I listened to all of what she had to say– I am still of the opinion that this is a POSITIVE development. She said exactly what I though she would say. She said she cannot stand on the sidelines and fight for all of our children’s future while there a full court press against her. She asked us to trust her and stated she wants our “team to win”. Again, I think this is a good thing for us Conservatives who want her to run on a national level. This 4th of July weekend just got a little sweeter for me ;). I’d bet my bottom dollar that Todd was the “hell yeah!!!!” . LMAO

  2. CatB1 says:

I agree….I think she has a plan….I went on YouTube to rate and comment the video…before all the left wing nut cases (not too tough was I?) get on there and claim that they have won!

  3. 74Conservative says:

Whaaaaat!? An eloquent speaker with no teleprompter? That’s called speaking from the heart me thinks. It will be interesting to see how the haters spin it…I can almost hear it now; but no matter – they are but meaningless chatter boxes that do so loudly and often in order to seem relevant. They are not. Sara is.

  4. jarhead0311 says:

The commentators on all stations were trying to make Palin out to be quitter….Bill Krystol said it may be a ploy to get ready to run for prez, and one comment he made that speaks to the mindset of all those tv talking buttheads was: it would give her time to meet some ‘intellectuals’ (Washinton type probably). The overwhelming majortiy of the media has become a sucking sound like a fatal chest wound.

  5. Palin2012 says:

I agree with you Tammy – she’s ready to make a move for our country. We “right wing extremists” are not the only one’s who understand we’re in trouble and something has to change. This bold, brave step she has taken shows her willingness to defy convention when a new direction needs to be taken, no business as usual for her.

Sarah Palin’s commitment to “doing what’s right” no matter the political backlash, for Alaska and our country, makes her our “bright shining star”. I look forward to seeing her move into the national arena and showing all of those who doubt her what an honest, forthright, dedicated American Woman can accomplish. To the professional politicians in Washington, your jobs are about to become less secure when she hits the campaign trail for worthy Americans who wish to serve their country. Our next President of the United States – Sarah Palin. Look out B. Hussein, this woman is a fearless fighter and you are about to be truly challenged.

Woo Hoo – Happy 4th of July; independence day for our country and now Sarah Palin.

  6. Ohannes5 says:

Sarah Palin is a bright star in the dull national politics. She is far better than Urkel and the idiot congressmen and senators. I believe this will give her the room to say a lot more about the state of our country.

  7. Chuck says:

I believe we are witnessing the beginning of her 2012 campaign. We will in time know.

  8. RobbieK says:

I am saying it first, not out of ego or pride, but it is time someone said what is happening in our country and why Odinga (Obama, Urkel, Barry, or whatever name he really is) must be stopped. I personally will, starting now and forever more call him “Odinga”. Odinga ran as a Democrat but is a New Socialist of the far left wing element in the Socialist party. Odinga’s membership in the New Socialist party is a documented fact. In fact, I am henceforth calling Odinga a Neo-Marxist. He fooled not only Democrats, but Independents and some Republicans alike. Odinga holds closer to his Kenyan ancestry than American, due to his upbringing. After all, the Communist Frank Marshall Davis was his mentor for 10 long years and his so called Kenyan Father was a Communist. Today, Palin faked out Odinga and his leftist supporters. They are left empty with nothing else to do toward a great woman who had/has nothing but INNOCENCE of mind and true love and patriotism for our country. Sarah Palin henceforth needs to be commended. Today, the spotlight now shows on the Odinga Administration and his proxy fools of Media Matters and others. Americans today see the Liberals for what they are. In my opinion, today marks the throwing down of the gauntlet to the Democrat party. Conservatives take the party back! Yes, today marks the beginning of a 4th party in our country that Odinga started and is a true member of. It is the New Socialist Party, a party Odinga has been a member of since 1995, yet he hides the truth. Shame on you Odinga! This great lady Sarah Palin is 1,000 times better than you in character and ability. Yes, shame on you leftist PIGS!

  9. Artgal says:

I think it’s great that Palin has announced her independence just as this nation begins celebrating Independence Day. I don’t think hers was an abrupt decision as much as it was – and is – an encouraging and fighting statement from Palin!

