Last night was Jindal’s chance to shine–he did not. No excuses. Next. Palin, considering her position as the party’s VP nominee, should have been the response. Call and email the RNC and Steele demanding Palin as the voice of the party. Let’s be serious–the DOP cannot afford another Jindal Moment.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table – everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be…. quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

    Now let’s see.

Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to “press one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.

It’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder

Asking for some help here Tammy… how about a shout out to Laura Ingraham for consideration of the following for her “Separated at Birth” segment?:

    I’m just a voice in the darkness…

wow, count me in the minority but I had no idea Jindal’s performance fell flat with many audience members until someone told me so.

I thought it was a nice speech. He didn’t offer anymore specifics than Barack Obama did but it’s not as though Barack Obama offered specifics either.

Well other than something about “not one penny” and “two hundred fifty thousand”

How did Jindal not shine? I’m watching it now and I think he did a great job.

nothing much to say but i love tammy!! yeahhh!!

  6. Rod says:

Aw sh*t! For the umpteenth time in the last 20 years “The BUSH Machine” has laid an egg! It sure looks like the GOP is headed for a long walk in the wilderness.
Bobby’s better than anyone but Sarah. But she’s much better than he. She’s also way too conservative for the “BUSH Machine”; which is why the GOP will continue to be out of power.

  7. Allen says:

So, Bobby Jindal was a little stiff in his rebuttal and we throw him out? Judge the man on his actions and accomplishments rather than the way he speaks. Are we not in a mess now because we elected someone who speaks well but is generally vapid? I’m a Louisiana resident who has witnessed the brilliance of this man. He took decisive and effective action during hurricanes Rita, Katrina and Gustav (as governor). Isn’t that more important? I don’t know if he can capture the nation’s imagination, but giving up after one mis-step doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I do like Sara Palin. I didn’t give up on her either after some bad press and interviews.

  8. CinderellaMan says:

I like Jindal, but what we need is someone who can coalesce the base, and fire us up. I truly haven’t seen anyone emerge that I feel comfortable with.

What about Boehner? He gave the best speech of all the Republicans in opposition to the passage of the “stimulus” bill. We need a tough guy, now.

There are so many out there who may be viable… loved Rush’s CPAC speech, and agree with him, but I still think Newt is a great choice. Kay Bailey Hutchinson? Tim Pawlenty?

Someone will emerge. Jindal is a great guy, but let’s be honest, he came off ( in his rebuttal speech ) stilted, rehearsed, and a little bit “geekish”. You aren’t going to beat Obama like that.
