I guess revealing CIA interrogation techniques via CIA legal memos didn’t give enough aid, comfort and encouragement to the enemy.
At this point it’s worth reiterating what Glenn Beck has asked, why doesn’t Barack Obama just set us on fire and get it over with?
In a letter from the Justice Department to a federal judge yesterday, the Obama administration announced that the Pentagon would turn over to the American Civil Liberties Union 44 photographs showing detainee abuse of prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush administration.
The photographs are part of a 2003 Freedom of Information Act request by the ACLU for all information relating to the treatment of detainees — the same battle that led, last week, to President Obama’s decision to release memos from the Bush Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel providing legal justifications for harsh interrogation methods that human rights groups call torture.
This is outrageous and egregious compromise of our intelligence professionals. I would move for impeachment on this alone. Why? Because, your lives’, my fellow citizens, are now at risk. No allies, with whom we’ve secured intelligence coperation, will be too ready to cooperate as they see what we’ve done to ourselves.
Releasing (abuse?) pictures is nothing less than ghoulish voyeurism. Pure Evil on both sides of the face. Tomorrow I’m attending a meeting of members of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers at Merrimack College. The chatter should be interesting.
The left (Soros/move-on crowd)thinks this will so inflame the world that it WILL call for the procecution of Bush officials and advisers, as well as all military personnel involved and their commanders.
Then, the new truth and light administration of hope, will stike out upon a new path, and no Republican will ever be elected again. The Republicans will be tarred with the “party of Abu-Grab” moniker in every election, right up until the next catastrophic terror attack, which will most likeley be a dirty nuke, or an EMP strike.
It will inflame the world, and the loonies will be certain to redouble their efforts to attack us again. The insult of forcing a whack job to eat a pigs foot, is absolute justification for mass genocide of innocents to these people.
Obama is going to irresponsibly loose a plague of terror/vengence on us.
What if the CIA discovered a plot by al qaeda to carry an attack out on the White House? I wonder if he’d support waterboarding in that case? Something to ponder.
Snowcloud, no he wouldn’t.
On the other hand, if Air Force One were the target, he’d have people beaten bloody.
Barack Hussein Obama has once again placed politics before national security.
The Obama camp now indicates that they were going to lose on appeal again to the ACLU, and so they agreed to release the pictures.
Hmmm.. pictures of Lynndie England? Pictures of Abu Ghraib? Old news for sure, so one has to ask, why release them again? Why release them at all? I didn’t hear about a deal cut between the ACLU and the White House. There was no deal, and in fact, does an issue involving the definition of torture and coercive force not mandate a supreme court decision? They didn’t want it to go that far, only to lose before the highest court in the land.
This is pure politics. Disgraceful, and completely irresponsible for a sitting president. The very brave staff within our CIA, FBI, NSA, and military deserved much better than being thrown under the bus. I am certain it will be decades before effective espionage and covert investigation will be restored. In the interim, the American people remain open to attack, here and abroad.
The ACLU should change their acronym to ALCU ( American Liberal Civilites Union )… it would be more appropriate for an organization that expended over 2 million dollars for such civilities as representing two members of the North American Man-Boy Love Association for the rape, murder, and torture of a 15 year old boy.
Aren’t we all glad an entity like this is looking out for our civil liberties?
As every day passes, I shake my head like the elderly man in the movie, “Cabaret” when the Hitler youth stands and sings, and how one by one everyone stands and sings. I keep thinking about that cute youtube of the little boy coming off of the nitrous oxide – “is this going to last forever?”
Hey Kathy,
There’s a similar scene in “Casablanca”, when the oppressed French Moroccan’s start singing in unison in opposition to German occupation and control of the French Foreign Legion.
Without question, we are being attacked by the left. What is underway is well beyond arrogance and agenda… it’s a concerted movement being orchestrated by the far left. Forget any kind of common ground with regard to the significant issues of our time; they are bent on ramming through their new era of socialization.
Just watch how socialized healthcare gets pushed through. This will cost an increase in each household a year which will be a very significant rise in an already increasing local and school tax burden. And wait until “Cap in Trade” kicks in. Our energy costs will at least double. Think about that… several months this past winter I paid over $400.00 for heat and electric alone. $800.00 for heat and electric?
Joe the Plumber wasn’t wrong folks. Barack Obama lied every step of the way.
I can’t believe Americans would condone torture and abuse… We made our own bed under Bush’s reign, and now we have to lie in it. Thank god we have a President with integrity and the moral fortitude to do the right thing.
Torture and abuse is wrong. In the long run, it does NOT save American lives, despite what Cheney et. al. argue. In the long run it nurtures terrorist sympathies and destroys American values.

I’m at a loss for words. This way lies madness and total ruin. The bell can’t be unrung. I fear we are all well and truly f***ed.
It begins by not having security provisions surrounding the effort to get intelligence. The first leak started the flood. Americans may think they’re enlightened about the ‘special studies’ in these four-year finishing schools, called colleges, but the failure and contempt for history is outrageous.