Though I hate to see her leave her governorship, I see her getting ready for the bigger and better things we’ve been hoping to see. With the GOP having two of the ‘top contenders’ (…) for 2012 being shamed and exposed as the jerks they are, I think God is weeding out the GOP to make way for the ONLY candidate who can take this party back and return it to her glory days and to ‘we the people’. Palin is the ONLY candidate who can do that. I’m already sick of hearing ‘Romney is the 2012 guy’. Romney proved himself in line with the rest of the sexist and dismissive a$$holes when he made that derogatory statement about Palin’s looks a few months ago.

Palin is one of us. We don’t need the GOP establishment.

  10. theporch says:

Thanks to John McCain and the RNC for “NEVER” coming to her defense. I repeatedly tell the RNC this when the write me for money. I only gave the last time because of Sarah. He would have lost by a larger margin if it had not been for Sarah.

    • CatB1 says:

I was “lucky” enough to have them call me….I told him no way would the RNC get a penny out of me…if I found a politician that I could support I would do so on my own. I told him I was sick of RINO’s like McCain……that Republicans need to grow a backbone or a “pair”. At that he said thank you…I told him to put me on the “do not call” list!

    • lawmom90 says:

I foolishly gave the RNC $100 when I learned of Sarah. They spam the carpola out of me. They will get my membership when Washington D.C. (aka H3ll) freezes over.

Artgal said 😉 “I think it’s great that Palin has announced her independence just as this nation begins celebrating Independence Day”

I concur Artchick !!! Makes me think if this song/video from another gutsy ballsy chick ……….

“Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing let the whole world know that
Today is a day of reckoning let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong roll
The stone away, let the guilty pay, its independence day!!!!!!!!

Well she lit up the sky that fourth of July by the time the firemen come they
Just put out the flames and took down some names and send me to the county home
Now I aint sayin its right or its wrong but maybe its the only way talk
About your revolution its Independence Day”

  12. De La Vega says:

This is what I’ve been waiting for.

A mother of 5 just kicked the entire US political machine square in the nuts.

    What’s not to love?

  13. jerocat says:

    I came.
    I saw.
    She conquered.

    PS: Pat, thanks and…..
    That’s
    Part 3 on top
    followed by
    Part 1 and
    Part 2

  14. Dave J. says:

I was crushed when I first heard. Now, though, I recognize this for the possible brilliant outside-the-box bold move it may be, could be, hope for it to be. To save this country requires someone who can utterly demolish conventional wisdom. If it isn’t Sarah Palin, there’s no one else on the horizon.

Thanks to her resignation, Alaska will be freed of having its governor under constant frivolous attack by a national machine designed to destroy her. And she will freed of responsibilities to one state to become the leader of a national opposition to Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

The most significant thing I heard today was “I choose to fight.” That is not something you say when you plan on disappearing out of public life; it is not something you say in a retirement speech. It thrilled me because it assures me this isn’t the end of Sarah Palin. It’s just the beginning. Today was her Independence Day.

  15. barenakedislam says:

Andrea Mitchell, that sorry excuse for a ‘journalist’ is saying that “sources very close to Palin have confirmed that she is leaving politics for good.” HAH! Don’t they just wish.

  16. ladykrystyna says:

Well, I’m shocked and confused and worried . . . but also hopeful that she really is shooting for at least 2016 if not 2012.

But it all seems sudden and it seems to be, from what I’ve read so far, something to do with all the negative media and the harassment of 15 ethics investigations, of all which were dismissed. Which leads me to believe that maybe she could be out for good, as dismaying as that sounds.

Let’s face it, it takes a special kind of person to deal with all that stuff. Many people do not have the stamina to put up with it, no matter how wonderful they may be politically speaking.

Well, all we can do is wait and see.

My thoughts and prayers are with her.

  17. cubachi says:

God bless America. We’re finally going to have a conservative leader here in the lower 48 who has balls and will call a socialist a socialist.
Sarah is gunning for 2012 and she has my support!

  18. Sam Joe says:

    Here’s what annoys me.

Sanford won’t resign but here we have Palin who has.

Kind of takes the air out of our 4th of July day celebration.

This actually makes me a little angry.

  19. jmucciola says:

Sarah has a plan which I think includes a run for the U.S. Senate.

  20. lawmom90 says:

I like Sarah Palin; I have always liked Sarah Palin. She is unconventional. That drives politicians insane. She is not a politician. She is a person, who happened to hold political office. As a person who happens to practice law, I get very indignant when people call me a lawyer.
