Specter, Collins and Snowe have all voted Yes. We all know our homework when it comes to these cretins. In the meantime, the final vote is being held until for Sherrod Brown who is attending his mother’s memorial service In Ohio. There are 59 Yes votes now, and Brown’s vote assures its passage. We knew this would happen, now we must work to limit the damage and remove those from office who betrayed this nation. The dangerousness of this bill, especially the Fascist Universal Health Care Monster contained within, will become apparent sooner than later, just has the freakishness of the Obama presidency.

Stimulus passage not until late tonight

And here’s the CSPAN2 link for live coverage of the beasts in their cave.

A note regarding coverage: I have an event tonight that I must attend so if Pat and Maynard could update the main post and all your Commenters could keep everyone further up-to-date that would be terrific.

And here’s one more tiny morsel restored and jammed into the crap: the provision which authorized checking on the legal status of people hired for projects funded by the Spendulus has been removed, guaranteeing that Mexicans will once again be able to suck whatever blood is left out of this country. Super!

***UPDATE by Pat*** Bill passed 60-38 at 10:46 p.m. Obama says we’ll have to rein in spending in the longer term. Obama will sign on Monday. No 5-day waiting period for public viewing as promised during the campaign. Here’s the Senate roll call.

***UPDATE by Pat 2/15*** Obama will sign on Tuesday in Denver.

Rep. McCotter made a brief speech after the House vote. This bill will not help Americans who are hurt by the economic hard times. Those people have to cut back and make sacrifices. Something Congress will not do. Those people are being used by irresponsible politicians to go on a giddy spending spree.

A trillion dollar mistake.

With any good luck, the Italians will take care of Pelosi for us and we won’t have her back. My questions is, how could we dupe the greater majority of congress to go on a fact finding mission (sans military escort) to determine the location of Osama Bin Laden, or die trying? Either way America would come out of it a winner.

No more of this phone-calling/email crap – they have ignored and insulted every single one of us for the very last time. If we don’t gather in large numbers now, I fear for what comes next. Everything has been happening quickly and they have no intention of slowing down because they want us to be weary with all the news in order to bend our will.

Are we going to let these dic(k)tators continue to wag their finger in our faces and tell us we’re gonna take it whether we like it or not? NO EFFING WAY!

Yes, we knew this thing would pass and we know who is responsible for it. But I don’t want to wait until 2010 – and we shouldn’t have to! There is no guarantee our election process as we know it will be preserved considering all the provisions for illegals and ACORN in this crap package. Plus, we can only guess what Rahm Emanuel has in store for the census take over. And God knows what they will push for next.

Now is no time to sit and wait for next year, and it’s not the time to get frustrated and bury our heads. It’s time to take it right to their g**d*** faces!

For AZ peeps: Reprehensible Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) is having a forum for 4 days next week so she can tell us just how good this crap sandwich she helped deliver is going to taste http://giffords.house.gov/press/press-releases/2009/TOPRESENTINFORMATIONONECONOMICRECOVERYLEGISLATIONATFOURFORUMS.shtml.

My understanding from the way the message is worded indicates those in attendance were already signed up. But there’s nothing stopping us from protesting outside of the locations & passing out the info she will not be discussing.

Plus her site has brand new info: Giffords will be meeting constituents tomorrow morning face-to-face! Here’s that info also: http://giffords.house.gov/press/press-releases/2009/TOHOST15THCONGRESSONYOURCORNERONSATURDAYFEBRUARY14ATFOOTHILLSMALL.shtml

For everyone in another district/state: check out your representatives sites & see if they are going to have similar tours & take the opportunity to attend & don’t be afraid to speak up!

What do you say in times like these? Honestly, people, I really try to understand the other guy’s point of view. In some cases they can make a reasonable argument, even though I disagree. But not here. There is nothing good in what Congress has done, and many compelling reasons it’s a harmful action, maybe even to the point of being suicidal. In a time of genuine crisis, Congress has chosen to squander the greater portion of the national treasure on the biggest political boondoggle in history. Not only is this economic lunacy, but it’s contrary to what Obama promised to do in his campaign. Remember that talk of “infrastructure” and “investment”? Remember the middle class tax breaks? Why won’t anybody call him on it?

When George Bush went into his own spending binge, there were at least some howls of protest from within the ranks of Republicans. Fed chairman Alan Greenspan was pointedly critical, and his words carried weight. So, for that matter, was John McCain.

It’s always easy to criticize the guy on the other team. The test of character is whether you keep your own people honest. This tragedy exposes the depths to which the Democrat party has fallen. When given the choice between wounding the nation and standing up to their own party, every one of their major players has chosen the path of national treachery. If there’s a debtors’ prison in Hell, that’s where they’re going.

