On The O’Reilly Factor Tonight
by Tammy on June 30, 2009I’ll be on with guest host Monica Crowley discussing SC First Lady Jenny Sanford and her dignified reaction to husband Mark Sanford’s outrageous behavior. Hope you can tune in :) UPDATE 820p: Surprise, surprise. AP Newsbreak: SC gov ‘crossed lines’ with women This is hardly surprising. When you’re comfortable enough to leave the country, your wife and 4 sons to cheat, and the then lie constantly about it, you’ve done it before. Jenny needs to leave this freak as soon as she can, for herself and to show her sons that there are repercussions to deplorable actions like this.

Norm Coleman Has Finally, Officially, Lost to a Clown
by Tammy on June 30, 2009And Washington, DC has one more to add to their circus finally admitting an actual clown to the formerly esteemed Senate. No more can they pretend to be anything other than what they all are. Court declares Franken the winner of Minnesota Senate race Minnesota’s Supreme Court has dismissed former Sen. Norm Coleman’s challenge to the state’s November election results and declared Democratic challenger Al Franken the winner. The unanimous opinion ruled that Franken “received the highest number of votes legally cast” and is entitled “to receive the certificate of election as United States senator from the state of Minnesota.” The former “Saturday Night Live” writer and performer had declared victory in the disputed race after a recount ended in...

Refresh the page for additional links.** Deficit forces California to issue IOUs Urkel congratulates himself on the mess he’s making. “Not bad for 6 months.” For some reason, Meghan McCain thinks adulterous politicians should be forgiven and can still do a darn good job representing their constituents. Because lying, cheating and betraying the ones closest to you should not at all be held against you or should make people presume you might betray complete strangers known as “constituents.” While you use tax payer money to indulge in your cheating. And while it exposes you to blackmail and other sundry stuff. Not at all. No sirree. Gee, I wonder where she gets these...

Your Easy GOP Cap & Tax 8 List
by Tammy on June 30, 2009As my friend Jim Treacher notes on Twitter, Sonny Bono’s second wife gave us “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.” Now his fifth wife is the one woman of the 8 DOP (Dead Old Party) who decided voting for an energy tax, the biggest tax increase on Americans in history, would be a good idea. Some Repubs (the editorial director at the Washington Examiner specifically) are whining that calling these traitors to party, principles and their constituencies, is too harsh, mean, and well, mean. Because, after all, being really, really nice and not saying anything when you’re getting shafted is so much better. Obviously. Sweet God No! E-Coli Found in Cookie Dough
by Tammy on June 29, 2009What additional evidence do we need as proof the world has gone to hell than to be told a horrible bacteria has been found in cookie dough? FDA says E. coli found in Nestle sample The Food and Drug Administration said Monday a sample of raw cookie dough collected at a Nestle USA manufacturing plant last week has tested positive for E. coli. Nestle voluntarily recalled all Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products made at the Danville, Va., factory earlier this month after the FDA told Nestle it suspected consumers may have been exposed to E. coli bacteria after eating the dough raw…In a statement, Nestle said the sample that tested positive came from a 16-ounce Toll House refrigerated chocolate...

How *I* Would Implement Cap and Trade!
by Maynard on June 29, 2009Maynard solves everything Bear with me. I’m about to save the nation. We’ve got to do cap and trade. The world demands it. If we don’t do cap and trade, we’re worse than Hitler. (We’re worse than Hitler anyway, but if we don’t do cap and trade, we’re much worse than Hitler.) We need more than a minimal framework. Since we’re in the world’s spotlight, Congress has got to deliver The Real Thingâ„¢. Anything less would diminish Mr. Obama’s image, and we can’t have that. We’re going to mandate CO2 emissions to be no higher than in 1492, when Columbus arrived and made his first campfire. We’ll pass a strong law, a law that will tell everyone we’re serious this...

What is “Cap and Trade”?
by Maynard on June 28, 2009A post by Maynard As the nation debates “cap and trade”, I wonder how many people understand what we’re contemplating. Let me try to set down the basic situation as I understand it. Of course I have strong opinions, but I’ll try to put these aside for this post. We’ve long had laws and regulations against dumping pollutants into the environment. Nobody is debating whether people have the right not to be poisoned, but we may reasonably question what constitutes a threat requiring government intervention, or whether the contemplated form of intervention will do more good than harm. When you burn fuel, you initiate a chemical process in which a carbon-based material combines with oxygen from the air. The result...

Hitting the Nail on the Head, Sort of
by Pat_S on June 28, 2009A post by Pat There are grounds for cautious optimism that we may now be near the end of the search for the ultimate laws of nature. —-Steven Hawking Contributing to closing in on the ultimate laws of nature, scientists at the University of Massachusetts studied hammering ability. They found that men are better than women at hammering in the dark whereas women are better at hammering in the light. Alas, there is as yet no scientific explanation for this. They say it will require a lot more data, i.e., more studies. I’d say the women probably think it’s a bit foolish to hammer in the dark. When Hammering, Women Nail It We filmed how subjects hammered, and how close...
