Wow! Thanks everyone for making our weekend independent debut such a success! (Thanks to Pat S. for the screen cap :)
The first Tammy Radio Weekend Goes Commando is done. Yes, lots of work to do, and it for sure was a Beta version, but next Saturday’s show will be all the better for the lessons learned today.
I had a software problem regarding music bumpers which is why they were absent. That will be fixed for next time. Also, the end was abrupt, that was my fault. There’s a bit of a delay from me to the stream and I didn’t account for that. Next time I will :) We will also also produced break segments, giving all of you who listen live a chance to do your break things, too.
As I mentioned on the show, my breaks will promote tea parties, conservative events, and other information that will help the new independent conservative revolution. If you have something you’d like to be promoted on Tammy Radio Weekend, send an email to tammyblog@yahoo.com with the details and we’ll consider it.
Shortly the podcast of the show will post here at the blog. In addition to your feedback of the live show, please do let me know how you like the podcast which is a duplicate of the live program.
Thanks again everyone for being so patient and supportive. Today was great, and it will only get better!
Great show! Can’t wait for next week.
Since the show was earlier than I expected, I didn’t have a link in place in time (at StreamingRadioGuide.com). It is there now for next week, and I posted a message pointing people here.
Good luck
LOVED the Commando Weekender, and I know I will love the podcast. I can’t always listen to the entire show on Saturdays, other activities to squeeze in; but I’ll be listening to the podcast first thing every Monday morning after signing in to work. Thanks Tammy!
Great job, Tammy!
Good: Better bitrate, lower noise floor.
Bad: Level too low. Show started with highest peak amplitude around -5 dB (60%)…lower than necessary, but ok. At 5 min 20 secs peak level abruptly reduced further to -9 dB (30%). Tammy needs more headroom than most but this was a bit too much. The Newt clip was extremely low (-20 dB). Ditto for Krauthammer (-16 dB), Churchill (-15 dB), and Patton (-15 dB). Oh, and the Avengers intro was the lowest of the bunch at -24 dB. Overall, not bad for a Beta but room for improvement :)
Looks like terrestrials are airing ‘best of’. WVNN, WMAL, TRN, and KDOX all ran the 05-23 Saturday show.
Still no podcast to download :(
oops – headroom was meant tongue-in-cheek.
Forgot to add – get Tammy a stereo mic. The new bitrate will handle stereo. Mono is so dated :)
We got you at the regular time, here in Coastal Oregon (broadcast from Humbolt County), regular time. Being of the stubborn/obtuse type, I won’t buy an Ipod until it either helps me navigate the boat better in fog, or snaps onto the picatinny rail of a Smith & Wesson MP-9 for closer target patterns.
I was half dozing on the couch when you mentioned a signed photo of you and snuffy for being an early signer of something or other. I immediately snapped awake but missed the details. What is that flaming hoop or sign-up thing you talked of?
HI,
I couldn’t find a posting of the downloadable file. I assume it is here because the blog says it would be there w/in 1-2 hours of your live stream. It is 10:10EST. I would suggest haveing a tab or link at the top of the webpage, so we can find it more easily.
Good luck with the new arrangement; we’ll miss the show on WMAL.
Hi, Tammy:
Greeeeeaaaat first-timer. And I really enjoyed the Patton audio. There are times when a good, swift, reality kick in the pants is needed to get us started and do our duty.
BTW, for those in the Los Angeles, CA area, there are a statue and stained glass window in General Patton’s honor in San Gabriel. They’re at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, on West Roses Road.
I found them by pure coincidence. I went to shoot [photograph] the church for a class assignment, and I saw the statue of General Patton on the grounds between the church and the family plot.
