As expected, Snowe, Collins and Specter joined the Democrats to end debate on the bill. Judd Gregg abstained. Coward. This means they will officially vote on this PoS tomorrow at noon, and then it goes to the conference committee in an attempt to reconcile the House version with the Senate version.
Continue to not only Annoy the Senate, but now it’s time to Annoy the House.
And don’t forget Hopey McChange is having his first prime time press conference tonight at 8pm ET where he will take lying to whole new level.
I’m really beginning to despise these people.
I don’t think I’ll have the stomach to watch. Why do I have the feeling he’ll just belittle us…
I just have one thing to say:
F**K ‘EM ALL! – AND THEIR LITTLE FUHRER, TOO!
I cant stand to watch Obama –I’m already on the fringe of screaming and crying! He’ll just lie to us and use his fear mongering tactics.
OMG…I listening to HIM! I’m about to hurl…
So far he’s said “spend, spend, spend”
I don’t know about you but I don’t want money to spend…I want to SAVE!
And he’s bashing those who don’t believe the sky is falling to “talk to one of those who lost a job.”. We’ll Mr. President, I have and they don’t agree with you!
Now, questions from the media…
Why, oh why does the government want the middle class to go out and SPEND. We need the money to pay our bills and mortgage rather than jetset off somewhere for vacation because we’ve had a bad day in the office.
Oh here comes the Iran questions….
I think my bp is going up…
Obama has his list and he’s checking it twice
for his favorite reporters.
I thought a Press Conference was suppose to be
an open forum ?
OMG! The problem is “bad habits”?!?! Let’s start with Barney Frank, Chriss Dodd and the rest of his administration who “forgot” to pay taxes!
(and how many times and I say OMG!? LOL)
Is anyone else watching this…
I can understand that there are a few wobbly Republicans, but is there not one sensible Democrat?
Major Garrett – 1; Barkey – 0.
I just don’t get why people think he’s such a great speaker…parts of this are so mind numbingly boring it would make the ultimate sleeping aid. If only his words didn’t have any consequences…
Most importantly, don’t give up. This thing CAN still be killed. The conference report will be a whole new bill that will have to be approved by both chambers, which means another cloture vote in the Senate. And Judd Gregg should resign immediately if he’s going to abstain, so the people of New Hampshire can have their full voice (though I suspect Bonnie “Republicans for Lynch” Newman could wind up with Snowe, Collins and Specter).
don’t forget John Cornyn (R, TX) also was “not voting” along with Judd Gregg.
So we have J&J (John-Judd) the two liberals and self-proclaimed ‘republicans’ in Snowe and Collins.
And one curious, anything-for-political-expediency Arlen Specter.
Those 5 need to be out of Senate jobs come re-election. Why pretend to be a Republican when you’re really a Democrat?
The pain, from Maine weighs heavily on my brain.
You got a Friend in Pennsylvannia? With friends like that who needs……….. I can’t believe
this is the same guy I was cheering for during the Hill/Thomas hearings back in 91. Best of all
Johnny Mack now has grown some bal…stones.
A little late don’t you think Senator? God I HATE RINO’s
Obama is a real psychological downer. Is it possible he lacks life experience to see the economy in perspective? Where was he in 78-82?
Many of us were there and know better than all this depression, catastrophe talk.
Obama’s ideology may be a product of nothing more than Oprah and Rev. Wright, he may lack a true socio-economic compass.
I am so damn sick of this….just sick of it. And I think it’s time that people stop talking about this and take action.
That’s why I propose a “SECOND BOSTON TEA PARTY”–a nationwide march on Washington, DC protesting the blatant and criminal confiscation of our hard-earned money to buy our lawmakers more and more power, damaging our country’s financial security and saturating our federal budget with theft, corruption, and mountains of debt. It is time people said, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!!!!” I think a march on Washington, DC, a million people strong, with a swath of speakers who can articulate the thievery going on by our elected officials, and who can keep the pressure up for days until something breaks over there. We need to scream to high heaven about it. We need to be heard. And we need to plant ourselves on the doorstep of our nation’s capitol until we get fiscal responsibility, not the endless piles of crap both parties have put on OUR doorsteps for so long.
A MARCH ON WASHINGTON!!!! Who is with me?????
APPLETOWN – Oh, count me in BIG TIME!
I’m afraid if we don’t take our protest to the streets of DC, there will be more things shoved through at break-neck speed that will keep us from being able to protest in great numbers at all. I’m also concerned that gas prices will start spiking again making it impossible for us to be mobile.
We’re not living in an America ran by elected officials who take pride in this country – they simply want to take over. This is a WAR between ‘us’ and ‘them’ – ‘we the people’ vs. ‘government excess’.
I turned on the tv at about 8:55 ET and I watched for less than a minute (as much as I could stand). In that less than a minute, Barkey was talking about how he feels that the Conservatives have no room to critize or make decisions due to their recent fiscal irresponsibility. I don’t remember his exact words but that’s what he meant. The thing is, we’re not saying that Bush wasn’t wrong. We’re saying that socialism is what got us into this mess and more socialism certainly won’t get us out of it. Bush failed because he acted like a socialist Democrat. That’s why Conservatives are so against this pork bill. One thing that came to mind is how B. Hussein accused McPalin of being “out of touch” during the election season. I know one thing for sure – McPalin would never try to pass a pork “stimulus” bill like this one. Never! Who’s out of touch, B. Hussein?
Two basic universal TRUTHS can’t borrow your way out of debt or drink yourself sober.
