North Korea and What John Bolton Knew

After NoKo’s outrageous nuclear test yesterday, Powerline has an excellent post reminding us that there are some honest, clear and prophetic men among us–one of them being my hero John Bolton.

Remember when Biden said we better “gird our loins” because the world would test Urkel? I wonder if people would have reacted differently is he said we better “gird our bomb shelters”?

What John Bolton knew

The underground nucleat test announced by North Korea appears to come as something of a surprise to the Obama administration. Yet the Obama administration has acted with nothing but complacency about the nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran. In a May 20 Wall Street Journal column, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton predicted:

The curtain is about to rise again on the long-running nuclear tragicomedy, “North Korea Outwits the United States.” Despite Kim Jong Il’s explicit threats of another nuclear test, U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Bosworth said last week that the Obama administration is “relatively relaxed” and that “there is not a sense of crisis.” They’re certainly smiling in Pyongyang.

Ambassador Bolton found that Bosworth and his colleagues were providing the North Koreans with nothing but encouragement:

Despite Pyongyang’s aggression, Mr. Bosworth has reiterated that the U.S. is “committed to dialogue” and is “obviously interested in returning to a negotiating table as soon as we can.” This is precisely what the North wants: America in a conciliatory mode, eager to bargain, just as Mr. Bush was after the 2006 test.

I think it’s safe to say they’re smiling in Tehran (or should I say “the Islamic Republic of Iran”?) too.

Pure extortion? Maybe. Buying time? Maybe.
Watch the progression of nuclear tests and missile testing (both North Korea and Iran).
What besides commitment to dominance, and other spites, do they have in common? They have populations who have been able to endure hardships that we haven’t witnessed in ages.
Should all our taken-for-granted ways, of life be sticken – life by circuit-board, would we rally.
Now – look up – Electric Magnetic Pulse Bomb.
(It requires only a high arc, climax with a nuclear activity whose effects can be directed.)
No big blast or flash, no foreign troops would have to enter the stricken area; eliminating a charge of aggreession. Utilities and communications would be subject to compromise.
And, by the way, should you think I’ve lit up a fat-boy and blowing weed, I’m not.
It has been referenced by Congressional Committees, the alphabet agencies, Gingrich, Bolton, Gens.Powell, Myers.
Today, Bolton is the voice to hear; listen clearly, re-play or re-read what he puts out.
Oh, yes, add an extra bottle to the fridge every day, keep aspirin handy and …limber up the knee joints…as we might find ourselves praying a little more than we have been.