They spend one trillion dollars and no one read the bill. Can you imagine? Our Founding Fathers are turning in their graves. Next week B.O. will ask for more money for the housing market. We must help all of the poor people who had no business getting money to buy something they couldn’t afford to being with. Sound familiar?

We must move on and be ready to loudly reject and protest parts of this bill (like socialized medicine) as they attempt to implement them. We can’t give up. B.O. has been in office less than one month and as he continues his “rockstar” tour Pelosi, Reed, Frank, Emanuel and company are running the country.

Wouldn’t it be great if TERM LIMITS was hidden somewhere in the all-you-can-eat crap buffet!

Representative McCotter is a true Patriot! His speech brought tears to my eyes and it is a shame the corrupt Al Capone politics of Chicago is lamely attempting to run this country right now. Yes, a shame the Patriots of this country have to fight the Audacity of Deceit right now. It is end soon, yes, Caligula (Obama) will bring his own defeat.

Well, ArtGal calmed me down; yes, you are right but I am still emailing and will followup from now on with handwritten letters. It’s such a losing proposition here in the Socialist State of Maryland but I am not going to be silenced anymore. The only good news I’ve heard is a rumor that Sen Mikulski may get tapped for a cabinet position. Maryland is funny; it has been known to throw the dogs out and vote in a Republican, ie, our last real Governor Bob Ehrlich and his LT, Michael Steele.

I watched Steele on The Glenn Beck Show last evening (yes, I suffered through having to watch GB); I was screaming at the TV. I could not believe my one hope (Steele) was not addressing the 3 senators who got bought off. He said he would speak to the American people in town halls etc – just like Obama is doing now!!! I wanted him to say he was calling in the trio but no, not one mention. I’ve been emailing chairman@gop.com and getting back these auto-response saying they would include my comments in their report to the Chairman. I hope the rest of you are emailing him! he might a really interesting “report” to read.

Too bad Barky isn’t observing the federal holiday Monday like all the other federal staff; it would give me more time to pray he has a conversion of heart. Hope against hope. (did I really just use his favorite word?)

Happy St Valentine’s Day, Tammy et al.

I am truly grateful to see this clip with Rep. McCotter. I am going to make a list of the true patroits and keep in touch with them. Not to sound overdramatic, but a great evil has come over our land. I was thinking yesterday that conservatives are gifted at analyzing and writing insightful prose in re: their analyses, but I agree with others who have posted similarly on this blog: WE NEED AN ACTIVIST GAME PLAN! Something well planned, visible but to the point, something extremely effective. We need to take America back.

  14. Kelly says:

I share all of your frustration, anger, disgust and despair about the road down which our country is headed. Feeling pretty isolated and helpless just outside of Nancy Pelosi’s district in Northern California, the only thing that made me feel a little better was calling the seven House Democrats who voted against the stimulus. I was able to leave messages for all but two. Congressman Griffith’s voicemail box in his D.C. office was full and the number for Walt Minnick’s office seems to have a glitch that doesn’t even identify it as a viable number.

I’m now turning my attention to the inevitable attempts to restore the so-called Fairness Doctrine and more attacks on the Second Amendment. I don’t know exactly what can be done in terms of the Fairness Doctrine, but as far as the Second Amendment goes, I’ve joined all the gun rights organizations and bought my first gun.

We conservatives are not usually as vociferous in our opposition to issues as our leftist counterparts are, but I think the election of Barkey and the actions of his administration and the Democrats in general have awakened a sleeping giant. At least I hope so.

Listening to Representative McCotter brought tears to my eyes too because I know all to well what Greg is going through. Our family has undergone a pay cut and we will be expected to pay more out of pocket for health care. Our family has made many sacrifices, we’ve done without, we’ve cut back and yet congress wants my family to dig even deeper into our pocket to support their pet projects.

Well, my pet project is to try to stay afloat; pay our bills, put food on our table and some how, some way send our kids to college in the very near future. A silver lining through all this is our kids are learning a very valuable lesson: politics do matter; words do count; and actions speak volumes.

One of the truly brilliant people in my world (my CPA) sent me this today: “I spent two hours today reading through HR1, realizing that what little relief it contains for taxpayers is indeed aimed at W-2 wage earners (i.e., the Democrats’ base). Tax credit for COBRA health ins coverage, an additional $25/week in unemployment benefits , tiny little increases in the Earned Income Tax Credit — all for W-2 employees and laid-off W-2 employees. The bill specifically excludes self-employment income from being counted in every formula for tax credits and benefits. I can’t believe how much money is allocated for health care REPORTING — and nothing at all for actual health care. It makes me sick just thinking about it.”
