It seems Obama has found another America-hating thug to cozy up to now that it’s more difficult to hang out with Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers. (Pics HT to Jake Tapper). Obama, Venezuela’s Chavez shake hands at summit. This after Obama rightly accused Chavez just last month of exporting terrorism. Pathetic.

Maybe he is trying to get the commie drug trafficker to stop shipping guns to his Mexican drug terrorists. Talking does wonders.

  2. MPThree says:

This is very disturbing. Only a few months ago it was inconceivable to think of a US president cozying up to a dictator like Chavez.

I used to work for a company with offices in Caracas and traveled there many times. As soon as Chavez arrived on the scene, an exodus of every talented person began, and now they are in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the US.

The implications of this naive and appeasing foreign policy are troubling and harmful.

Well, the European leaders who are trying to ebb off the virtues of their democratic socialism, handed BO his hat; Chavez, Noreiga and company will probaly do something else in it.
And he’ll probably wear it home as if it’s a crown.

This picture – MAKES – ME – SICK!

How would you feel if you were one of the freedom-loving citizens of Venezuela who is trying to push back against this thug dictator?

And you see the President of the United States, who is supposed to represent freedom to the world, yucking it up with his new buddy.

He’s just like Carter! Carter handed South America over, just like he handed Iran over to the the dark side.

Tink, I have the same feeling. It really is sickening and disturbing. If anyone is unaware of the trouble we are in with this clown in the white house, if this doesn’t wake them up, nothing will.

I guess Chavez can put up with the stench of the devil that he said thebama has.

Although I have no love for Chavez or Obama, if Obama encountered Chavez unavoidably (i.e. he did not go right up to him to greet him) then what should Obama have done? Should he have snubbed Chavez, or greeted him without shaking hands? What is the protocol for a situation like this? How did Reagan handle such situations (if he was ever in a situation like this)?

Look at the handshake, that’s not even professional, much less presidential.. that’s like your best buddy type of handshake.. SICK. http://i44.tinypic.com/288umte.jpg

  9. CinderellaMan says:

This is simply the most outrageous behavior of a president I have ever seen. Chavez is an outlaw dictator who has directly insulted the former president of the United States, and who threatens the world economy and security through his backdoor dealings with rogue nations and support for Russian military presence in the western hemisphere.

Instead of patronizing the likes of Calderone and Raul Castro, our president would have served his country better by standing in solidarity with the Cuban freedom fighters, and by making Mexico understand that orderly immigration can only be realized by their forming a real alliance to stop illegal arms importations to Mexico, illegal drug exports to America, and illegal immigrants from crossing our border.

And we though Harry Belafonte was nuts.

hussein and chavez are like minded filth…they
are morally bankrupt sociopaths. this explains
the bright smiles…simply birds of feather.

I don’t know about Reagan, but if I were president I would not attend a summit organized by the Organization of American States, an evil communist organization. The OAS was a big player in getting rid of Somoza in Nicaragua–and Carter happily obliged. South America would be very different were it not for them.

I read Somoza’s autobiography when I was in high school, and his country was totally betrayed by Carter and his administration.

If the president has standards and a guiding philosophy of not rubbing shoulders with communist ditators, his handlers know it, and make arrangements accordingly.

  12. Talkin Horse says:

Can’t imagine how anyone could accuse this man of palling around with terrorists.

  13. John says:

Tink, so you’re basically saying Obama shouldn’t have been in that situation in the first place? Thank you, that makes sense. It was bothering me that everyone was criticizing the handshake but I wasn’t sure if that was inappropriate protocol or not (reminded me of how the Left went nuts over that picture of Rumsfeld and Hussein shaking hands in the ’80s). But if he was wrong for being there at all, then it makes the handshake look very bad.

At least when Tammy criticized Obama’s bowing to the Saudi mucketymuck, she explained why that was wrong and how it made our enemies perceive us. But with the handshake, I wasn’t hearing much in the way of explanation of why that was wrong or inappropriate (outside of the fact that it was Chavez). If people criticized the method of how he shook hands (like DawnofAnewError did in the picture they posted), I would have been with them.

  14. Junie says:

I saw Gov. Ed Rendell on Morning Joe today. They were talking about BO not defending the U.S. after the diatribes by Chavez, Ortega and their ilk at the summit. Gov. Rendell actually said something like Obama didn’t need to say anything in that instance because he shows toughness when it was appropriate like the rescue of Capt. Phillips…….I almost choked on my tea. Rendell never uttered any kudos to the Seals but rather all his praise was for BO’s toughness. This after BO waited DAYSSSSS to give the order and then with a caveat that force be used only if the Captain life was in imminent danger. I’m sure had the operation gone badly, this administration would have no problem blaming the “trigger happy troops/potential terrorists” and prosecuting them, yet Rendell says that was a sign of BO’s toughness. God help us all…

  15. Tink says:

Hey John, yes that’s my opinion. This “summit” only began in 1994 and is held every four years I think. What’s the point? They don’t accomplish anything (as was announced just yesterday or today).

Even being there is legitimizing those corrupt communist leaders, which I would not do if I were the U.S. president.

Reagan tried to save South America from the communists but was fought at every turn by the Dems. Now with Chavez (and Ortega) we’re reaping what the Left has sown.
