Michael Vick Released from Federal Custody
by Tammy on July 20, 2009Let’s make karma a bitch, shall we? Scum dog torturer and murderer Michael Vick was released from federal custody this morning and it’s important to never forget what this piece of human refuse has done. I mention this because Vick is going to start lobbying for a football career comeback. It’s important to send a message to everyone who would hurt the voiceless that the repercussions of doing so are lifelong and you will not be forgiven. We know of the link between serial killers and killing defenseless animals; we also know of the sort of depravity it takes to torture a creature that can’t even say “no.” Enough is enough. Look, football clubs can do as they please, and...

Taking the Lord’s Name in ‘Vain’
by Pat_S on July 19, 2009A post by Pat Ladies and gentlemen, there has been a Divine intervention. I missed it myself. Probably others as well so thank heavens Mark Sanford has taken the trouble to explain it to us. You see, his tragic “misfortune” is one of those mysterious ways in which God often works. The point of it all was to enlighten the Governor on how to better approach things like school spending. God controls how these things work out and now Mark is in on the plan. He was off just a tiny bit it seems because he needs to make only a few alterations in his approach to achieve a more productive legislative session. Mark apologizes because humbling is part of...

The Imperial Way to Cost Cutting
by Pat_S on July 18, 2009A post by Pat The approach of the federal government is increasingly autocratic. Dictate executive pay. Smother industry with cap and trade. Censor speech with hate crimes legislation. Those are but a few examples of the growing sense of uncontrolled power coming out of Washington. The latest example is the government’s version of health care “cost cutting”. The targets are The Rich, health care providers and your life. The government’s method of “cost cutting” is to wrap their omnipotent hands around the target and squeeze. How Will Obama Pay for Health Care?
by Maynard on July 18, 2009I oppose government health care on ideological grounds, but pragmatic questions are always on the table. I claim my ideology leads to workable structures, and opposing ideologies do not. Obama knows his budget is a catastrophe. Apparently he doesn’t care. Ideology above all, and damn the real-world consequences. Obama is aware of growing budgetary concern among his moderate supporters, and he is trying to reassure the public that socialized medicine won’t double-kill the economy. In Friday’s speech he did his “read my lips” thing: “Health insurance reform cannot add to our deficit over the next decade, and I mean it. Let me repeat: Health insurance reform cannot add to our deficit over the next decade and I mean it.” Wow....

What Will Happen If Obama Death Care Does Not Pass
by Tammy on July 17, 2009Barry and Joey want you to know that horrible, horrible things are going to happen if Deathcare doesn’t get passed immediately with no one reading the bills and without our knowing how much it will cost let alone how we’re going to pay for it. But that doesn’t matter, because look what will be visited upon us if we don’t bend to the will of The Once. I’m just warnin’ And, of course, the most terrifying of all…

Biden: “We have to spend money to avoid going bankrupt.”
by Pat_S on July 17, 2009A post by Pat Any fool can tell the truth, but it requires a man of some sense to know how to lie well. — Samuel Butler Biden is a fool and what he said is beyond foolish to anyone in their right minds. This kind of demented thinking is the truth about the festival of fools in Washington. Speaking to the AARP about the death care bill: Biden: U.S. Must ‘Spend’ to Avoid Bankruptcy Vice President Joe Biden told a group Thursday that the only way the nation can avoid going bankrupt is for the government to spend more money. Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling...

Outlawing Private Health Care
by Maynard on July 16, 2009The Investor’s Business Daily observes, based on reading the proposed law, that Obama will outlaw private health care. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal. When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee. It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of “Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage,” the “Limitation On New Enrollment” section of the bill clearly states: “Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any...
