for re-election. Once the programs are a go, how do you say no. Not even Reagan could do that. Clinton and the Republicans managed welfare reform and now that’s being turned back!

Seriously, I’m in favor of even a non-violent revolution before our beloved Republic (if we can keep it) gets destroyed and turned into Euro-Socialism 2.0.

How much farther are we going to let them go before we actually do something about it?

    Who’s game?

    From The Corner on NRO:

Apparently the Porkapalooza bill, or at least portions of it, are being given to K Street Lobbyists and also being leaked. The press is contacting members of Congres to discuss and the staffers are perplexed because many members of Congress do not yet have a copy of any part of what is supposed to be voted on tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.

This is what I’m talking about – I’ve never seen the Democrats this bad before. They are insisting on shoving this thing through with little review or debate. Where’s the due process, where’s the debate, etc.????

It’s darn right CREEPY. I feel like I’m living in the Soviet Union.

Is there no power left in the Republicans to do something about this bill to forestall passing it? Anything at all? Have they been completely de-fanged?

Is this what we are left with – a bunch of socialist pigs running this country?

I am so riled up right now.

A huge difference in eloquence is that Lincoln had to speak. Mr Obama only has to read a teleprompter to spew words that somebody writes. Take a listen at the times he tried without his telecrutch. Then when he reads, he barks in three word bursts – is that because he won’t wear glasses and has big print? Then listen to the dorked up inflections – like recently when he clearly said something like something had to be done or the economy would be bad four years. Surely he meant “for years”, or did he really mean as long as he plans to be in office. So much for eloquence. If he must bark out his spiel from a tube, is he really as intelligent as Lincoln – after all there is just as much back up for his vaunted intelligence as there is for his birth, school and other records. Why is it that this is all hidden? Could anybody who turned over writing of the most important legislation in years to Mrs Pelosi really be as intelligent as supposed. Mayhap just present in the oval office – four years.

Unfortunately, LadyKrystyna, that is exactly what we have become. That it happened in 3 weeks is particularly alarming.

Obama was in Ft.Meyers yesterday, where my twin’s real estate business is on the verge of collapse. I know my sis works 16 hour days a lot, 7 days a week, and built this business from scratch.
A self-made woman, who never saw this coming. I bought a Florida retirement home in January 2006…precisely when the property values peaked. Moody’s said today that the housing bubble in Florida wont hit rock bottom until it sees a 70% decline. I asked my sister what it was right now…40%.

And Henrietta Hughes gets a kiss on the cheek and a promise of a new car, kitchen, and bathroom renovation. I wonder if she ever worked a 16 hour day?

  8. bernie tenney says:

Obama of late sounds more like Hugo Chavez or Robert Mugabe than Lincoln.
Rahm Emanuel is running the Country in the absence of leadership from Obama.
Judd Gregg did the honorable thing in refusing to enable the destruction of our remaining Liberties.
If Hillary had a shred of self respect she would do the same and leave this treacherous administration to twist in the wind.

  9. HALEY says:

I am seeing the Obama compared to Lincoln everywhere. It seems to be all the rage. I noticed they’ve included a few of Lincoln’s speeches in the 2009 Inaugural Address book which praises Obama complete with a “praise song of the day” – whatever the hell that is. And I also noticed that Doris Goodwin compares Obama and Lincoln in her new book “Team of Rivals”. The Leftists are just making up the idea of Obama being like Lincoln to excuse Obama’s actions toward a big government like he so much desires. Obama is nothing like Lincoln! For one, Lincoln wasn’t anti-American. And this video of Cuomo is sick to say the least!

Lincoln wasn’t all that great. He declared that he would accept slavery if that’s what it took to “save the union”. The union was formed as a voluntary association of sovereign states. Lincoln turned the USA into a monolithic amalgamation rather than the free association it was founded as. He abused personal liberties, setting the standard for those who would follow.

Popular history looks at Lincoln through fuzzy lenses. He was from the Hamilton branch rather than the Jefferson branch. Much to the distress of the country.

The main difference between Lincoln and Obama is that Lincoln was a great man and our finest president. Obama is neither.
