Here’s the CDC page which says we 20 “laboratory confirmed” cases os “swine” flu, yet don’t say which laboratory. They do, however, send us to the WHO website.
Here’s the WHO page which the DCD sends is to re the “confirmed” swine flu cases which then notes this:
All 20 viruses [in the U.S.] have the same genetic pattern based on preliminary testing. The virus is being described as a new subtype of A/H1N1 not previously detected in swine or humans.
So, in other words, they haven’t even seen this strain in swine, yet still call it swine flu. Just like every single year, they’ve found a ‘new’ sort of flu virus. Yet every year there is a new strain. The flu virus is a living thing which mutates.
So, the CDC refers to the WHO for proof, which refers back to the CDC. The WHO however, reveals at least that all these “confirmed” cases are preliminary and not ever before seen in pigs or humans. In other words, they don’t know what straini it is, like they never “know” what the new strain is. That’s why it’s called new.
The CDC also note that, like a miracle, existing flu drugs work on this super-duper crazy animal/human/martian strain of the flu. Oseltamivir, which is the technical name for Tamiflu sold by Glaxo Smith Kline and Zanamivir, the technical name for Relenza sold by Roche.

NYC’s Union Square thinks it’s a great idea to unveil a painting depicting Urkel as Jesus. Gee, I wonder what would happen if we say it depicts him as Mohammad?

Isn’t it odd that the press is panicked over this (non)swine flu at the exact moment Kathleen Sebelius is being voted on for Heath & Human Services Secretary?
It reminds me of when Geithner was pushed through because of the financial emergency.
Imagine being in over your head and your teleprompter breaks down.
This is a person who would associate himself with Lincoln as a great orator. Lincoln penned his notes to the Gettysburg Address on scraps of paper en route to the site.
This clown can blow a fuse when his teleprompter studders. The country could be saved by a circuit-breaker.

Just think of the awesome responsibility afforded to those in charge of the teleprompter loading and functioning.

I’m glad you raised the Miss California issue again today. As a gay male, I resent without reserve, the attitude of Hilton.
Frankly, he’s done more to alienate good, open-hearted people regarding gay issues whose good will has secured greater franchise for us that any screaming queen.

I agree with you SHAWMUT. This queen can’t articulate an argument. And to think some people will assume he speaks for all gays!! If anything Trump knew exactly what he was doing when choosing a Hollywood gossip as a judge. He wanted publicity for his pagent and he got it.

Sacrilege is the violation or injurious treatment of a sacred object. In a less proper sense, any transgression against the virtue of religion would be a sacrilege. It can come in the form of irreverence to sacred persons, places, and things.
This is called by some in media a “publicity stunt”. A depiction of Obama in a position like Jesus on the cross. THIS IS BEYOND OBSCENE! I thought Tammy was joking. This madness and disrespect for Christians has to be dealt with and stopped, or what is next? As Tammy pointed what would happen were this a depiction of Obama as Mohammad? All kinds of crap would hit the fan.
If this man, our President (it pains me to say) had one ounce of decency, he would not allow this unveiling in such a public, prominent place. A museum, okay, we have a choice to see it or not. Union Square is a public venue – this is like the huge images of Saddam Hussein that we saw early on in the Iraq war, painted all over Baghdad. Is this what our country is coming too?

But who listens; or reads about the poison of propaganda or- – even history? If we, of the democratic tradition, can’t see parallels to this, we have learned nothing. This sacrilegious portrait was very upsetting on a number of levels. I am pleased to hear that its unveiling has been canceled. However, I am skeptical that it will be scrapped all together. The sad truth of the matter is that many people in this country actually think B Hussein is a divine being. This mindset is the root of the problem and the portrait is merely a symptom. If this pattern of proclaiming B Hussein “The Messiah” continues, it is not just Christians who will be in dire straights. Rulers and governments who become powerful enough to grant their citizens necessities will be powerful enough to take them away.
It certainly will be convenient for the Left and the administration if this flu panic suppresses the nationwide July 4 tea parties, either by public fears or government curtailment. All the more reason to show up.
By the way, here in Atlanta it is reported that the ERs are jammed with worried people, and the school systems have swine flu info and links on their websites. I am concerned we are swiftly approaching hysteria. J
