Don’t be confused! As a Contributor, you can access all the podcasts in the “Podcasts” page listed just above the banner. There is also a welcome letter from me and other exclusive notes and posts in the “Members” page also available above the banner. I’m just about finishing getting today’s show ready for posting. As soon as it posts, you’ll see a note in the regular blog and it will appear in the Podcasts page. I hope that helps. :)
Tammy,
I almost busted a gut laughing at your story today about the hostile brat in the store. I have observed the same thing here in Northern Virginia many times. It is particularly infuriating to experience the dripping contempt of these nasty misfit men who don’t deserve to live in this wonderful country. I have my own special glare that I use for these encounters. I love what you did in response to those freaks. I am really enjoying the show, including the weekend program. I look forward to the pictures.

Well, it’s good to be back after being away for a few months and I like the new and improved Tammy site. I intend to become a Premium member soon. First though, I’m taking my 12 year old son to Disney World on Wednesday (4 days 4 parks), turn 49 on Saturday (a good way to take the edge of the age thing), and then to wrap it up at Sea World (phew!). Family first, ya know.
I’m a bit surprised about that 911 caller not mentioning the race of the suspect. Unless the caller had a really lousy view or was tongue-tied by political correctness, you’d naturally expect some description to be made about who was sighted. “Hi. I want to report one or more homo sapiens breaking into a home. Don’t ask me for details, because I wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m a racist. And forgive me for saying ‘homo sapien’, which is in no way meant to cast aspersions upon homosexuals. Okay, that’s my report, and now I feel bad about myself. I’m going home to rinse my mouth out with soap, after which I’ll report to sensitivity training.”
lol. Youre already having police not being allowed to put out a description of a dangerous suspect’s attributes. Cant mention race or their complexion, that would be racist. Cant mention their weight, that would offend those who are “big boned.” Cant mention what next? You’re gonna have the public on alert for a “person at large, armed and dangerous…” Gee thanks.. that helps.. *triple locks door and loads gun*
Well, it was dark when the incident happened and the caller probably couldn’t tell for sure whether the suspect was black, white, or purple. Also, the caller might have just left it out inadvertently due to the excitement of the moment. Perhaps the police dispatcher should have inquired about the perpetrator’s race but that would open a whole other can of worms.
Certainly a trained dispatcher would be expected to obtain a description of a suspect. Unless doing so would not violate the higher priority of showing “sensitivity”.
i’ve had-uh- ‘ interactions’ with the cambridge police. when a man was beating the tar out of his girlfriend ( they were both later confirmed to be black-it’s a black neighborhood) outside my house just outside my field of vision and i called 911 they asked me for a ‘description’ – that was it. when i said i couldn’t see but could hear them and the woman’s screams for help they dropped it and just sent the police. when the police arrived they asked for just a ‘ description’ which i couldn’t give which seemed to annoy them- they never pressed about race. they found them anyway- a junkie beating the crap out of his junkie girlfriend both known to the police. i was the only one who cared enough to call. at least the cambridge police cared enough to show up and track them down- probably saving the woman’s life- in certain neighborhoods in boston they wouldn’t have.
